I live in southern sweden where the light conditions aren't as extreme, but i can tell taking an evening walk on a cold winter night when the moon cast shadows on the glittering snow, the sky is filled with countless stars and it's so silent cause the snow muffles all sounds, really feels like you live in in a fairytale. Wouldn't trade it for anything.
she is known in the north.... and even in the world because she has some pictures and paintings in IKEA . she is photogragh, a film maker (with a lot of awards), a painter, and her husband is a jewery maker. 10 years ago she was working in a office in a big city and she decide to quit everything to live in the house of her ancester in the north.
I live further north than Jonna, just below the Polar Circle. I can´t say that I prefer any time of the year. Every season has its charm. In summer I need less sleep, and I love to sit outside reading a book in the middle of the night when the temperature is more comfortable. No extra light is needed, because it´s light enough outside. Or take a walk in the night sun - wunderful! But the darkness in the winter is special. It´s OK to be lazy, to sleep longer, to sit in the sofa and drink some hot chocolate. Our Christmas traditions are all about light. All our Christmas songs have a theme like "now it is dark, but the light will come back!". And on Christmas Eve we know that we have been through the darkest day of the year, and we have made it once again! Christmas has come with the returning light. Well, that is how I feel about our light and darkness!

the charm of living in northern Sweden is the variety in all seasons we have.. love all seasons
Norway, Sweden, Finland and some parts of russia are quite same in the seasons. i'm from Finland and personally winter is the worst,except northern lights and the stars. fall is beautiful with all of it's colors and in the spring everything suddenly comes back to life.
Swede here. Winter is my favourite season I think. I really like the snow and cold, it's very beautiful and just feels so fresh. I'd take -30 C over +30 C any day!
But the darkness can sometimes be a real nightmare for your well-being.. No matter how used to it or how much you remind yourself that it will soon be light again, it still really gets to you at times, without you being able to do much about it. I generally handle it by working nightshifts in November - February. To at least be able to enjoy the very few moments of not complete darkness in the forenoon.. Like working 22:00 - 06:00 and then stay awake until 13:00 before going to sleep.
The Northern lights and the truly stunning night sky you get to see are so fantastic though. Especially in places with no light pollution (basically as long as you're outside of major cities)
Winter is my favorit season. But you know, the USA is a hell of a big country. Alaska!

I am from middle of Sweden. I love the sun, and love the snow during the winter. Autom is worst, as is get dark and the snow has not yet fallen. That is dark. But when the snow come, it gets back.
She lives in Northen Sweden, above the polar circle, there they actually have 24 sun and 24 night. South of there we never have all time night or day. But we get more south, the more night we get in the summer and more light during winter.

I live in a small town in the very north in Norway, and we have no sun for 2,5 months. Summer is definitly easier, because of how tired we get tduring the wintertime. But to see the northern light, the snow and the stars, it's pretty magical too and it makes it worth it

I was 12 years old when I saw the sun for the first time on Christmas Eve. We had moved from Kiruna, Sweden's northernmost city, to south of the Arctic Circle. It was a strange experience to see the sun when you were used to darkness at that time of year.
First time I saw this, I miss It. I have moved from north of sweden (Arvidsjaur) to south of sweden (Örebro). I still visit once a year. My parents they are still living up there. I love your reaction! And to watch others reactions to your own country and how we live. And everything we are used to Is completely fantastic and unreal to others.

I also live in the northern part of Sweden. I moved here as an adult. The most amazing time of the year is early spring, when it's still cold and snowy but you can feel the sun warming your face for the first time in months. The ridiculous cold around Christmas and New year's when the temperatures plummets to about -30⁰C (about -20⁰F) and below is quite a thing to experience as well.

The things she speaks of, every swede can relate to, even south part of Sweden will experience it, of course not as much as the north but we all do go through the light times and the dark times. Something my foreign friends told me is that they used to laugh at Swedes during spring, because Swedes will sit outside in the sun and just look at it, its almost like meditation or a religious experience because we finally get a glimpse of the sun with warmth on our skin, but after living in Sweden and experienced the winter, they did exactly the same. The big contrasts makes you appreciate light so much more and you don't take it for granted.

I'm one of those people who live in northern Sweden with *really thick curtains* because I always sleep the best when it's dark around me ... but I also feel the absolute fatigue of winter darkness so even cloudy, grey and sad winter days are precious to me because it's at least *some* light. These conditions are a roller coaster for sure.
I have a suggestion for a video for you to react to btw. It's an old Volvo commercial that you can find here on youtube by searching for *"Volvo - Made by Sweden - Vintersaga".* The song in the commercial is in Swedish, but it's an *absolute mood* even if you can't understand the language. It pairs well Jonna's video to, since it shows just how magical late autumn / early winter can look here. Highly recommend it.
She's so inspiring. I dream away from my own life by seeing her content. Beautiful pictures of the landscape combined she does and her uplifting and motivating talks. I sure want to be there and absorb the everything. 🧘♀️

I live about 150 miles north of where Jonna lives and the summer is definitely the best part. The spring is awesome aswell but the summer is where its at for me :) The winter has its moments also but its so long and cold so when the light is returning with the spring its allways awesome. Definitely worth checking out more of her conten even if u dont react to them.

She is indeed very inspirational 💚 I try to connect and to live with the seasons for many years now, but the changes are not that extreme in the Netherlands, so I really admire her. I couldn't life in a city though, where I live the nights are still dark and quiet and nature is just arround the corner. Thank you for sharing this magical episode 🙏💚
I'd say the contrast is the best part. Both seasons are great but I think since Ive been into winter sports a lot I am kind of biased.
I love those bright summer nights but without the contrasting darkness in winter time O don't think I would appreciate the bright summers as much

You often hear that America is the land of the free. But this is what I call and believe what it means to be free.
If u come to Sweden in the winter, early spring u often see people just standing around with their eye's closed when the sun is out, especially if it has been cloudy for a while.
I don't live in the north, we at least get a few hours of sunlight (unless it's a cloudy day). But yeah winters can be tough and it's kind of a standing joke that when the sun returns, every swede goes outside and sits in the sunshine, much like a houseplant.

I live up north and the summers are amazing. The days never end and everyone have four-five weeks off spending time with friends and family. (Swedes have a minimum of five weeks paid vacation a year when working full time, a lot of us have more, up to seven weeks.) We go camping, hiking and fishing and garden parties usually last until morning. It's brilliant!
The Dark Cold windy Winters are the best.

She lives very beautifully, but what I can see, not in the area of the midnight sun. She lives at latitude 63, a bit north of the middle of Sweden. They have fairly bright nights there but not midnight sun. Theoretical limit for midnight sun is lat, 65.7,
I live at 66.
The high mountains and the small waterfall you can find at lat, 67.
We often see northern lights where I live, but further north you see the stunning ones ✨. Sometimes it is seen all over Sweden and when it is really strong, in some places in Europe.
It's hard to choose which season I like the best, they all have their charm. But spring winter can be a favorite, the sun is really warm and I sit on the ice, fishing. It's nice after a dark winter 👌.
The summer is nice but don't like the mosquitoes.
It was better in the past, now there are too many heat waves.
A really cold winter day, with temperatures lower than -30°C, is one of the most beautiful things you can experience - but you don't usually stay outside very long 🥶😄. Autumn up in the mountains, with all the colors... it's short but indescribable.

As a flyfisher i often travel to the nort of sweden to the mountins to fish for trout.. arctichar and grayling. Usually in juli. The midnight sun is very much present and brings som magic to it all.
When you live in place where sunlight is limited - you also really learn to appreciate when the sun shines :D
i love the polar nights as ure body goes into restmode and the northern light with the stars..its awsome,,but the summer is as good as the winter cuz u can go bathing or doing ure thing in the middle of the night although is as bright as day

I live in Luleå in the north of sweden and I just love these seasons. I am born in the south of sweden and moved here 21 years ago, and it took a while the get acclimated to the summer nights with daylight the whole 24 hours. And then the long days with just a few hours of daylight in the cold winter. I would not change it for anything.
When the suns starts to peak above the horizon late winter, you can see people stopping in their tracks, just standing, closing their eyes and soaking the sun light
I love the winter in my country (Sweden) as a photographer this time of year give me the most inspiration since its so dramatic.
-20, snow to your knees and the nature just gets so pure and raw. It will literally eat you up and spit you out in a heart beat. But if you work WITH nature it will give you so much back, I think this might be a reason why we care so deeply for nature.. And the benefit of Scandinavia is that we can roam freely between our countries, we are like an old Viking-family and I feel just as much at home in Norway, Finland, Iceland and Denmark as I do in Sweden.

I am swedish. Now living in the south but have lived in the north too. You asked want season we love most. I would say the all. I love the contrast and this contrast make mutch of our culture and temper. In the winter we not much socialise. We work and go home. Basically. And on holidays enyoj winter sports. But in spring we wake up and in summer there's is mucht parties and lots of sounds long in to the night in the neighbourhood's.

I'm born in the north of Sweden. But now I've moved south and are living at about the same latitude as Fairbanks, Alaska. I miss the north :p

🇸🇪 Thanks for your reflective thoughts. About 5.30: Actually prefer both light and darkness, the contrasts. I also live too far south for this vid to be my experience but I do know the cold and the dark. Many tourists and immigrants here focus on the cold part during winter, despite being easy to handle with layers of clothing. But darkness is a energy and mood killer for some (we locals are more tolerant, maybe generations of genetic selection saw to that). Still, longer dark periods are not for whoever as artificial light does not fully compensate the lack of sunlight. So, Nordic winters and the return of the sunshine are a great experience but some wouldn't use the word "great"....

I would feel so out of place leaving the city, but even since I was a kid, I've had dreams about places like Northern Scandinavia. There's something about it that feels like home seeing it from a distance.
I’m on the west coast of Sweden and light/darkness conditions aren’t that extreme here, but enough to having to make some adjustments during seasons. Winter is still considered to be a very dark period (6 hours of daylight). Summers are very bright, 19 hours of daylight. We don’t get much snow, which I personally think is boring, I would want lots of it to brighten the dark hours a little bit. One or
two weeks of good snow is the best we can hope for. It usually only comes like in a powdery style and is gone soon enough. But summers are longer than in the North (and winters shorter) so 🤷♀️… Summers are absolutely beautiful and can get very hot. I love fall the most but summer comes close.
HxC .Jonna lives in a town of only 10 Thats ten people! and her family has been living there for 12 twelve generations, in the winter it drops to 40 degrees below zero.,the ice on that large lake freezes over in Late Octobor.
I live in suthorn norway and we can basicly have polar nights cuz most of the time in winter we go to work or school in darkness and we go home in darknes and the sun is up 1-2h while we are working and being in school. But if you travle to svalbard you could find the darkest and lightest place on erth theyhave midnight sun for 99 straight days and polar night for 84days

After seeing this I put Sweden in my travel bucket list. I recommend reacting to LIZIQI’s canal too (The New Year one or using bamboos to make a sofa etc..) it’s just as beautiful and comfortable as this one where the girl (Liziqi) lives in a rural place in China and makes her own things, furnitures, cloths, foods etc.. I’m obsessed with the beauty of her videos.

She's almost like a nature spirit or smth, eh? My deepest desire is to live in the Finnish Lappland someday, its practically the same as those landscapes on Jonna's video. Well, it spreads even more north that the northernmost parts of Sweden.
Now I am living almost as south as you can go in Finland, right next to capital. We do have gloomy and dark winters here, too, but they are shorter and the snow on the ground isnt quaranteed for the the whole winter time. Its actually worse to have these dark, gloomy days without any snow or actually seeing the sun behind the clouds for days with a near-constant rainy weather, than having minus degrees but snow on the ground, as it brings at least some brightness durint the coldest and darkest period of the year. I also really love the changing seasons here, each season has its own, unique beauty and magic.
Daytime, no doubt! But as a farmer, I enjoy the free time winter allows me.

I used to live in Northern Alaska and it is beautiful like that...I wish I still lived there..and jonna..whew! Sweden's reputation for beautiful women is certainly true!

The wolf song was sang to three generations of my families children from my great grandma who came for northern sweden. In her journal she said on 4 febuary. I think its going to ne to hot for us here It was only 6 below 0 already in febuary. believe this girl is Swedens Aurora.
Here in Norway I can't pick a favorite season, I love them all for different reasons. If I were to give Jonna some advice for the winter since I'm technically further north than her, I'd say she should eat more fatty salmon during the darkest times, it's good for the health and it has vitamin D, really good for energy in the dark. Though it has to be good quality salmon with alot of fat on it.

Dealing with the winter is special, it makes us explode with happiness when the spring arrive and we feel the sun on our faces. Most swedes will be out in tshirts in 41 farenheit. Even 31 farenheit is magical when its been freezing for so long

Swedes love the sun, because we actually miss it. But for me the biggest problem in the summer isn't the light, but because I'm up very late it can be harder to sleep because of the damn birds singing much earlier!
