Onboard the largest visitor to the Island of Crete, currently operating twice a week is this magnificent Edelweiss A340 flying between Zurich & Heraklion. With A340's days numbered and the uncertain future because of the virus I jumped at the opportunity to get myself on one, which could possibly be my last chance to get on one.
So onboard the only widebody, 4 engine aircraft to any of the Greek islands. We blast out of Heraklion's rather bumpy runway 27 and turn immediately to the right and over the beautiful coastline and climb out over the Aegean sea.
Be sure to check out the "Full Flight" video from this, it includes much more footage, including the landing, a look around inside the cabin & seat area and some stunning views along the route.

I did this flight a month earlier than this last year. Exact same right turn right after takeoff. I saw 10-15 planes which did the same before mine took off

Wow, I was going to be flying on this Edelweis plane to Crete, but was rebooked in Lufthansa instead. I couldn't believe that a340 was landing in that short landing strip. Great video.

A 2714m. runway is not exactly a ..short landing strip

@@plutoamor true even 747s have landed there. but the winds can make it pretty dangerous

An A340 in Crete. That’s spectacular enough. What a stupid comment.
