Sept 2009: COOKIE WILL NO LONGER BE ON PUBLIC DISPLAY AT THE ZOO
"...because he was constantly agitated like a curmudgeonly old man who wants those darned kids off his lawn.
Earlier this year, staff noticed that when Cookie was off exhibit, his appetite improved and he appeared more at ease.
Cookie will spend all his time in a keeper's office surrounded by people he knows and likes."
YEAH, COOKIE -- NO MORE KIDS KNOCKING AT YOUR GLASS HOUSE AND SCREAMING AT YOU! :>)
    Happy Retirement!

I think it is sad that Cookie won't let anyone close enough to sort out his pin feathers, he looks like he could really use a scratch, and after all these years at the zoo, of he has'nt bonded with anyone, that is sad.

Most parrots can and do with proper care.
