What’s the best way to wrap half dollars? I don’t see anything besides the wraps online. Was hoping to find a plastic tube that helps the process. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TYIA
Hey there! So after I search each roll, I reuse the same wrapper the coins came in, I just carefully remove the wrapper when I go to hunt the roll. You can buy wrappers online but that cost will add up. Good luck in your hunts
Hey Ohio Stacker! The weighing is really only helpful for finding 90%. The 40% weight difference is so slight that it's tough to tell. I found like 9 40% halves in rolls the other day that never weighed over 225.8grams. My lowest weight roll ever that had silver was like 224.1g. It had a magic coin (so it was super light) and a 40% silver. Nice hunt though! Any box with silver is a win!
Yea I’m learning that trying to weigh the rolls to get an idea if there is silver or not doesn’t really pay off lol awesome find on the magic coin! I’ve yet to find one!
@@ohiostacker in my videos I always remind people the weight gives us an idea of what might be in the rolls but we will never know until hunt them. As for magic coins I think I am up to 4 or 5. Retail those things are like $30-40.

Great video! I'm a beginner, any advice on a perfect long-term strategy of how to pick up the boxes from the bank and where to drop off? will the bank allow a repeated pick up and drop off over and over for a regular account, not a coin dealer. Will apricate your comment. Thanks
Hello there and thanks for watching and reaching out to me! Every Bank is different when it comes to allowing customers to pick up full boxes of coin. I would suggest have accounts at multiple banks and ask which ones would allow you to coin. And as a tip, never dump your unwanted coins at the same bank you pick up coins. This keeps you from searching through coin that you yourself has already been through. Hope this helps!
Nice Silver Proof 2 Months ago i found my first 90% Silver proof a 2000 S! And your not slipping sometimes Rolls with a 40% does not always weigh heavy ive noticed.

First it's good that you have a business account and the bank lets you order as much coins as you like. That helps. I don't know if your a silver stacker or just looking out for specific coins. But I will tell you the tips in 20+ years of coin roll hunting myself. First of all you must have seperate bank you "order" your coins from and a seperate "dump" bank you return your unwanted coins to to get your paper currency back and repeat the process. It's ok that your order coin bank might have a branch of that bank to return the coins that you don't want. But never ever return the coins to the same bank that you ordered them from. Yes, it will certainly piss them off in the long run, then you will have bad reputation with your order coin bank. So never do it. Second, if your out just to stack silver, the best denomination is the half dollar. Reason why is that the half dollar is never used in circulation anymore and your chances of finding silver is much greater because of that fact. Also when you find a silver half dollar, you obtain more silver than any other denomination of corse when compared to dimes or quarters. So always go with half dollars when trying to silver stack by coin roll hunting. If your trying to stack copper, Cents is the way to go. All cents 1981 and earlier are 95% copper and 5% zinc. As of today every 95% copper cent is worth around 2.5 cents in metal value. Don't return any of them back to the bank even the 1982 and later which are zinc cents with a copper coating. They are 98.5% zinc with a copper coating. But they are almost worth one cent in zinc weight. So seperate the copper from the zinc but keep them all if you decide to buy a box of cents. Lastly there is the nickle. It is wise to stack nickles now because the metal value of the nickle is greater than the 5 cent face value itself. A nickle is composed of 75% copper and 25% nickle. There is no sorting through the coins because the composition has been the same since the government first producing nickles. Right now the nickle is worth around 6 cents per nickel and seems to keep climbing due to industrial use like batteries, tesla cars ect...a good sourse of what the metal value of coins are is a website called coinflation. Check it out. I hope this helps you a lot. And good luck.

A few weeks ago, I ordered my first $1000 worth of Kennedy half dollar coins from my banker hoping to find any 1964s or below. After 5 days, I received them and to my surprise, both $500 boxes contained brand new Kennedy coins 2022 edition. Needless to say, I was so disappointed! I wonder how did you get those old ones in June when the new 2022 Kennedy half dollar coins are already out? Was it plain luck your bank just happen to have old coins or did you specify you didn't want the 2022 edition? Thanks.
It would be almost impossible to suggest to your bank that you do not want a certain type of year coin as the boxes are sealed when they arrive. Coin roll hunting is just plain luck. I have received several boxes full of all new coins, which I return to the bank and order more boxes. Good luck in your future hunts!
Can I go to pretty much any local bank to find $500 box of rolled halves? Wandering where you go to get them. Just live in the next state over in Indiana. Thanks!
What I find is that to get boxes or coin or to even be allowed to order boxes, you need to be a member of that bank. Most banks do not carry half dollars or have any on hand unless a customer brings them in. Best of luck in your coin roll searches and thank you for Watching!
You’re not slipping. Weight always varies because coins always vary. One tip is to not weigh on that towel. There is some give to it absorbing some weight vs the scale and it will weigh slightly light. Nice hunt regardless.

Not just a proof, but a cameo. I’d drop it in 100% acetone and see if that haze comes off without rubbing. Also, in that same roll there was an edge that was really smooth. Was that the “ugly” one?
@@bostonbashers2008 sorry you feel like these boxes were staged. You are 100% wrong by the way. Only reason I have opened boxes off camera is due to the numerous times I get boxes and they are all uncirculated new halves which is a bummer and are taken bank to the bank immediately.

Use a half dollar coin holder fill it turn it over and slide the holder off you will have a stack of $10 ready to wrap !!
