Embiid has been dominant though idk why ppl hate on jokic either. Both are playing amazing but embiid has been more dominant imo. Sixers are significantly better when embiid plays
Defense matters instead, and not playing defense all year (and relying on a great Nuggets team, that always steps up on D to relieve Jokic) is like a year off worth of rest compared to a guy that is dominant on both ends of the floor like Embiid, and who is the centerpiece of Philly's D.
even when you put missed games away (which you shouldn't, since that logic could allow a player who played just 1 awesome game to be MVP), jokic's numbers are just better. he's averaging 3 points less, but has 6 assists more. SIX! and in my (or any) book 1 assist >>> 1 point. plus, he's carrying a team crippled by injuries. jokic also has 15 TD vs embiid's 0. and he missed at least 10 TD by 1 board/dime. he has more DD than embiid has games. they aren't even comparable. at all. this is probably the most dominant MVP win in the history. arguing is just for show.

@@thedarkfrost2351 Bruh look up the defensive metrics Jokic is actually a very slight defensive plus. I get that defense is important but y'all don't realize the impact that Jokic's scoring and passing has on Denver's ability to win games. Look at the fact that a healthy Steph Curry is consistently ranked as a better player than Kawhi Leonard and Paul George even though both are better defenders then Steph. Steph's offensive impact is so elite that it still puts him over the top as more valuable and impactful overall even though Leonard and George are elite on both ends of the floor. In my opinion, the Jokic vs Embiid argument is similar because Jokic's offensive impact alone has a higher impact on success then Embiid's offensive and defensive value combined. Jokic really doesn't make the Nuggets much worse defensively, and even though he'll get targeted on switches a lot in the playoffs, he always seems to step up his offensive game when it matters.
Lol jokic actually sacrifices injury to not play defense, it will hurt them in the long run when they get crushed at the rim. Jokic's all around skill does not come close to Embiid's importance on both ends of the floor, I don't care if he can throw a few better passes around the floor.

I think Joker not missing a single game is an important factor, but I don't like it as the main argument because Jokic has DOMINATED Embiid stats-wise, winning-wise, load-wise... He's been doing it all and showing up in all crucial moments this season and PLUS he didn't miss a single game for his team.
Jokic all the way. He’s the most valuable player on the Nuggets, take him away and we lose. When Embid was out, Sixers still won. Both very good players
Jokic is a MVP not because he is so much better than any other MVP candidate but because of the IMPACT on the game of basketball ITSELF. He basically reinvented Center position ie. PGC - Point Guard Center. For THAT he should be rewarded MVP trophy. 👍
Shaq: "Luka's game winner not impressive", "Luka's 43 points nothing special", "Bogdanovic not a big loss for the Bucks", "Jokic is not MVP"...Does Shaq really think we don't see the pattern here or he just don't care. A good man is objective, does not care about somebody's race, religion, nationality, etc. A good TV commentator cares only about the facts. Facts are : Jokic contributes to 44 points each game for Denver Nuggets (points + assists) compared to Embiid's 36 points (points plus assists). Jokic is better in the following 6 categories, 58 games played, 57% 2 FG, 41% 3PT, 85.4% FT, 1.4 steals, 8.7 assists. Embeed is better in the following 2 categories: 30 pts , 1.4 blk. Even: Rebounds, Turnovers, team record. So even if Jokic and Embiid played same number of games, Jokic would still beat Embiid 5-2 in categories. Now to me the most interesting thing, Embiid: "I am the MVP, I have to win", Jokic: "I don't care, it's all about the team"...

Defense ?

Jokic is better in the following 6 categories, 58 games played, 57% 2 FG, 41% 3PT, 85.4% FT, 1.4 steals, 8.7 assists. Embeed is better in the following 2 categories: 30 pts , 1.4 blk. Jokic has been the best player this year so he deserves the mvp, the fact he hasn’t missed a game should make him the unanimous mvp.
