  • Started my day on the Eastside of South Central Los Angeles in the East Coast Crips hood where LA artist Travis Ford was filming a music video. We could hear and see police vehicles heading out north towards Downton LA and Hollywood and that's where the video continued.
    People in the video:
    Travis Ford / therealtravisford
    ValleyHiTrip aka MrSac / officialvalleyhitrip65...
    Caramel / ccthaadon
    HoodVlogs / thehoodvlogs

I'm a African American young man and seeing this growing up is depressing. This environment is highly desirable on social media. I Moved away from environment but this lifestyle is hindering our culture. Especially the ones how are for the gang life and not for the people. The gang culture was supposed to protect our culture from police brutality not kill eachother.

Never understood how gangs do not realize selling drugs and alcohol to their own people is what keeps them down. Shooting each other because of a "street/turf" that they didn't even build with their own hands or even bought the land they live on. smh

It's so crazy to me how many people don't realize that leaving the hood(and the hood mentality) is harder than they think. It's not a purely motivation or work ethic based issue, it's a mental, financial, racial, and generational issue too.

  • @greyspinzon

This is honestly sad. When you grow up in a place like this is hard to scape toxic behaviors (gang affiliation, smoking, drinking). Those who leave are really brave because it takes courage and it's obviously difficult due to the lack of opportunities

The woman at 6mins in is the absolute realest. There's no point protesting if you're not going to do anything other than march for a few hours and send out a tweet. That's great but real change comes from action.

I'm from the jungles, and I busted my ass to push my kids to stay in school and not follow in my footsteps and by the grace of God it paid off, my sons are currently students at UCLA one is majoring in engineering and the other software engineering to work for NASA. My daughters are preparing to leave for Houston to attend the HPD academy. As for me, my wife and I moved out the hood, left for Las Vegas, both got good jobs, just bought a second home, and I'm happy.

It's good to see that they all have the same day of work. 💯😁😁
