Man you do good writing, people love and follow you, don't you think it's time to give it back to them, to give someone a guitar through a game or whatever, not just think of yourself, you're good but you can do better, people would highly appreciated it 👍
I got a deal on a Sweetwater demo one about 2 years ago. That neck is one of the more comfortable necks I've experienced on a Fender (now I'm kinda looking for a strat with a similar profile). I don't know if he already mentioned it, but the finish on the body is nitrocellulose lacquer and the neck is quartersawn. I was originally drawn to it because it's got several "custom shop" features for half the price. I do agree that the neck/back colors clash but after plugging it in that didn't bother me anymore. It's become one of my main tools.
Always a sucker for a blue Tele. I'm digging the binding a lot more than I usually would. I am genuinely shocked that they put such a substantial top wood on a flat top guitar. If there's ever been a guitar made for a veneer, it's a Telecaster.
For adjusting the truss rod without removing the pickguard, sometimes a paint can lid opener fits. But that Tele notch might be too small. Very pretty finish.
Wow, I never even realised you can't adjust the pickup height on (classic) Telecasters. The only Tele I ever owned was a Jim Root sig with EMGs. That's why I love these videos, you learn something new everytime.
In reference to the Fender logo. Never clip a tuner over the logo. It can sometimes peel away pieces of it when you take the tuner off. Happens on vintage Fenders more frequently.
As a not-particularly-vintage spec, I wonder why they went with the no-caster decal. Other Telecasters in this series didn’t omit the model name from the decal. Even earlier Deluxe models with the silver foil logo include the model name.
That’s one really nice tele. I like everything about it, that black binding even works really well and I usually don’t like black binding on guitars. What a beauty 😍
Just a small suggestion, Fenders sound best played with volume on 10. I can hear your guitar pick over the sound of your amp. Might want to turn it up a little, teles need help in the volume department, they're not like Gibsons. They sound best cranked, think Roy Buchanan, early Jimmy Page, they played them cranked up. Good review, beautiful guitar.
It’s definitely a set up thing! I have one of these and it sounds phenomenal clean or dirty. I’ve always gotten massive compliments when I play mine out in public.
If you haven’t yet, look up the Fender FMT series (seems they made them on and off a bunch of times, or people on Reverb can’t figure out the range of years they were made) I had black cherry burst one… matching headstock, black back/neck metal fender logo, set neck, carved top, humbuckers, smoke chrome hardware. I’m surprised Gibson didn’t go “Hey, wait a minute!” But then again, only the headstock shapess are protected. 😂 Also came in Amber, and Crimson Transparent… the burst was the best finish for me.
@@wesleyAlan9179 Had a great weekend, our Son spent the night and we were able to get some playing time in. Glad to hear your weekend was good. Thanks, Trog. Now I'm gonna have to take out my Warmoth-necked, Seymour-Duncaned parts-caster _before_ I can get to my pride-and-joy Epi Les Paul Modern. You gave me a hankering for the past. It's all good. Nice review/strange guitar. I do like the neck/fretboard, for sure. The pickups may be anemic, but that's the nature of single-coils. With the right amp/pedals, they can be something special, if not particularly dynamic. For me, it's humbuckers, all the way.
I can’t say I was ready for this quilted maple tele, but the tunes were kinda disappointing. My American Performer with Yosemite pickups sounds better to my preferences.
wow! thats the best sounding tele ive ever heard. its very bitey but its not like super overpowering. It just feels really balanced. I might have to do mine up with that pickup
@@wesleyAlan9179 I could set it up and it would sound alot better. He needs to learn how to do that otherwise his playing demo isn't going to sound good.
I like the finish on the guitar and I like the neck, but I think a better set of pickups would help and I also wish it had a six saddle bridge. Those 3 barrel bolt saddle's make it almost impossible to get the intonation right, especially on the D and G string's. Other than that, it's a nice guitar but i think i would probably buy a telecaster with a six saddle bridge and better pickups first.
I’ve passed by too many guitars I finally did it and I bought this one I can’t wait. I was going to get the Dark Knight telecaster but then I saw this video.
@@worksucksletsdrink6011 100% agree, the Waffle is perfectly designed to hold superior amounts of butter and maple syrup, and of course pairs well with Bacon!
i think the reason the they were not as popular is because you can actually get the same shape with a fancy top for much cheaper. its the "why buy flame maple fender for 2000 dollars when you gen get something similar from other companies?" kind of logic.
I’m not sure if I’m the guy that he was referring to about the waterslide decal on the rosewood tele. I think they’re perfectly fine on Fenders. But I’m not particular one because it was so dark in the surrounding plastic just made it look a bit cheap. I guess that was the original spec… So that’s what they went with. I mean I suppose that’s what was on the rosewood telecaster that they gave to George Harrison. They do have that three-dimensional version that they do. Which I think looks pretty good, and would’ve looked good on the rosewood. They also do the laser etched logo which I would’ve preferred over the waterslide on that particular guitar.
From my perspective the reason they didn’t sell very well is that guitarists are pretty traditional.
