I was telling a friend of mine from work about this movie. She loves Jeff Goldblum who was very nice to her on one occasion so she said she'd watch every movie or show he was in. So she will be watching this for Halloween 2024! I remember watching this back in 1980.
Never knew Jeff Goldblum did this role! OMG 1980’s tv ….. we had no idea the quality was so grainy…we loved it…now everything is super sharp digital quality…..amazing how far we have come
There’s digital quality sharpness on modern televisions and computers, but I am old fashioned and I prefer the way tv used to be before modern technology took over.
Believe it or not, this is the best quality I've seen on TH-cam. Past watches have been far grainier. This looks great. LOL And this version of Sleepy Hollow has become my favorite.
Grew up with the Disney cartoon & it's always been a favorite. This version of real actors is my absolute favorite! Can't beat Jeff Goldblum as Ichabod Crane. He's perfect! Great movie ~
I was planning a screening with friends but was bummed I couldn't find a decent quality version of this, look today and see you uploaded this a literal week ago. I feel blessed as hell right now, this movie is a goofy and iconic little lost gem, Love it. THANK you.
Thank you for this. There was another version I’ve watched for years now but it’s recently gone (along w/all the comments over the years). Looked like a direct copy of an old VHS complete w/a slur in the audio/video in the opening title sequence. I loved it, took me back to my youth when you’d watch a tape so much that would start to occur. Not sure if that was also yours or not but thanks again for this one, I watch this throughout the year, very comforting to me. ❤
Saw this when I was a kid in the early 80's and it creeped me out. Still pretty good considering it's made for TV budget, and of course it's main actors. More comedic than I remember, also.
I watch this throughout the year sometimes. What puzzles me is why did they cut into a scene with Jeff/Ichabod just after Winthrop Palmer's visit to him being scared of his furniture moving around as if a ghost was there? Why not start it from the beginning instead of the audience imagining what was going on? Of course it was what he thought was a ghost but we only see a part of it. Puzzling.
There is a more complete version somewhere that I watched once that has more footage where this and a couple other scenes make more sense. I’ve never been able to find it a second time though. It’s a better version.
I love this movie because it’s relaxing. But there is something that puzzles me story wise. Why do they spend most of the movie trying to convince Icabod ghosts exist but when he starts to believe them they think he’s nuts?
That was always a mystery. It truly makes no sense. I see it as an allegory for groupthink: when you join a "new" social ingroup, you must subscribe to the beliefs of the ingroup, no matter how illogical. Yet to truly be disturbed by these beliefs rocks the boat, and you don't want to do that.
There is snow in this version likely because that is how Washington Irving wrote his original story. "What fearful shapes and shadows beset his path, amidst the dim and ghastly glare of a snowy night! ... How often was he appalled by some shrub covered with snow, which, like a sheeted spectre, beset his very path! ... Some mention was made also of the woman in white, that haunted the dark glen at Raven Rock, and was often heard to shriek on winter nights before a storm, having perished there in the snow."
The first time I seen the Headless Horseman was with the animated Disney version in the 1950s, loved it. This one is by far the best live action movie I have found…Jeff Goldblum is by far the best actor for this film, he is an amazing actor…I’m thinking I had seen this once in the 1980s with both my sons on tv, and remembered some of it. I am so glad to have found this, I truly love and enjoyed watching it, always will….thank you for sharing it…..👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
This is my favorite version. It just has a real feeling about it.
This is the only version I watch!!!!!!
And Dick Butkus 👍

Meg Foster’s eyes are so mesmerizing. Absolutely beautiful.

I knew since 1980

Watched this great version in the 80s. Glad I grew up during the 80s-best times!!!
Excellent job remastering! I love this version. Jeff Goldblum is the perfect Ichabod Crane.
Thank you for doing this. I love this movie. Actually watched it on tv when I was a kid.
Me too. I was 7 almost 8. Wish they would release this on DVD. I’d buy it.
This & the cartoon is what made me fall in love with the Headless Horseman story. This takes me back.........way back. 😅😢
I fondly remember watching this back in 1980 . I was 7. Wish it was on DVD.
Thanks so much! I watched the original one on here many times, and this looks so much better.
Grew up with the Disney cartoon & it's always been a favorite. This version of real actors is my absolute favorite! Can't beat Jeff Goldblum as Ichabod Crane. He's perfect! Great movie ~
OK, I take it back. My Absolute favorite is the Christina Ricci & Johnny Depp version. That was just crazy great! This will be my 2nd favorite then ~
I believe that this was made for TV. Thanks for posting it
I used to love this movie when I was little. Been trying to find it
I was planning a screening with friends but was bummed I couldn't find a decent quality version of this, look today and see you uploaded this a literal week ago. I feel blessed as hell right now, this movie is a goofy and iconic little lost gem, Love it. THANK you.
Thank you for making this look better and uploading! One of my favorite movies! 🎃
I always watch this at Thanksgiving
I REMEMBER THIS WHEN I WAS 12. I'M 47 NOW... NICE MOVIE!!! J.G. MAKES A GOOD NERD. M.F. WAS A PRETTY GAL&GOOD ACTRESS IN PLAYING IN SCI-FI & HORROR!!!
This video is much clearer than another one I saw! Nice work.
I love this version!!! It's my favorite!!! Thank you!!!
Agreed, it’s mine too!
Love this movie, but didn’t clue-in til now that Jeff Goldblum played the lead; “Go Jeff!”

Every time I see Goldblum I think there’s Ichabod Crane. They never show it on tv. Thanks for posting.
This is the one I watched as a kid. This got me to love the story

I absolutely agree with you. I saw this one originally came out, and never could understand why they cut that part out of it.

Vanderhoof - the Principal of the sweathogs on Welcome Back Kotter...
I knew this was going to be a good movie when I saw that Jerry Madore was the key grip.🙄
Dick Butkus was a better football player than actor. He was so corny, but he was an assassin on the football field.
Only problem is why's it snowing? This should be a fall story.
There is snow in this version likely because that is how Washington Irving wrote his original story. @@stewartchaize6443 It was a harvest party at the Van Tassels though. Maybe sometimes it snows in NY that time of year?
it doesn't have to be a fall story.
In the original story, Ichabod Crane lacks physical attractiveness. Jeff Goldblum makes the character handsome!
Paul Sand was always corny.
