The first time I watched Top Gun was with my dad and right after Goose died, while we were both trying not to sob, my dad goes "You're gonna see Tom Cruise in his underwear in a second here".
Edwards was the only one of the actors that came to our premiere (military) in San Diego. He stood at the back of the theater and shook all of our hands at the end of the pic. Class act.
watched 25 times at theater but never got enough TOP GUN moment, every time I see Rooster made me cry, every time I see Hangman made me laugh so hard big love to you best guys!

So we can assume it's not quite 30 years and we know that he wanted to do that right after TG. Let's say it was 29 yrs ago, that would make it 2015. This aligns perfectly with the motorcycle fact.
