- Commemorating "Kamen Rider BLACK SUN" on 10/28, "Kamen Rider Black: Terrifying! The Phantom House of Devil Pass" will be release on TH-cam for the first time(until 12/28).
【SYNOPSIS】
Yubari, Hokkaido. Surrounded by rich nature, this city was the target of a new plan by the dark organization Golgom. They planned to build the Gorgom Imperial City here and establish a major base for their global domination. The plan was steadily progressing under the leadership of the Century King Shadow Moon, but Dr. Makino, an urban planning expert who was being used by Gorgom, escaped. Kotaro sensed something unusual in Yubari after saving Makino. Kotaro's bad premonition came true in Yubari. While building a city, Golgom was reviving monsters that had been defeated in the past one after another. The ghost monsters were the spirits of humans and monsters merging into one. Kotaro is in agony, unable to do anything to help them, because if he fights back, he will injure the people monsters merged with. Then, the Century King Shadow Moon slowly appears before his eyes...

I still hope one day we'll get Kamen Rider Black and Black RX on Bluray in the US.
I'd buy them. Of course I would like Kamen Rider (got Kamen Rider V3), Kamen Rider X, Kamen Rider Amason, Kamen Rider Stronger, Kamen Rider aka Skyrider, Kamen Rider Super-1 (despite the star being a wanted criminal now) first.

Tetsuo Kurata's 35th Anniversary of Kamen Rider Black and counting, this is now the legend.
When I was a kid, this story line was amazing.
But after rewatch
I wonder, how did these 2 girl know exactly where kotaro go after long chasing and fighting scene
But still, I love Kamen Rider Black
This is tokusatsu aimed at children aimed from 3 to 6 years old, maybe 8. We're watching this because we like it, but we're absolutely not the target audience for this.
@@lucaspam I don't know about that. There isn't even a regular child character for children to identify with as iin the earlier Kamen Riders. The original Kamen Rider series didn't have the "Rider Girls" for 8 year olds. They were there to attract older boys and men. I dont know if it worked but the first Kamen Rider did run for 98 episode.

@@lucaspam Black is actually a series introduces a lot of new ideas and technologies, and it was found actually more popular among juniors and youth rather than primary school children.
This is also a great leap for the whole Kamen Rider series, thus more adult-orientation series like Kuuga, Agito, etc. could be made based on this progress. But as the first Kamen Rider series with such style, of course it will have plot holes.
And actually, all sci-fi shows have plot holes, even worldwidely popular movies like Jurassic Park series have such issue.
Anyway, Black and Kuuga remain my favourite Kamen Rider series, especially Black. You can see how it not only makes terrifying monsters, but also reveals darkness within humanity, as well as the deep pain of Black as a cyborg warrior.
To me, it is a series push the light and shadow of Showa series to the top. On the other hand, though I have not had chance to read it, the author actually makes a far darker and more realistic comic version of Black’s story. But of course, considering there will still be a certain amount of children watching the show, the production team do not dare to make the show same way as the comic.
Black series is actually kinda like Devilman. While Devilman’s comic remains the topnotch classic, I think Black also has its advantage. Unlike Devilman which makes the anime totally children show, this is still something thought-provoking and touching enough for me to watch after reaching adult age.
Of course, these 2 girls are using GPS to track Kotaro. 😁

Akira Ishihama who played the role of Yanagida from Jiban played the role Professor Makino in this 2nd movie of Kamen Rider Black.
Akira Ishihama made Flashman too and the awesome movie Harakiri as well. Such a great actor

Overall it sucks.
The good:
-main actor is good except for his henshin
-dark and more adult keeping with the aesthetic of the og
-cool costumes for both black sun and shadow moon
-more focus on shadow moon which the og lacked
-they did a tribute to the og which was very very cool
The bad:
-the henshin by the lead was very comical and weak compared to the original, the other 2 did it so much better and it shouldn't have been.
-the acting aside from the 2 main leads: black sun and shadow moon is very very very bad. It will make you cringe bad.
-they changed the plot to pander to woke westerners who don't watch these shows anyhow. The main plot of the og is definitely better, the problem was they didn't focus on it more while this new version focuses on the plot and 'brothers' more but very very poorly written and handled. Even the brotherly relationship wasn't touched on until the last ep while the og despite stretching it out handled the brotherly bond better
-may not be bad because it depends on how you take it but I hated the end. I saw the og as a small child and got excited only for it to end the way it did.
Overall between a 5-6/10 but I'll lean on the latter for nostalgia's sake

I always wondered, did they purposely have someone singing "Love and peace forever" in sense of irony before Kamen Rider Black kills the monster or did they not know what those English words mean. Not much love or peace when you kick someone to death.

I dont understand the point of all this. All this has done (for me at least) is make me seek out the fan subbed shows of whatever 2 episodes of subtititled shows theyve put up. Im obviously not going to move to Japan and buy their pay television channel or order Blu-Rays that are non subbed

Aw no ending song? The ending song of this series is one of my favorite. It's very emotional, I don't know but every time I hear the song it makes me cry even though I don't understand the language. 😅
Toei usually don't add ED theme songs on Toei Manga Matsuri movies like this one..This one was shown on cinemas together with Liveman,Jiraiya and Dragon Ball movies.

Sorry, Battle Hopper. You wouldn't stand a trip from Tokyo to Hokkaido and Kotaro needed something really fast to get there in time. Even though Dr. Tokimura... I mean Dr. Makino somehow did it by foot and arrived faster. Nice miniature work and bike stunts, by the way.
The movie was also made to promote de city of Yubari and Mr. Tetsuji Nakada was actualy the mayor at the time. That's why his acting is not so good, despite the age.
