The more I know about the Alpha Legion, the more I like them. The concept of a supposed loyalist legion inside the Chaos ranks with a secret plan is quite attractive indeed but I think is more suitable to the setting (being all grimdark and with a touch of tragedy behind every story) that, even if they started as actual double agents during the Heresy, they've become more and more entangled in their own secrecy to the point where in 40K, Alpha Legion doesn't have a defined goal anymore and they just _think_ they have one. So they're actually chaotic (as in opposed to order, not Warp-like) believing they're loyalist acting as traitors.

Question: where is all the Navy lore? I have been watching a lot of Battlrfleet Gothic armada 2, and I really enjoy SciFi in general. Can you guys do lore on the starships in that video game? Or, are the models in the game made up or lacking in detailed lore?

Oh thats a complicated can of worms. The legion is broken up into cells or their own version of anything from a squad to a full blown chapter. Each opperated independantly of the others and when alpharius “died” a second time everything went to hell. Some are full blown chaos. Then theres the sons of the hydra, a cell that fights against the imperium but are still loyal to big e or humanity at the least and believe they are just pruning off the weak parts of the empire so the rest can flourish. Then there was a massive faction that was being led by a c’tan....... In short, alpha legion does what alpha legion does.

Most Orks are easily manipulated, something that the Alpha Leigon knowns how to do...and that was before the Horus Heresy.
