My mother-in-law, Sarah, raised her voice so loudly it could be heard over the sound of the waves. “What do you mean? We’re going on a luxury cruise together, right?”
I responded, but Sarah curled her lips into a nasty grin. “Did you honestly think someone like you, who’s worse than a maid, could join us on this trip? How ridiculous!
