- This is a short video on the daily routine I follow for my baby leopard tortoises. It will hopefully help new owners of these tortoises to see the routine that I follow each day to care for these youngsters. I have also included some tips and timesavers that may be useful for existing owners of leopard tortoises. This video is also relevant to the care of other young tortoises.

What a great video! So informative. I just made an indoor enclosure for a re-homed tortoise. After seeing your setup, I am going to do a tunnel like you have into a 2nd enclosure to increase the space and options. So glad I watched this video, thank you for sharing your expertise.

Priyanka Al Hi! I know I’m nine months late and you have probably found the answer to your question but, I would like to help people who have the same question out! If you own a turtle, they need an aquarium (so water). However, if you have a tortoise, DO NOT put it in deep water as they CANNOT swim! Tortoises do need places to soak themselves though!

Thank you very much for the video. I have 28 desert tortoises , the oldest being over 20 years old. As I live in a very hot country they are housed outdoors. In 2014 they produced 12 hatchlings of which 9 have survived. Since then all the hatchlings have died. This year the five babies have been housed separately from the adults in a large cut down plastic box, with sand as a substrates. I have a little dustpan & brush just like you , & I clean their home daily. I think the reason my other babies died was because I left them with the adults & some disease affected them. This year they are now a month old & are thriving. Thanks again.

Hey, I'm new to your channel and love the time and dedication you put into tortoise husbandry! I'm getting a new Tunisian Spur Thighed in late July, and was just wondering what plants you planted in the table and any you'd recommend :) I already have some spider plants (which my other tortoises love hiding under) and lots of spineless cacti :)
Hello! Thanks for your support and lovely feedback! In this setup I've mostly used fake plants for the baby tortoises to hide under.. I also plant out a selection of grasses and weeds/flowers in seed trays that I can swap over once they've been eaten/need refreshing. There are lots of different live plants like lavender, spider plants, air plants etc that you could plant that are safe for tortoises (some are to provide cover rather than food) - I list a few of the more readily available weeds/flowers in the UK in my 'What to Feed your tortoise' video. Also, please see "tortoise table plant database" for those weeds/flowers/plants/vegetables that are safe/harmful for tortoises.

what wattage for your heat lamps is best to use for a baby greek tortoise ? when i get mine im going to put him in a ceramic tub for a few months before upgrading him or her
A 100watt UVB/UVA basking bulb is usually fine for most set-ups (if you find this it too hot under the basking bulb and you can't raise the bulb holder any higher, then try the 80watt bulb instead) 😉 💚🐢

Beware not to raise the bulb too high as UV lights may diffuse away, usually 20-40cm between bulb and tortoise is fine :)

Depends what breed you have - if you have a leopard tortoise then I have a detailed video on lots of different foods you can give them 'Feeding your baby leopard tortoise'

sulcata is a pretty good starter sorry I'm two years late
I am also 2 years late lol but Russians are great starters! Sulcatas get way too big for beginners

Hello dear, may I know what is the sand that you are using for their house? And what is the food as my turtules they are eating only cucumber and kale and I am doing my best to put other food with no good luck ,please advise. Thank you
For leopard tortoises, the substrate I use is 50:50 mix of organic top soil with playpit sand.
Some tortoises are fussy eaters, you can try chopping up the 'new' foods into small pieces and mixing in with their favourites to encourage them to try different foods. If you have a leopard tortoise, then I have a video on 'Feeing your baby leopard tortoise' to give you ideas on other weeds/flowers that are good for tortoises.

Hello! I joined tubs together and made a simple tunnel between the tubs - it's very easy to do, even with the little DIY skills that I have! 😁 In another of my videos "Baby radiated tortoises Extending their enclosure (using a tunnel)" I show how I created these tunnels, hope that helps you? u can watch kamp kenan's videos, he built some hiding boxes that are supplied with heat lamps etc.

For basking I tend to use the Arcadia bulbs, for overnight heating I use the ceramic heat emitter on a thermostat 😊💚🐢

What do you feed your babies?
My tortoise only eat tortoise food... He not eat raw green veggies!!!! N also he is so aggressive plz help me what to do for this situation??
I'm assuming you mean pellets when you say 'tortoise food'? If so, you can try mixing in a little of the weeds/flowers in with the pellets to start with, then gradually (over a week or so) give more weeds & flowers and less pellets. It's good to try to give your tortoise a varied diet to keep him healthy, so don't give up, it's worth the effort! 😊
When you say he's aggressive, what does he do? what breed is he? What enclosure/set-up do you have? Does he roam around the house? Is he in with any other tortoise? (feel free to DM me on Instagram if you want to send me photo's of your setup etc so I can try to help you) 😊🐢

I put sphagnum moss in water (then squeeze out the excess water). The damp moss is then put in a hide to create a humid area for them 😊💚🐢
