Thanks so much for showing an easy project with Tunisian crochet. I made a scarf 6 years ago using Tunisian crochet and it was very refreshing: A combo of knit/crochet. I may make this hat for a seafaring charity that gives hats and scarves to people working at sea over the holidays. Thanks!
Your voice was really nice to listen to, i felt like I was listening to a news reporter but in the best way hahah This tutorial makes Tunisian crochet feel very accessible as a beginner to it, thank you!!
Great job Naztazia as usual. I love how you truly take the time and show your audience/followers how each stitch is created when you do projects for us! Please keep them coming! Be blessed and be safe!
PS: I can’t get over how pretty your nails are and they match the yarn. You’ve inspired me to focus on my nails now that all my outdoor gardening is finished for the season!👍😀
Donna, I just love this hat and I think I can do this, just need to pick up a hook! I love the way Tunisian Crochet looks like we've stayed up all night and knitted this hat. As always, I just love all of the patterns and fun items we can make through your wonderful tutorials!
@@mimidalemonk7415 Depends on the yarn you use. I used impeccable acrylic yarn by loops and threads. That’s not a real stretchy or soft yarn so it holds its shape well. The teenage daughter loves it. If you make it wider it will have more slouch and weight. I also did not add a pom-pom to it
I LOVE ALL YOUR VIDEOS! THEY ARE VERY EASY TO FOLLOW. I USE THEM IN MY CLASS AT SCHOOL WHEN WE DO CRAFTS!💕I HAVE A BIG FAVOR, ANY CHANCE THAT YOU CAN DO A VIDEO ON CROCHETING A DOG SWEATER? If you could that would be awesome!!!
Hi Donna this is a lovely pattern for my first Tunisian project. When you say in row 2 that its Tunisian stipple stitch is that just for that row or is it rows 1&2 together please ? Thank you xx
Thanks! Tunisian crochet is a bit different than regular crochet in that each row has a "forward pass" and then a "return pass" since we don't turn our work. In the video, there is listed a Row 1 forward pass (going from my right side towards my left side) and then a Row 1 return pass (going from my left side back to the right side). Same with Row 2 - there's a forward pass and a Row 2 return pass.
Hello! I am doing this pattern. Your instructions are very clear and the fabric that is being created is beautiful but it is really curling badly. Do I need to frog it?
Curling shouldn't cause a problem in this pattern once you sew the back seam together. As always with Tunisian crochet, it's a good idea to draw up each loop nice and tall on the forward pass. This will keep both the front and back side of the Tunisian stitches even, which prevents much of the curling.
Hi! I love your pattern but I have a question for you. I'm working on the hat and when I count the stitch after I do the row where I pick up the stitches...I always come out with 47, not the beginning 48 stitches. Is this correct?
Boa tarde minha querida, estou começando o crochê tunisiano agora eu entendi a explicação da parte debaixo perfeitamente, por acaso ficou faltando a explicação da parte de cima? Me desculpe mas não vi a explicação!
The 21 inch measurement shown in the video should fit an "average" women's head. You can take it and wrap it around your head before you seam it to ensure it fits. Other sizes and adjustments to the pattern are listed on my website (link is in the first pinned comment of this video)
The brim and crown part are made simultaneously on every row. The first 10 stitches form the brim, while the remaining 38 stitches form the crown on every row.
If you look at the front of each of the stitches, there are two loops. You can see this at 1:25 in the video. One is more in the front and the other is more in the back. Instead of turning the work to the back to find the back loop, you can still look at the front side, just place your hook towards the back and insert it into that back loop.
@@naztazia ill try again thanks. Also I was looking at another video on how to make the stitch and it says SC bind off you didn't do that here so it's not some thing we have to do for this project
Curling should not pose any problem in this pattern. If there is any curling after you make the rectangle, it will be fixed once you sew the seams together.
I get them whenever I can find them! I have links on my pattern page for online sources (first pinned comment). Other than that, occasionally you'll find them at (USA stores) like Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Joanns, etc.

Do you have a video of showing how to sew the sides together?
Yep - this video should help: th-cam.com/video/plb1nHriu7U/w-d-xo.html
That’s Great,. Tx
Do you have any suggestions for how to size up the hat for people with massive heads? Chain 68?
There are other sizes, including to fit a 24" head in the written pattern (link in first pinned comment).

Boa tarde! Em cada linha, os primeiros 10 loops criam a parte inferior do chapéu. Os pontos restantes na mesma linha criam a parte superior do chapéu.
Wooow ilove it thanks ... want to made one for my 6 years girl how many stitches will i start pls !?
The instructions to modify for a toddler or older child are on my website (link is in the pinned comment of the video).
@@naztazia thanks alot
Ok if I’m understanding it right u work till the brim measure 12’’ then continue with just row 3 to end. Is this right
The pattern looks beautiful and simple but I dont see a stitch count for children sizes. Please share. Look forward to see what you create next.
The written pattern (first pinned comment) has stitch counts for several more sizes, including children's.
Would using needle longer than 10'' be a problem?
No problem at all :)
Muito lindo 🥰
How do I know if it's going to fit before I close it. Thanks

What if i dont have the long needle? Can i use the reg needle
You'll need a Tunisian crochet hook to fit all of the loops on it.
@@naztazia Thank you so much for answering my text. I will buy one..😀
Is the brim part stretchy?
Yes, definitely stretches nicely.
I have never seen this type of crochet before what size hook did u use i have actually never seen a hook like that either
Info about the hook is in the video here 0:11 Online sources for it are on my website (first pinned comment).

Hi i kind of lost on the brim and crown part. Didn’t see on the video
The brim and crown part are made simultaneously on every row. The first 10 stitches form the brim, while the remaining 38 stitches form the crown on every row.

How do you prevent it from curling up do I use a bigger hook?
Curling should not pose any problem in this pattern. If there is any curling after you make the rectangle, it will be fixed once you sew the seams together.
