I've been using these cards since the legendary perk cards came out. I'm using a legacy vampire explosive radium rifle with it making me unkillable in pve I can even heal myself by shooting the ground as I got fireproof and the explosion gives me rads. I haven't used a single stimpak since. I use only Nuka Cola's for ap regen in boss fights and the odd radaway inside a nukezone as I can enter it with no power armor or hazmat suit. If I use some radshields I can be immune to radiation completely. It is such a quality of life improvement to those who haven't tried this perk. I call it the child of atom build here's hoping they will add some children of atom related content in the future :) thanks for a great video turtle. Btw Nuka grenades and nuke mines also heal you just don't get caught in the blast of two of them. But placing a nuke mine on yourself while sorrounded by 15 ghouls is quite the fun trick. Gamma guns and assaultron heads will also heal you.
Upgraded what rads after watching this video. I prefer no PA. These have made me more tanky, especially with feral ghouls at events. I hang out on radiation sources for constant healing. Thank you 🐢
Could you do a video specialized on VATS builds? (no bloodied) What cards are good, what to avoid, what mods to use, which legendaries etc? I think you did one a long time ago but i don't know if things changed since then.
I've been using a high endurance+What Rads?+Ghoulish combo for a bit now, if you can do without whatever you're using work in a high cap backpack and use the negative rad resistance to your advantage.
Thank you so much for this video Turtle. I have been running around with Ghoulish level 3 wondering why it's not doing anything. I play bloodied so assumed that having loads of rads would gain me benefit from Ghoulish. But it really is rad ATTACKS that kick in Ghoulish and provide the healing. Coupling this with Rads what Rads is a great idea.
colas would take two END slots, wouldn't they, since you'd need max Cola Nut? And also actively harvesting Nuka Quantums so you have enough to spam heals? Personally I found keeping a store of Headhunter's Headcheese is good enough if you're a carnivore. +500 Health in a single button press, no need to spam even, and since it relies on a mutation and not a perk, you're not giving up SPECIAL _or_ legendary perk slots.
I never really use it in adventure however it works really well in nuclear winter if you're caught behind the storm or if you have no health and you cant find stimpacks you can always find something to give radiation.
I have a wendigo kind of build, in strength it's the basics, but with unarmed, then a lot of endurance, it's lvl 3 cannibal to heal when you eat a corpse, also gain rads, lvl 3 goulhish so when I gain any amount of rads I heal a lot and a insane amount, and lead belly lvl 2 so whenever I use cannibal, I don't get a lot of rads so I can eat more bodies, (p.s. ghoulish lvl 3 heals a lot from any amount of rads, big or small) and radicool and 4 unyielding and 1 lifesaving amour, so I when I have a lot of rads I do a lot of damage with my instigating triple claw deathclaw gauntlet, while healing insanely alot
I'm taking notes, then using Solar or Thorn Armor, Max Cannibal card, Carnivore, Bird Bones, Speed Demon, Marsupial, Twisted Muscles, and Talon's Mutations. I'm going to create an Unarmed Man-Eater Build that can also go Stealth when wanted. I've got some serious work to do.
This looks pretty nice I recommend the Channel to new players I talk to usually help them with some basics then just send them here to check out your videos.
Angry turtle have you tried using this while you are on a team and sharing red sponge the red sponge would be taking your rats away very quickly because all three of your team members will have it while at the same time you are receiving a lot of radiation and healing
So many fun full health builds to try! You're a genius bro. Thing is, I can't find myself giving up my bloodied build because of the extra XP, and I got limited play time so I think I can't finish the season without that extra xp to help with the levels and points. Any ideas? I really wish they changed that somehow.
This is good information. Thank u turtle. Unfortunately for console users the quick menu is almost useless during intense battles and events, as when u try to select something from the quick menu the game lags so badly that it makes it nearly impossible to access them. So i would never be able to use the toxic glue quick enough to heal before i’m killed in say radiation rumble or the cryptid event for example. The only quick option that truly works for console users during these type of events is using the right d pad which only uses regular stimpacks and there is no option (that i know of) to change this to something else like say diluted stim for bloodied build or toxic glue in this case. (and as u say, this quick option is not even that quick due to the animation) It’s actually really frustrating for a lot of reasons, hard to change weapons or even use radaway or chems during those type of battles. Sometimes my screen will actually freeze in the quick menu for about 5-10 seconds when i really need something to survive like radaway and i end up dying. And i actually have really fast cable internet and never have problems like this in other games. Which is why i have to assume it’s due to the servers not being able to handle the game play, and having to go through so many functions to access items during intense events is just too much for the game to handle. Ugh... 🤦🏻♀️ I really need to invest in a decent PC lol, at least then i would have an actual quick quick menu. 😜
I came back to watch this again I do want to try this someday don't have (what rads?) at Max rank as of right now but it's fun to do new things with perk cards lately I've been using cola nut perk card I know some people would probably say it's not worth it but I've been crafting healing salve a lot and stopped using stimpaks don't really need them with adamantium skeleton at Rank 3 because your limb damage is completely eliminated without it only a stimpak can heal limb damage but Nuka colas are really worth drinking when your HP is low plus it's addicting because of the way it sounds when you twist one open and you hear that bottle cap and collect it 😉 also some good farming spots for them I carry so many Nuka colas now because of thru-hiker but there's always the backpack mod to reduce the weight of food and drink by 90%. I drink Nuka Cola all the time it's fun. And good to use (what rads?) so when you drink the Nuka your rads just clear up. I found once you have a lot of excess Nuka colas staying at or around a certain amount is pretty easy.
I still wish that there was also a rad child card or some sort of armor similar to the robes of atoms devoted in fallout 4 far harbor. If you don't know what the robes of atoms devoted do just Google it. If they had something like this in the game along with maybe Adams bulwark then you would be doing an absolutely fantastic job I don't even think that they have rad powered in here. So many limitations when it comes to trying to build a ghoul or child of atom.
Make a video if you can build a character that will run around a nuke zone without a rad suit or power armor. I know you can stack anti rad buffs, but something realistic that you can keep up all the time, like a set of secret service armor and the legendary perk.
I've used Ghoulish for a while now on my 15END bloody Commando build. Saved me from random ghouls surprise jumping me on plenty of occasions. Using Toxic Goo, and Radaway Dilutes to raise or lower my rads rapidly as needed while having simultaneous healing during that is helpful. Generally I spam Colas and the extra bit of heals adds up after spamming a bunch. Helps during SBQ fights too as there's lots of rad dealing things everywhere that require me to Radaway a lot, so soon as I Radaway then heals, along with Healing Factor start and I hardly need to carry any Stims. Usually like 25 Supers gets me through a twelve hour play sesh easy as long as I'm not pvp'ing.
Only have 1 star what rads. At what point would it start becoming effective before I start investing in upgrades? Like the min or don't unless maxed out?
Do you mean the general title or another 76 type of game? I wouldn't go through this again seeing as how it's a live service game so another 76 type of game is useless to me but if people like to shell out money , have at it. Get the plague mutation and you get a position aura that tags monsters and dmgs and even kills em if you have more than one disease. It pairs well with unstable isotope and electrified
Is it even worth using at all in a low health unyielding build? Like just for a little extra defense in a way? From the video looks like it wouldn't help at all with low health build, might remove it and transfer the extra points to agility.
This perks synergy plus a full set of fully upgraded secret service armour would probably work quite well for nuke zones. Don't quote me on that but it might be worth a try.
@@Dead_Pool_Rising I have seen many people say that it's only feasible if you are on a team where you all have Rad Sponge as well. Never tried it myself though. But even if you have ultra high rad resistance, it's only a fraction of the hidden radiation bonuses of PA, chinese suit and hazmat suit.
So what your saying if I use Ghoulish and What Rads I'll pretty much be invincible against Rads and no need carrying Radaway? And carry Toxic Goo since it's lighter than Radaway?
i used Ghoulish for a while. it was good but it was only base level. i avoided ranking it up because i don't have enough special points and i don't feel like i can afford to transfer points from other stats. i'm really a terrible character builder, tbh. i want everything.

The aqua boy/girl bug with toxic goo is so annoying. You can still drink dirty water or toxic water and get radiated with the perk equipped but somehting that has nothing to do with water actually gets blocked?!! Bugthesda... who would have thought. By the way, i really love the vampire shredder minigun build. With what rads you can PA a nuke zone and not get below 80% hp. (im bloodied so i use diluted radaway instead of what rads.) Is there a way to improve the damage except for 40% additional bash damage on weapons?

Hey turtle any way you can test the gauss shotgun for me? Not sure if it's glitched or buggy but this just started today with me. When I use my gauss shotgun for a couple times I'm unable to run I can't heal myself and I can't even bring up my wheel or spawn my survival tent. Need to know if it's just me when ever u have the chance. But if I restart the game there no more problems up until I start using my gauss shotgun again then same problem.
Why not bloodied? IS it impossible to get to low health high rads with this combo? If you could sit in radiation emitters and keep it at that level seems it would work but I never used it?
@@raintown Mainly due to my bloodied builds not needing to. Sure I could work it in but I play on xbox and dont really feel like card swapping all the time and having to crank my rads constantly in non irradiated fights sounds like work. Stealth bloodied commando works just fine without it anyways. Heavy gunner bloodied only dies from one shots or my own guns like a fat man.
@@AngryTurtle ah ok. i tend to go lightweight on all my chems anyways so i don't have much to gain from running it. maybe keep 1 or 2 each of things like mentats and other chems and maybe 10-15 each of things like radaway and stimpacks. not sure that would justify the resource allotment for that perk.
I tried a low health build and i have stacked rads so i can keep my HP where i wanted and when i tried Ghoulish perk lvl 3 i did not get any heal during battles. Maybe it works only with recent recieved rads or what?

I think it's broken, it seemed to work really well but lately I'm just not regenerating health? I've only got the 300 rad resistance from the legendary perk but my health only goes down 😭
Very cool, but for most enemies you need to have toxic goo ready, which means you have to periodically collect it. I'll stick with using radaway and stimpacks, which the game continually gives you, and use my 6 SPECIAL points elsewhere.

no radiation from water... means no rads from toxic goo... means no healing from toxic goo... I assume.
@@heinzerbrew Oh yeah, you're probably right. Thx for that!
exactly fallout 4 build to use more food as healing rather stims
The aqua boy/girl bug with toxic goo is so annoying. You can still drink dirty water or toxic water and get radiated with the perk equipped but somehting that has nothing to do with water actually gets blocked?!! Bugthesda... who would have thought.
By the way, i really love the vampire shredder minigun build. With what rads you can PA a nuke zone and not get below 80% hp. (im bloodied so i use diluted radaway instead of what rads.)
Is there a way to improve the damage except for 40% additional bash damage on weapons?
you can boost your strength
@@AngryTurtle thanks for the reply. I alread have 39 STR without temporary buffs like food or chems. But i will test some buff food to see if it will get even more rediculous :P
Toxic goo wow turtle I got to give it to you you know how to play this game
Hey turtle any way you can test the gauss shotgun for me? Not sure if it's glitched or buggy but this just started today with me. When I use my gauss shotgun for a couple times I'm unable to run I can't heal myself and I can't even bring up my wheel or spawn my survival tent. Need to know if it's just me when ever u have the chance. But if I restart the game there no more problems up until I start using my gauss shotgun again then same problem.
it's common bug keep shooting until it reloads that usually fixes it, to try and avoid this bug you need to shoot slowly
@@AngryTurtle ok thank you so much I did what you said no more problems. Appreciate it bro. 👍
i use to this perk cuss i find making stimpacks boring sometimes , all you do is collect dirty water and drink it
Like always, damn good video
Takes like 2 secs for quick wheel to pop up on console
Already use ghoulish with legendary perk on full health melee. Can be afk for 5 minutes in anytime and nobody is able to kill me.
Does unstable isotope mutation heal you with the what's rad legendary perk and ghoulish perk maxed?
it should
Hey Turtle I was wondering do j need Iron Clad perk is it worth having?
check my video about it
healing factor be good to use on this build
I'm making this build when perk loadouts come
is there a way to cancel out rad regen 300 rad resistance seems good for. a bloodied build
no you can't
What’s the best armor to pair with this build?
solar works well for me
Owlish I could use this as a bloodied build that’d be insane.
You could as a Berserker build.
This is a great card, but the downside is that it's situational. In my opinion, I don't recommend building around this perk
Hey Turtle, is this build posted somewhere? Im looking for a good full health shotgunner build.
yes that's my support shotguner I just recently added more endurance
I love ghoulish and what rads. Have it on all of my builds that arnt bloodied.
Is it still working? Last week i realized that ghouls attacks are causing so less rad damage, it's only my impression?
more rads resist you have less rads you take
how are your stim packs 0.1lbs? pretty sure mine are like 1lb each.
travelling pharmacy
@@AngryTurtle ah ok. i tend to go lightweight on all my chems anyways so i don't have much to gain from running it. maybe keep 1 or 2 each of things like mentats and other chems and maybe 10-15 each of things like radaway and stimpacks. not sure that would justify the resource allotment for that perk.
I tried a low health build and i have stacked rads so i can keep my HP where i wanted and when i tried Ghoulish perk lvl 3 i did not get any heal during battles. Maybe it works only with recent recieved rads or what?
you need to be taking rads much more useful with full hp builds
@@AngryTurtle You mean that if i already have rads on me and i get damage, other than rads, that perk wont heal me? As i said, it works only with recent recieved rads, cause from what it says it should work no matter what if you have rads on you. Im kinda lost here.
@@primarchxi6639 amount of rads you have doesn't matter
@@AngryTurtle Well, it does not work for me at least, i do not heal. Also, can you tell me pls if Emergency protocols works as the description says, cause, as many ppl have noticed, i see only run speed and, for some reason, i did not noticed any dmg reduction. Bethesda must be more serious with that game and start fixing bugs, besides the poor optimize of the game!
Thx for your answers!
Healing salve also dont have animation right ?
yes
born survivor automatically uses stims without animation for me.
All none stimpaks heals do not have an animation. Food drinks healings salves. And toxic goo of course.
@@nukacola3218 But Healing salve also repair your broken limbs right @Angry Turtle ?
I believe power armor stops your limbs from breaking but I could be wrong. Been awhile since I wore a suit of it.
I like running Cannibal LOL
I think it's broken, it seemed to work really well but lately I'm just not regenerating health? I've only got the 300 rad resistance from the legendary perk but my health only goes down 😭
that's bad news
is it working now?
@@AngryTurtle is it working now?
@@kerkertrandov459 i tried to use it recently and it's working, I don't think it was ever broken
I wonder how well, if at all, this would work for a bloodier build.
If you find yourself exposed and taking rad damage often ... maybe good. But at what cost?
Very cool, but for most enemies you need to have toxic goo ready, which means you have to periodically collect it. I'll stick with using radaway and stimpacks, which the game continually gives you, and use my 6 SPECIAL points elsewhere.
No need to use 6 points for it, adamantiom isnt necessary if you cary 1-2 Stimpacks, also you dont need "starged genes" if you have "what rads"
So if I take why rads I don’t need starched genes how does that work? I’m scared to try it and then lose my mutations lol
@@Ed-ealmighty The chance of mutations increaes with the amount of rads, you already have and how many rads per second you get at the moment.
With "What Rads" and PA or similar you have always nearly zero rads, means the chance of getting a mutation is next to zero.
Not impossible but very unlikly.
@@jonasstahl9826 see it’s that not impossible but very unlikely part that makes me opt out
@@Ed-ealmighty if you lose a mutation many people sell the serums. But I keep starched genes on all the time and don’t use What Rads
Laughs in super stimpacks
