    If Ubisoft can recreate wildlands, keep the benefits of Breakpoint, and listen to the community, we could have one of the most fun tactical open world games on the market.

      I think they need to lean harder into the survival mechanics. Maybe as an optional game mode. Where the rations and stuff you make aren't just for buffs, but to keep your health and stamina up. Maybe a few other effects of less than stellar nutrient management. Both Wildlands and Breakpoint felt perfect for something like that. You spend long amounts of time in the sticks trying to avoid direct contact with the enemy until you need to... You gotta get hungry at some point. lol

    The game on release faced a problem many games are facing nowadays such as BF2042. Higher ups who don't care about the game only the profits forcing devs to rush the game out the door. It was very impressive and showed me that the devs cared by the end of this games life cycle. Complete different game than release (same with BF2042). Maybe studios that make our favorite games will start making good games because higher ups can't be so controlling after the failure they've had. I need to see if AC Mirage is true to what UBi says it will be, because if so then GR can be what we've always wanted. Excited for the future of gaming, the next BF game is already in development and if that follows the same path as AC Mirage and the next GR, we will have a very fun future for gaming.

    A few things you should probably know.
    In Operation Motherland you actually aren't fighting Wolves, they're a separate faction called the Bodarks, of which there are I believe 5 different troop variants with the basic rifleman, two heavy troops, one having a rocket launcher, operators that can call for reinforcements, and the Seekers, which wear optical camo cloaks.
    Your Optical camo by default doesn't recharge at night. You can collect points in crates scattered around the world to upgrade it. The crates will be marked on the map with a kind of half-moon symbol. You can upgrade the camo by clicking on it in your inventory.
    Breakpoint was a pretty decent sandbox game, but it was significantly lacking in the environment, and especially in the story, even with the Motherland update. While the game looks good, especially at night, and in the arctic setting, even the darkest night setting isn't dark enough to be an obstacle. It always looks like it's dusk even when it should be the witching hour.
    If Ghost Recon is planning another entry I do have some major suggestions.
    For one, if possible, they should consider reverting back to a linear campaign like Future Soldier.
    If they absolutely _have_ to do another open world game I have an idea that I think would benefit them greatly. Don't just make it one setting. Instead, make a bunch of different small open-world maps that focus on one specific biome (desert, arctic, jungle, urban, etc.) that are separate from one another and take place in different regions around the globe, each having their own main objectives that all tie in to one main objective. For example, you've got a wide, sprawling arctic tundra in the Arctic with some bases few and far between, but to contrast the emptiness you can maybe traverse it on snowmobiles. Then, you can have another map in some city in Turkey where it's small but incredibly dense. Maybe it focuses more on a concealed method of recon by having you walk around during the day dressed as a civilian. My point is that you could have these specialized environments that stress different styles of play and are also visually distinct rather than having the blank canvas approach they took with Breakpoint.
    An odd request, I know, but it would be nice to be able to move faster while aiming down sights. I don't want to be sprinting but if there was a mode you could toggle to allow you to hold an angle and move towards it at maybe slightly less than regular walking speed it would make the gameplay a little more tolerable for some sections.
    Additionally, focusing on something a little more grounded in reality would benefit them greatly. The drones in Breakpoint were by far the worst part of the game. They interrupted the tactical gameplay and locked rewards behind gear score, something that was wisely removed with the Motherland update.
    Focusing on an enemy with their unseen influence on the world being the threat rather than automated drones that, in light of recent DARPA AI tests, are extremely unrealistic even from a science fiction standpoint not only makes the game engaging as you play through it, but a lot more personal.
    Just some points of thought. I know that Ubisoft can put out a good Ghost Recon game, but they need to embrace what makes it appealing to its existing fans. Make something Tom would be proud of.

    • @GodlyPlayer9163
      @GodlyPlayer9163 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I always wanted them to do smaller maps but more. Mainly because in Breakpoint the Swamp biomes were so good and so immersive and felt like nature that I wanted more of them. Same with snow/arctic ones in Breakpoint they felt just perfect.
      Wildlands did great urban/og Ghost Recon style and how much it reminded me of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. They need to stop making every game a super open world and revert to what worked better

    • @witherwolf3316
      @witherwolf3316 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GodlyPlayer9163 I agree wholeheartedly, I always liked the swamp and the arctic, they were really the only areas with any character. As for urban centers, they didn't do a very good job in Breakpoint. Liberty City is really the only thing even remotely resembling that and it's just a bunch of big, empty buildings sitting on an artificial lake. In fact, every structure, compound, etc all felt extremely artificial, especially the ports. What I liked about Wildlands was that the world really felt lived-in, especially in the populated areas. It probably had something to do with the presence of civilians in the world just walking around, doing stuff.
      One thing I do want to point out that Breakpoint did decently well was the outfit system. It didn't quite have as much customization as it could have, but it was by far the most intuitive and clean by UI standards between it and Wildlands. However, having to meticulously explore the entire world, opening every box, or just buying them from the store was incredibly tedious, and the DLC store was even worse. Some of the best outfits in the game are locked behind hours of grinding or a paywall. If you were given more options, or maybe unlocked outfits by completing themed missions where maybe you had to wear them to go undercover that would be cool, and cut down on the grind tremendously. However, they should also add a few more slots to the cosmetic interface, in my opinion allowing you to have two top layers so you can wear a shirt under a jacket or another top layer, and we could also use a layer for neck items so you can wear a mask that covers your face and a something like a shemagh around your neck. And for the love of god we need more palettes. 5 Just isn't enough.
      If I had to make some suggestions for new biomes they should try maybe going for some kind of forest in autumn would be nice, it'd be a welcome change of palette from the dull greens and greys of Breakpoint. Maybe they could play around with a location where it's really urban but you can't go around all tactical, you have to dress like a civilian and carry concealed gear while you try to investigate something. Ubi's got a really IP here, and I really want to see it reach its full potential.

    GR Breakpoint has many flaws, but I still kinda like the game because some aspects of it are really great. For starters, I think the fictional Auroa archipelago in the South Pacific is really well designed with diverse, beautiful landscapes. With hardcore settings the game also works reasonably well as a tactical shooter. There is tons of tactical gear so you can play a little bit of "operator dress up" (honestly I spent way too much time on this). One of my favorite things in this game is picking a random objective to clear on the map, driving most of the distance, hiding the vehicle, marching (i.e. walking, not running) the remaining kilometer or so and than silently clearing it. Shit get's really atmospheric.
    Unfortunately, the game has a lot of wasted potential imo, and the fact that Ubisoft tried to turn the Ghost Recon franchise into a The Division clone initially certainly didn't help the game. Many people probably never realized that it can be played as a tactical shooter nowadays. The storyline is mediocre, the addition of bullet sponge drones really does not work at all when played as a tactical shooter, as opposed to the gear level RPG loot shooter that the game was in the beginning. The enemy AI can be quite dumb at times and I hate how every civilian just freaks out when they see you.
    You really gotta focus on the good sides to enjoy this game.

Really focus in on the single player and co-op tactical gameplay, and also I'd like to see a first person mode that you can toggle between on the fly. There you actually have a Rebel faction that you need to help improve and can request their assistance (additional squad, diversion squad, mortar support, reconnaisance, etc).
      Fun fact, in the original games, the Ghosts were an element of the 5th Special Forces Group. But in the newer games they changed that aspect for no good reason.

    I think the biggest mistake they made with this game was not including ai teamates at launch. One of the things I liked the most about Wildlands was the back and forth chatter between Nomad and his ai teamates. They would give their take on missions and talk about old combat stories. They would alert you to enemy types, choppers incoming, civilians nearby etc. They kept the story interesting, I always looked forward to hearing what they would say about the next mission or the next zone. Breakpoint just drops you in alone as Rambo and the story really suffers because of it.
    I wouldn't look forward to another Ghost Recon game any time in the near future. Ubisoft can't seem to complete any game any more and they're kinda getting ran into the dirt by poor management.
