Loisaba Conservancy is using Cactus to Generate Biogas.

  • We have gone into the conversion of ''invasive species'' into valuable resources - gas & fertilizer.
    Example in Laikipia, IN Northern Kenya, we have setup a 25m3 plant in Loisaba Conservancy, that consumes 400kg of opuntia prickly pear cactus. The gas is being used by the rangers who previously had to consume a lot of firewood in efforts to protect the Conservancy.
