    So very proud of you sweetheart. Your hard work will definitely pay off. I may be an old lady (58 haha) but you inspire me. You are truly blessed. I pray for your success but mainly for your continued happiness. Your family is great and y'all are lucky to have each other.

    I’ve been watching your videos and I love the care and passion you put into these tegus! Thank you for your transparency! I’m looking to get a tegu next summer and you are the only breeder I trust and will go with! Keep up the hard, but great, work! 🤗🤟🏾

    Hi I have a tegu that was born late July and I’ve had him since October. He barely eats anything I’ve never seen him take a bite of anything he only licks watermelon and egg yolk. His hot side is around 95-105 degrees humidity is between 30-80% daily. I’ve tried meats fruit veggies worms and he just doesn’t eat. He also isn’t very active 95% of the time he burrows. I haven’t noticed him lose any weight but I’m very concerned because of how young he is.

    is it normal for their heads to be green? Will they grow up like that? These are black line, right?

    • @TalonOfDragon
      @TalonOfDragon ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Black and whites all hatch out with green heads, as they grow that green will fade into black

      As they shed and grow, their colors will change.

    Why boiled eggs for the chicken and raw for the quail?

    • @RoseCityReptilesTX
      @RoseCityReptilesTX  ปีที่แล้ว

      Mostly to help prevent the mix from being to runny.

    Question... What's the difference between the indoor/outdoor supplement?

    • @RoseCityReptilesTX
      @RoseCityReptilesTX  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe the biggest difference is the levels of d3 in the supplement.

      @@RoseCityReptilesTX Was wondering that after I asked .. haha Definitely makes sense.

      Whats the name of the supplement?

    Why the need for “tickling” the eggs? Will they not hatch on their own?

    • @RoseCityReptilesTX
      @RoseCityReptilesTX  ปีที่แล้ว

      The tickling mimicks the other babies digging out of the nest in the wild and stimulates the babies to wake up and hatch.

    Can you tell which hatchlings will be more friendly towards people straight out of the egg? Why don't you socialize them as soon as they pop their heads? I am by no means an expert and am defintiley not criticizing but I appreciate how NERD hatches his water monitors and was curious if tegus would appreciate it in the long run. I got a baby tegu from an expo and I wish I could have had him straight out of the egg to secure the bond.

      There are always some that have very little fear, but just about all of them over the first week completely lose their fear of me and learn I bring snacks haha. The best time to get a tegu is when it's a baby!
