To buggs, You are right. I survived quite a few heart attacks and an aortic dissection type 2. it is painful. I now pray to Jesus every hour.

GOOD for YOU Robert !! I'm glad for your family and you that you're doing well . And keep the faith . I'm 5 years out from my Type A dissection surgery and I'm grateful for every day since . Enjoy being a dad and husband .That can be purpose enough . Your story being told may also save another life , so be proud of that too .

How do you check for this?
Yep i had the same feeling , my aortic valve was 7.5 centimeters when i had my mechanical heart valve implanted, im on coumadin blood thinner for lifetime now. I passed out at work in November 2015 .

I never had abdominal pain
I had a tearing feeling and extremely week , my speech was like a stroke . I collapsed

Had this in 2013, type b descending 3.6 now today 5.0 I'm on 4-5 hypertension meds. In 2015 developed dissecting thoracoatal aneurysm. Lying on top of one another. Regular scans. I was 48

@@kash6175 I had rapid growth for 18 months and stabilized at 4.8 since 2018 but as of August was now 5.0. My surgeon said between 5.5 to 6.0 they consider surgery

@@josesuarez2129 10/10 pain for 10 plus hours before I got nerve up to go to ER. My dad died when I was 9, he was 53 of massive heart attack. I was afraid initially of going. No lead up to event. I was laying down watching You Tube video, stood up
To get drink of water and as I tried to sit down felt a sudden, ripping or tearing in my chest. At same time felt like a rush of blood go from neck to mid chest area. Started at nearest ER who gave me 3 nitroglycerin with no effect , normal EKG but CAT scan of chest immediately showed aortic dissection. Dr came immediately in room as I was being wheeled back from radiology , told me no heart attack but was a vascular aortic year and I was being ambulance transported to level 1 hospital 15 miles away with comprehensive cardiac and thoracic care hospital. The ambulance crew were literally there within 1 minute of the doctor telling me this. Checked into 2nd ER where Cardiovascular surgeon greeted me and admitted me to ICU then step down for total 8 days.
@@kash6175 Initially but from 2014-5 growth then held at 4.6 and summer 2022 was 4.8 and July 2023 up to 5.0 . July 2023 had TIA event related to the uncontrolled BP for years. Brain MRI showed damage from hypertension. On blood thinners now and 3 BP meds daily

Type a is in the ascending aorta type b is in the descending aorta

I'm 28 I have had small traits of aorta dissection which is rare for someone my age I want to know if I could live with it
