No worries Bro. A lot of individuals have a lack of ironic humour in their cranky bones. I couldn't believe how the clowns, oops clowns are funny people, talked at you in that bar, sad fcks must lead a very sad Life indeed. I'm a Rangers fan but not to the exclusion of admiring Celtic's great football History, I even went to the 1970 European Cup Final at the San Siro in Milan. And to top that I almost became a Celtic player away back in 1968. But the club that I played for weren't having it and I discovered later the full story from some of my team mates and later in Life from Tommy Gemmil, as he was instrumental in telling Jock Stein & Sean Fallon about me. Tommy lived nearby before he passed away and he told me what had happened. Celtic had been watching me & Jock Stein had told Sean Fallon to go see me playing. I was told after the game that he had been there for the duration of the match & at the end of the game there was an exchange of words between Sean Fallon & the idiots that ran the club I played for. Apparently they he'd shouted & sworn at him, unbelievable, only because he had expressed an interest in having me for a trial for Celtic , the then European Champions, The ugly side of prejudice. And hugely disappointing for me as I was mad about playing football, a goal keeper. The Arsenal scout was treated in the same manner as were several others, one of which I witnessed as a St Mirren scout had approached me immediately on the final whistle & he was subjected to a tirade of foul mouthed abuse. I was a Rangers supporter but it would not have stopped me wanting to play for that brilliant Old Celtic team. All the best
Is it really as hostile as you all say? I visited Scotland, but only managed to be in Edinburgh with my Celtic beanie. I only got a slight stare down from a Rangers supporter lol I really want to go to an Old Firm Derby - Im from the States.
@@Gio-m Yes it is, the rivalry goes beyond just football, it has a long history of sectarian animosity which dates back to a time when there was a clash of cultures, religion, politics and dire poverty. No reason you can't go and take in a game but if you're wearing Celtic colours then make sure you get a ticket in with the Celtic supporters, you'd likely be refused entry trying to go in the Rangers section and you certainly wouldn't receive a warm welcome from the Rangers supporters.
