Thanks for this video. My daughter did the same side shave in March of 2019 and is so frustrated with the growth. I showed this to her and she relaxed a little about the growth. Her biggest issue is she can never wear her hair up.
i have one currently but it goes into an under cut, I’ve had it for about 2 years. I’m growing the undercut part of it out now, its about 1 and a half inches. i plan to grow out the actual side shave in about a year or so, I’m gonna grow it out till its shoulder length the cut all my hair to be that length
I'm growing mine out too! It's been about 8 months, every single morning it manages to stick straight up! But, I have a short bob so I'll probably have mine even SUPER soon! Good luck to anyone who is doing the same, and if you are scared to shave your head don't be! It was a super fun experiment for me, I had it for about.... 5ish years I think. Just go for it!
I shaved half of my head back in June and it growing back so weirdly. I have fine/thick hair so seeing the long side grow back is not working the way I want it. 😭 I am super happy I had the half shave look but I am really excited to have my normal hair back 😂

if you get a hair band (or a bandanna to be edgier) you and wear your hair up and tuck the side shave in the hair band or bandanna and you can wear your hair up. it also works with undercuts!

I hope you have fun with it! I got a sideshave about a year ago, right after grade 8. I loved it, but when I went back to school, people bullied me for it so I grew it out two months after starting school :/ I’m heading into sophomore year now, and my advice to you is that no matter what people say about you, don’t do what I did and give in to their taunts. People are afraid of anything that’s different, but as long as you love your hair, no one can tell you shit👌 oh and also, be patient if you ever do decide to grow it out, it takes a LONG time hahaha

when i grew out my side shave i just always put my hair up and clipped it back. My hair is about nipple length and my grown out hair is about shoulder to collarbone length.
Also I love your grown out eyebrows. I always want to let mine grow but the sparse hairs that grow out around them bother me so I end up giving in and plucking them lol.

And I'm already over my second year that it's still growing out.. and what I did now is just cut it all at the same length so it can grow together now and maybe faster

I had a side shave about 2.5 years ago, that's when I first cut it, August 2019, and I then cut it all around short in may 2020 and looked like a dude for a while- my hair is finally back to my shoulders-
im tempted to grow my hair down my back and then shave both sides into a mohawk. I perm my hair now because i think curly suits me better. I think curly mohawks are just the darn cutest thing short or long

I'm doing the same thing exept 70% of my head is shaved. I have one of those "viking undercut hairstyles" we started to see everywhere when HBO Vikings -series began.. Every kid in the block had some sort of "viking undercut". Luckily i had it BEFORE the Viking series :). Been rocking long natural blond hair like umm 16 years and undercut 8 years. Now it's time to grow it out. I look forward to entering the "awkward stage" when it looks like shit :D it does not blend in with the longer hairs and it sticks out like i was a hobo just awaken from the gutter. Well... i already have started this, so no turning back now! About one month worth of growth and it already looks terrible lol :)
I’ve had a side shave for almost two years, except mine goes higher up and farther back so it’s kinda more like 2/3 of my head lol. I’m finally trying to grow it out but it’s coming in patchy and uneven 😓 only been about a month so I’m hoping it’ll fill in soon. Yours looks great!
Tip: When your hair is at least 1 or 2 inches, corn row that section back! Ive done this and my hair grew a lot longer by the time i actually took the braids out.

gel is the key. gel and tying your hair down with. silk scarf. that’s how i do it lol
I hated growing out my side shave. Once the length got down to my ear, I just cut all my hair to a short bob so it would be even.

Wrap a scarf on wet hair pressed down to a side and let dry. Then apply gel/ pomade based on your hair type.

Leftham Sam get a pomade/light gel to hold it down. Don't go crazy with it, use a toothbrush to brush them down
