    I love it when you cook Indian food. Being form Canada it's not a traditional food for me. But yet it is one of my favorites. It is also great that you show us that it dose not have to be so hot that you can't taste all the wonderful flavors. By the way making it Keto is excellent for those of us who are living that life style.

    I doubled up in this recipe as had 950gm of chicken. Worked out very well. I added three dried chillis. Large ones. Instead of the two from the original recipe. I also omitted the green chilli as this was scaring me thinking about the family. After adding a fair amount of very thick double cream and a little bit of extra thick coconut milk , I was still struggling with the spiciness. I had to serve this with some yogurt. Everyone loved the recipe however! It was easy to follow and the spiciness even fine for me without the cream. I even sneaked in some cauliflower into it to get some extra vegetables hiding in the sauce. Saved and added to my Keto folder. Top work Sahil.

    Made this the day before yestery - had to wing it with some of the spices as I had some of them only in powder form - but OMG, it was SO good! I substituted the heavy cream for some lactose-free 'cooking cream' from Alpro - and it worked! Will definitely turn this dish into a menu staple! Yup, absolutely D*Liscious! :)

      Headbanger's Kitchen all the recipes are great! I'm going to make the cauliflower pizza tonight. Our 5 year old son would happily live on nothing but cheese pizza, and if this means that I can sneak a vegetable into his tummy without him spotting it he can have it more often ;) my granddad was from Trinidad and I have his love for all things spicy, and I picked up a lot of tips from my dad's friend from Bombay, but I'm new to this lifestyle so not much of a clue how to make it keto friendly. So many thanks once again, and that's enough jibber jabber from me :D

    Hello! I am very fan of your channel, and i have a question: what spices would you add to the caulirice in order to perfect match this delicious dish you've prepared?

    • @HKKetoRecipes
      @HKKetoRecipes  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly I just cook it with some butter and salt. I would say you can fry some cumin seeds along with it to give the caulirice an Indian twist but just plain works too.

    I have a request. I lived in Hawaii for 9yrs and fell in love with the food there. One thing I miss being on keto it's the spam musubi, spam has added sugar and so does the sauce plus rice is involved, then its all wrapped in seaweed paper. My request is: would you try making a keto spam musubi?

But, that little color photo in the upper left of the page never shows up, just a blank square where the photo should be. Is that a problem on my end or yours? I have actually in plenty of them. Hing is used more in South Indian cuisine and not so much in the north Indian cooking. So yeah if you check out my south Indian recipes those have hing.

    Can you use cream cheese instead of the sour cream and heavy cream, if all you have is cream cheese and you don't feel like running out to get what you used? I figured some one may have asked the question already, but I didn't want to have to read through everyone's comments to see if they asked.

      haha sure, you are the one eating it at the end of the day :) It will just adjust the flavour a bit. I guess you'll let a cheesy jalfrezi if you do that. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing :)

    Cheers from Minnesota everyone! Quick question... what if I can't get fresh coriander leaves or curry leaves? Is there any substitute?

      Wtf? Seriously? What about Curry leaves, we don't have those in Minnesota.

      SomeGuyFromStPaul Hit up Asian markets - the only place in my town I can find them is at a Philippino market for some reason. They freeze reasonably well if you find them, so get a big bunch, wash and dry them completely, strip the leaves from the branches, then put the leaves in a Ziploc. It's not AS good as fresh, but just use a few more frozen than fresh.

      Given the number of Indians in the USA am sure you have a local Indian grocer somewhere who has curry leaves. Coriander though is Cilantro so I'm sure that's found everywhere.

    Any recommendations for a vegan replacement for the chicken?

      Tofu should work, you can also just use cauliflower or broccoli florets as well. Even some cubes of roasted eggplant.

    Very tasty but... The macros are way off. I use Carb Manager to track my food and I entered the ingredients based on using a food scale for everything but the spices that are measured in teaspoons. I used half and half at the end, not heavy cream. I used chicken breast (my wife won't eat dark meat). The macros are (round numbers): 36% fat, 5% carbs, 59% protein. This makes sense when you think about it: The only fat in it is the ghee and cream (half and half), plus whatever the dark meat would add. Defininely not "keto" unless you add some fat. The macros in the recipe are expressed in grams, not calories per macro. Doing quick math, the recipe itself is similar to the above.

    • @HKKetoRecipes
      @HKKetoRecipes  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can you post your macros here? You know Keto is just a metabolic state right? Your food doesn't have to be 'high fat' for you to stay in Ketosis. The balance of fat, protein and carbs is up to you. For example if this main has more or as much protein in it as fat then you need to figure out what else to eat with it to balance your meal. But as long as it's low enough in carbs to keep you in a state of ketosis, it's KETO. :)

    • @HKKetoRecipes
      @HKKetoRecipes  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry just saw your macros. I calculate and work macros in grams and not % but either way there is nothing wrong with the % system either. And from what you posted that's fine. It's low carb enough to keep you in ketosis. TO make this more fatty YOU can add butter on top, eat a fat bomb for dessert or use fatty pork instead of chicken. Your ratios have changed because you used chicken breast but that's not an issue. Like I said Keto is a metabolic state. How you balance your meal is up to you :)

    • @emmgeevideo
      @emmgeevideo 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Headbanger's Kitchen I made a similar point about having to add some other fat. If you’re trying to lose weight on Keto, you need to stay close to the 75/20/5 macro ratio (to achieve the metabolic state) and be in a calorie deficit. If you add enough fat on a side dish or fat bomb to get closer to 75/20/5, you’ll only get a small portion of the main dish because the additional fat will add a lot of calories.

    • @emmgeevideo
      @emmgeevideo 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Headbanger's Kitchen With respect, macros displayed in grams is misleading. The guideline is ratio of calories contributed by the three macros, not ratio of weight of the macros.

    • @HKKetoRecipes
      @HKKetoRecipes  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I disagree, I use grams and my MFP automatically shows the % as well. Plus I calculate my macros in grams so I am counting mine based on grams not just % I use both. Now I use MFP so am only going to put up macros as I use them. Beyond that people are free to figure out the % like you did in your app :)
