The besti thing? Your excitement and happy smiling face throught the whole trip 😊
Awwwww thank you!!!!
Hi from France, i enjoyed the whole saga, the wind, the rain, the heat, the language/cultural barrier that you so easily overcame, yeah great little series of vlogs.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks so so much x
This is only the third video of yours that ive watched and I just want to go out and get a bike. Ive never ridden a road bike before! The smile on your face in this video somehow was contagious.
Favourite part ? Loved all of it !
Felt your passion, excitement and adventure
Lovely to be part of your journey
Thanks Katie. I played your day 6 video to my 18 yo granddaughter who wants to get into serious cycling and she was anamoured with your love for cycling and you crying with passion. She gets enough passion from me.
The whole trip was a joy to watch. The heat, rain, difficult climbs, dodgy bike shed, all of it was relateable and highly entertaining. Above all your attitude and enthusiasm are contagious. Thanks for sharing!
Favourite bit!
The mountains of cause!
What views!
Lovely to see you smiling as soon as as it got steep!
Top job! 👍
The best bit…. You being immersed in the mountains, the cycling and the communities. Loved it. I want to ride from London to Piraeus when I retire, via Brindisi or Bari… maybe you could do some reconnaissance for me 💕😂😂
You made it and shared your journey and inspiration ❤
I hope you're not the last time in Spain, so probably it will be useful to know that Spanish post offices (Correos) have the service for bike transportation. In big offices they have cardboard boxes for the bicycles, and you can send it by mail both inside Spain and abroad
but what is the price of shipping it with them though? I once tried to send 1kg box from Spain to Finland and it as quoted 50 euros. A bike in a box would be about 13-15 kgs
@iamruss74 It's a special offer ‘Paq Bicicleta'. Inside Spain the shipping is a constant price for about 50 euro. Maximum box weight is 20 kilos. I sent my bike 2 times and never seen them measuring the weight, so I've packed it way more than 20. Also, it includes 15 days of storing the bike in the post office. With international delivery things will be way more expensive I guess. At least if you’re looking for the cardboard box for your bike, you know where you can buy it :D
@@untubus1 thanks, I will need to investigate this feature then!
Looking forward to La Route des Grandes Alpes (lots of 'cols') 😉
No favourite moments, just loved it all Katie!! Thanks for taking us along.
A fantastic video series, Katie. Your love of cycling, your enthusiasm, the passion you have for the outdoors is infectious. The ride looks amazing, as a 63 year old just getting back into cycling, your videos want me to get out onto the bike and ride.... Once I overcome my fear of riding on Devon roads.... I think an Alps trip would be amazing. Keep doing you, love your videos.
Favourite part? loved it all, but the ride down off Tourmalet, the views the sound track, just brill. Congrats
Thanks Rob!!
I've been completely captivated by your trip through the Pyrenees. Thanks for sharing your time there and The Rocks!
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
“Two Fanta Lemons - go wild” …. 😂
Thank you for taking us along - it’s been great! 🎉
Ah the Ultonia. Was there a couple of weeks ago.
Excellent series, epic ride , looking forward to your next ride !
I'm just glad you're still cycling and posting these cool videos ! You are truly inspiring !
All of the videos have been awsume however your honesty is my favourite the fact you have slowed down appreciated the time spent the beautiful scenery and more a holiday vibe than a get to next destination as in race 🏁 the worts and all good and bad you always show us you and many people will not fear going on there adventures because you have been a trailblazer.. who shows people at there best 👌 👍 😍
I have absolutely loved watching all your videos, you are inspiring and the enthusiasm contagious! I love how down to earth and 'real' you are. I'm about to head off on my own adventure to ride some of the climbs you have done...solo travel, it is the third time I have done it completing Ventoux and Stelvio/Gavia etc previously. Be more Katie, I say!
I enjoyed the entire adventure. Thank you!
Like you said , an old English guy taught me how to spin proper, a random met rider riding the same route as I in Northern Scotland- way back when. Still think of him 30 years later whenever I do a cadence count. Gem of experience! Thanks Katie.
Your happiness makes me smile. I can't wait to take my first bike tripping trip.
Katie, What a nice little bonus and concur that the help and support from Trek staff is amazing, they are truly helpful which is why I enjoy riding my Trek Domane and will be popping into Trek Poole next week before I do the Garmin Ride Out… See you there…. 🚴
Thanks for sharing KK. I guess the take away for the series is "just do it," with planning of course.
Loved the whole series. Next time, try the Dolomites (Corvara, etc.) or the French Alps (anywhere). Favorite parts were all the rides you did from Col d'Aubisque to Seix -- exactly the route we took 10 years ago. Nice memories. Amazed you did it on your own. Chapeau!
Congratulations on completing this wonderful adventure with such a joyful spirit. You're a real inspiration!
As I was offered to do the Transpyrenées this summer and I said no because I did not trust myself enough to finnish properly I remember vividly the “Book it” sentence. Great lesson. I also remember your thoughts on how far time goes and made me think… and cry a bit.
I loved it all. And I have talked to my cycling mates and we are now planning a trip to the Alpes thanks to your mantra of "You just gotta book it". Thanks a lot for a great series.
YASSSSSS! Go do it
Brilliant series. You should do more of this type of adventure Katie. Your passion is very inspiring. 👏 👏
ABSOLUTELY WILL BE DOING!!!!! Lots more of them for sure
I've loved the whole series. Great stuff.
I’d be happy to get a wave and hello riding round the hills above Rochdale - you’re so very inspiring 😊
Simply inspirational. Enjoyed every minute. Do another please.
Thank you! Will do!
I enjoyed your happiness the most! 😊. Keep finding it, makes you glow with life & fosters more adventures. 😊
Such a lovely comment thank you 🙂
@@KatieKookaburra Looking forward to your next ride!
I consume so much fizzy pop when out on. a trip! I always keep one safe in my bag for when I get to camp as a dangling carrot to get there at the end of the day. So nice after drinking so much water all day. Really enjoyed following along on your adventure, thanks for sharing x
That was a fantastic series thank you Katie so much for sharing ❤❤😊🚴♀️
You should move out here and everyone knows Calvin, he's the best. Glad you enjoyed it so much.
I think I rode that road from Girona to Rocacorba and back. Figueres is where the Dali Museum is. Girona is wonderful.
Can't wait to hear how you planned this all out at home!!
Wooohooo it will be out next week :) complete with the full guide of GPX files, places to stay etc if you want to do it yourself :)
Absolutely fantastic journey, with such eloquence, and beautiful commentary. You are an amazing content creator. And from my point of view, a lovely human as well ! Much love from New York.
Wow, thank you! That is so sweet 🙂😍
Congratulations for your trip in Les Pyrénées, your videos are great, really inspiring 👏👍
Why not ride to the plane when in a cycling paradise! (And great weather!)
I used to think that I was a completely different kind of cyclist to you, but I now see that we are not so different, we both just love riding bikes, any excuse to do so. I loved hearing you talk openly about how you love riding solo, stopping when you feel like it to take in the natural beauty that surrounds us.
I must admit though I don't get quite as excited about rocks as you 😂
So to answer your question - my favourite part was hearing you talk so openly about what cycling means to you.
The beautiful villages and mountains were also nice.
I’m impressed how reliable the bike was no charging required 😊
I loved this whole series. Your excitement was so fun to watch. That is so cool you ran in Keira McVitty. I have been following her for years too. You two should collaborate on a trip together.
Thanks for a great series, Katie. I really enjoyed your narratives, making it possible to share in your special adventures in the Pyrenees. I simply don’t know how you do the riding, recording and editing… just in time fire the next day. Might that be a topic for a future video?
P.S. My TREK dealer here in Port Coquitlam Canada is exactly the same. Tessa is amazing… always helpful far beyond expectations.
Thank you so much for sharing your adventures, love your content it is a highlight and inspiring me to ride😊
Well done! Thanks for sharing.
Two fantas...wild. lmao. Nice videos my friend, loved the series.
Haha why thank you 😌
❤love your enthusiasm!❤
Thanks for showing us the trip and how to do a point to point as im planning a north to south trip in Italy next year but it would be my first point to point
love this place.
Seen the beauty of the Pay Basque
Travel tip - Apparently you can buy bike boxes at most Air France kiosks at airports. I alway worry that I won’t be able to find one for my return flight.
Really enjoy these adventures, never rode over seas guess I've missed out! Look forward to the next series 😊
Glad you like them!
This was a proper Adventure . More Please
Definitely!! THIS is what I LOVE!!!!
More trips please.
Watch my video up today at 4pm…. Got a BIG one.
Favorite bits:
1) scofflaw cows on climbs
2) GoPro footage on descents
3) that hair in the bonus episode
🤣 awww glad you liked!! 🙂🙂🦁
The best bits were your cold wet days when you still managed to take joy from being on a bike in the mountains.
Girona is such a hub for cyclists good way to end the trip, favourite bit the views. Maybe some Italian climbs for a future trip.
"bloody wild" 😂😂😂 Love that your empowering women to step out of their comfort zone.
That was fun to watch!
There's no doubt you were born to ride Katie!
love to get more info on girona..planing to move there...
This has been a great series, loved it and great advice if you want to go wider afield, chapeau
Hard to choose … the entire series was brilliant! Well done on completing this fantastic adventure and creating such high quality videos. Looking forward to your “planning” video to see how you pulled it all together! 🚴♂️🍊⛰️🌞
Yasssssss!! Aww thanks so much. Planning video will be up next week :) planning the planning video and guide for it x
Have a safe trip home
Heyy from Sydney, Australia.
Actually couldn't pick a fave part but what i liked the most is your "fun for life" attitude and your love for cycling.
The whole adventure was bloody brilliant.
I have just watched it all through again.

Loved the whole trip❤
Fantastic adventure, keep them coming. I've always wanted to take my bike on a plane but worried what to take , tool , spare parts etc and choosing the right place.
Your hotel also has the best rooftop bar in Girona, don't tell me you didn't know 🤣
Thanks
Awww thanks for this :)
@@KatieKookaburra love all your vids. Especially the Girona ones but enjoy them all. You’re so easy to relate to. Keep em coming! 😀
have a good trip to get back home Katie
Loved all of it but as I've got a 'carry on' sense of humour, I chuckled at you chuckling at the cock and balls spray paint job. 😂
Dear Katie, you have inspired me to pursue 5 days of touring along rail trails In Western Ontario. 5 % max inclination.... Boring for you, but a delight for me. Cheers!
That sounds amaaaaaazing!! Have the best time
Your trip through the pyrenees looks super awesome. I wanted to ride from Alsace to Catalonia this summer and then probably go back to Cerbere to take a night train back to Germany... but my plans didnt work out... hopefully next year... I AM KIND OF JEALOUS!
Next year!! Get it booked x
Great trip videos, everybody is riding with you! Glad you stayed safe. Wee question, what rear cassette ratio range do you use? Roger in Spain 77
Hills and hills great vlogs series skinny k
Possibly imagining you trying to explain to that French shopkeeper that you had been stung on your bottom by a wasp!😅 Poor you though!❤
🤭
Why not moving overthere, it would be permanent heaven 4U😊 loved this series , well done
Really enjoyed all elements of your journey and looked forward to it every day. Not just the cycling which is great but also where you stay and how nice it is when you get to a stop and get a nice reward of Orangina and a bit of food. Thank you so much its so motivational.
Thank YOU Ann for watching and supporting. Loved loved LOVED this!!
hi, nice to watch your adventure, I do have on question, what do you have to take off your bike to get ti in the box, and is it easy to get back to one ridable bike again ? 🙂
All of its been great. It was so fun to see you having so much fun. One question- did you take the bike box to the train and then to the airport? Or did you find a car to take your big ox and you to the airport?
Love your videos, thanks for sharing! Do you find it difficult switching from riding on the left in the UK vs. the right in Europe?
I’m from US and I think I would get messed up looking the wrong way and turning!!

Just heard, you're going to be awarded a Paris 2024 Gold medal for conquering the Pyrenees. Well done
No tears on the Podium Katie
Awww thanks John, come on there’s always a few happy tears 🥲
@@KatieKookaburra True, Happy tears, let them flow :)
No champagne at the Ceremony, but they're supplying Orangina & a box of tissues ! Have fun

That Fanta makes me wanna get a pop myself
two fanta lemon??? you're wild :)
This just dropped in so you did ride the last col on the D914 on the border.
Haha I surely did! Wooohoooooooooo one last col for me
I’m off to girona later this year? What was the name of the sushi place 🍣 🍱 😋
How did you get the box with your bike in it to the airport? Wasn’t it heavy, awkward, won’t fit in a cab ?
😊
All the raid has been Fanta_stic; for the next trip, (I know I'm biased) a climber's experience isn't complete as long as she does not try herself... on the Dolomites... it's not so hot there, so many rocks you love so much. (But forget the solo, they are overcrowded now, you better join a group tour).
Why didn't you ask the bike shop to keep your bike until you got back so you could ride back ?
I'd be interested in cost per day?. Lodging expense? What is a good value price for a room? Could you see your self living in southern Spain?
It varied quite q bit anything from 40 euro to 150 per night. Mainly tried to keep it low :)
Great tip re Trek thanks - what did you do with the first bike box after you'd arrived in France?
The hotel recycled it for me :)
How did you seal the bike box? Fab series 👌🏻👌🏻
Ahh I did go and buy tape from a nearby hardware shop. Brought the rest of it home for the next trip :)
Why Fanta lemon in Spain? I associate Spain with oranges and Italy with lemons….
mmmmm, i love last of this video, coz u are so pretty
what make are h
