There is a little bit confusion about active and passive sensor. Passive sensor requires external power source but active sensor doesn't need any external power source. That's why it's called active sensor.
Scaling is the process of taking a signal such as a process variable, voltage or current output from a sensor and applying calculations to present this signal in a more usable form in terms of engineering units, such as PSI, °F etc. or simply we can say it is the link between an electrical value and a physical value .
