I've had my secondhand Renault Twizy for more than two years. Sh's my 'go to' car. (I have two others for special occasions: one a 24-year-old VW Transporter for driving groups of friends on outings or, when the roads are covered in snow, I use a 4x4 Renault Kangoo. But for everyday use give me my Twizy any day. I use her for all my local travel, summer and winter: shopping - it takes three bulging bags of groceries in the back - visiting friends etc. Living In Andorra, high in the Pyrenees, I get two hours free roadside parking in town because she's electric. She's a joy to drive, so light and turns on a sixpence, yet has great road holding powe on our many hairpin bends. There's no sun visor but I use a baseball cap kept in the glove compartment to shield my eyes, actually more versatile than a sun visor. No windows? No problem, it actually adds to the fun. And basically we have no thieves in Andorra. I've got a long, padded winter coat with hood for if it's snowing - she's also equipped with snow tyres. You do need to slow right down to 10kph over speed bumps as the shock absorbers are pretty stiff. She'll reach around 86kph max but I seldom do that. The windscreen is brilliantly designed to shelter the driver - but not alas the passenger behind but c'est la vie.... My total monthly electricity bill: that is for lighting a four-bedroomed house, household equipment and charging the Twizy, comes to 18 - 20€. I adore her. She has her name, GRETA, blazoned across the back in luminescent green letters for all the gas-guzzling SUVs to contemplate as I do my bit to save the planet. (Oh and BTW, I'm a 74-year-old grandmother..)

I was a bit gutted that it was all looks with no real performance. But then it would probably tip over wouldn’t it!

I drove a Twizy in Italy and I have to admit it was hilariously fun. If it looked like an F1 car as well I would've belly laughed forever.

    Twizy F1
Following the footsteps of Renault Espace F1, in April 2013 Renault Sport exhibited the Twizy F1, a concept version of the car that featured Formula One technologies such as KERS. The KERS system and an upgraded electric motor boosted the car's power to 72 kW (97 hp), allowing to accelerate at comparable times with the Renault Sport Mégane R.S. 265 and reaching speeds up to 109 km/h (68 mph). The car is equipped with various open-wheel aerodynamic and other racing parts, including tyres from a Formula Renault 2.0 car and steering wheel from a Formula Renault 3.5 car.[24]
