This is awesome! I saw a similar way to do this using a pi and rfid read writer but it was a much larger build with a lot more power consumption. Im so glad you put the time to get that down so small and low powered! Its super portable now and I love it

HID iClass cards are pretty secure, my college uses them. I read up on possible ways to spoof cards but it seemed like more trouble than it's worth. From my understanding the iClass cards are powered by the reader and perform multiple cryptographic operations on the card itself in unison with the reader
The Mifare? 13. Something frequency? Anyways I guess I'm 6 months late on finding this video and comment lol is it already out I'm looking for that kind of reader and writter
I take it back. Seems Mifare has been cracked and you can now manipulate (and to some extent clone) the card. The device you're looking for is called the Chameleon Mini.
fun game to play with coworkers: bet them $1 their RFID blocking wallet can’t stop you from copying their work badge with your keyfob. 90% of the time it works every time
In the beginning of the video you had an LED screen that displayed the serial numbers off the cards and RFID devices. Can you link to that setup/hardware? Great video - would love to see some PoC.
The card does not have an transmitting antenna in the traditional sense. If you're familiar with power line sniffing it's very similar. The tag basically shorts the coil which the reader can detect.
They mention how small a credit card form factor is, so why not try an even smaller set like a grain of rice, with an nfc or rfid implant. Then you can't forget or loose the card and it's harder to be sniffed.
I love your videos. Half the time I don't understand most of the stuff that is said. Lol Great for getting some knowledge. Hope you guys keep making videos.
Mifare support in the next revision would be great. All rfid cards I have are Mifare Classic 4K. Would love to be able to clone my entry cards or put them on a single device.
I brought the blue 125khz copier off amazon and it was not able to copy a single fob. Having read a little more into it there seems to be lots of different frequencies and protocols. I have 109 airbnb properties that all have different fobs and I need to find a system that will allow me to copy them. If anybody can point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it.
Why am getting notifications of new video months after the fact, when on the site to buy one of these and sold out, l was going to comment about how fast it sold and find that video is from October and it is March
I don't think so. They mention that during the video and because there's some type of electromagnetic requirement for the communication to work right, long distances won't really work. I think he said Max 18in at most.
But it all depends of the specific rfid types and distances and how much of the data you want to grab (there are 4k+ mifare cards)-the tollway tags have different techs in them (extag and other state ones), the old ones had a battery and read a signal to know to turn on and broadcast but the new ones are all passive I think.
I know that most train systems dont compare the data coming off the rfid against a centralized database, so technically backing a train pass for oh say the boston T would technically be a crime o.O
I worked in security and program the cards and readers I can see this being able to break into buildings and carparks. It is a great idea for the end user but I can take someone else's card when they leave it around and can use it to get into their building and lifts and doors
Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38
You guys should look at pentestbox. It's a windows command line application that transforms cmd to a Kali Linux-esque environment. It has all the regular linux commands like cat, grep, ls, etc... It also has the kali tools like setoolkit, aircrackng, metasploit, etc... It would be really cool to see you guys do something with it.

As if anyone was using RFID to protect anything remotely serious. Call me back when they break MIFARE Plus X encryption.

HIGHLY disappointed..

Me too.
Yes. This video was completely useless and a waste of time. And with realkyyyyyyyy bad audio.
Would thos be able to copy a cars key fob?
As a delivery driver I so need this. Fn apartment complexes and ppl not giving the right code or won't answer the speaker buzzer

I like the episode. Back in the saddle again Dude. Thanks to both Darren and Elliot. . . .
Now this is what I have been looking for! As someone in the access control industry this is such a fantastic little tool.

Did this through my cell phone & all the other 47 fobs id came back as my fob & our apartment manager was pissed...
When will the higher frequency model be available? Want to be able to clone mifare classic / desfire etc ;)
Waiting for revision 2, really want that mifare support!

This was honestly a GREAT interview!
I'm a total n00b here. I find this channel amazing, It has opened my eyes to how vulnerable our daily tech is if we don't take proper precautions.

The RFID cloneing is a known thing with data security and physical security but it's treated like a old style key that can also be cloned
Yay!! I was just looking for a rfid read writer. Probably will get this
App store has em...
Please more of this pleeeeeeeaseee
I've been wanting to play with RFID for a while now, this seems pretty useful
if you guys don't get it back in stock soon I'm just gonna have to hobble it together myself using arduino.
Super awesome!
