    I saw this show the night after he(along with Iggy Pop) was busted in Rochester. Pre-internet, so there was just word of mouth buzz that he might not make it to the show. I'll never forget the experience of 15,000+ screaming fans gasp and then go dead silent watching Un Chien Andalou. Then there was the 4+ minutes of blinding white light pointed straight out at the crowd along with Stacey Headon's screaming feedback intro to Station to Station. An evening that will stay with me forever.

    It was my first rock show too. February 25 1976 Montreal. I also was 14 at the time. The songs I remember the most were Stay and Fame. A show that will last a lifetime. Musical genius. The thin white duke. RIP Mr Bowie. You will live within me forever.

    Best Bowie live concert recording ever! I first bought this on bootleg in Amsterdam in 1979 and it's been a favourite ever since. I was disappointed with the official version when it came out with the remastered STS - they had mixed all the excitement out of it

    • @noelcampbell1672
      @noelcampbell1672 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Totally agree the bootleg is by far the better version. the crowd are as high as a kite even more than Bowie on his cocaine lol. And The This White Duke is by far his coolest looking personas.

    Is it just me or does this song really always sounds better live? It seems that they simply couldn't capture the immense energy of this song in studio.

      Whenever I saw Bowie live the songs were always more intense I think that was his game plan from the start. Last time I saw him on The Reality Tour he blew the roof off the place. The show got more intense as it went on.

    My first concert, 14 years old, went with 8 girlfriends since all my boyhood buddies back in '74 were homophobes. Show started by showing Salvador Dali and Luis Bunuels surrealistic film Un Chien Andalou. I am not exagerrating when I say that this show changed my life.

      have seen it twice in The Netherlands , maybe your friends were still in the closet because in the 70's gays didn't understand Bowie and didn't like him , there was a time that nightclubbing gay bars and discos was a sort of trend has to do with the sexual revolution I guess anyway the typical gay didn't like him Ziggy to them was a freak instead they were into disco and loved the disco period of Grace Jones '' I need a man '' turned them wild very conservative people so much different than the Warhol gang ......

      Patrick Gallagher ...think it was 1976 for the ISOLAR II tour in my city. Heavy industrial town, entire country could be considered homophobic because back then the homosexual lifestyle was not embraced or marketed the way it is today. Consider how rapidly music was changing during that decade. It went from early rock to psychedelic to heavy rock, glam rock, disco, punk and the start of techno. It is unfair to label your “buddies” as homophobes, maybe they were slow to evolve but I doubt they were “homo...”. The very coolest girls I knew back then loved Bowie, the more industrial types loved Mick Jagger. By the way, 14 years old? From what I can remember most 14 year old boys back then did not go to concerts , instead they did “boy” things. The popular TV shows were Happy Days and the Brady Bunch NOT Will n Grace or QUEER EYE .

    No comments about the $7.50-8.00 ticket prices? After inflation this was very reasonable. This was before corporations took over the industry and force fed us the biebers and taylor swifts. $$$ today, back then pure talent.

    As with most picture montages on TH-cam the pictures are never left onscreen long enough and always include some pointless effect like the zoom out.
