I have never been so tempted to pull for Lyney until I saw this video with his party animation Edit: I pulled for him. Thankfully, I was guaranteed and also got him early at around 20-ish pulls. I was originally planning to go for Neuvilette but I'll just skip him and save up for Furina for now. Goodluck to those that want Lyney!

I didn't realize they remove the tail on Yae Miko, so I agree with A, easily S if it stays like beta Hu Tao is best for me, it's cute and fit her character so much.

I have an entire Hyperbloom team made of bottom tiers (Alhaitham, Electro Traveler, Beidou, Xingqiu) I will say I at least appreciate that the Traveler has those constellation particle effects from their idle. Back in the beta they didn't even have those particle effects, so their select animation was by far the worst one. With the particle effects it's not so bad.
Love how no content creator agrees on the "it looks like their idle" being a good thing or a bad thing because some characters who just have their idles are put in higher tiers the others have their idles but revamped but are lower. Like some of them are taken from skills or burst, nobody even judges the ending pose or how it looks like at the end because Beidou's looks really cool just swapping to her in the Party Selection screen because of her stance but up close it's really plain.
I feel like creators just don't know all the idles. They mostly use their faves, so they have no idea about other characters 🤷♀️ As someone who plays with all the cast just to get lvl 10 friendship and has seen all of the old animations many times, it makes me kinda annoyed they used them in the team swapping screen. I don't understand why Xianling gets that cool animation, while some of the newer characters don't. Sure, we remember she had a similar movement in the Liyue reveal trailer, so maybe they just took it from there, but still. Hoyo's favoritism is kinda showing 😂
Yep. What they don't understand is that people will still pull, even if the MC is cool,because they want to experience more mechanics and new characters. Like, look at HSR. The MC is soo cool. They have an interesting personality, a nice outfit, and are actually usable in the game. I still wanna pull on the banners, but at least I won't be empty-handed while I build my new faves
Agreed, cuz it also can have the “what character would mesh with the Mc? Hmmmm” kinda thought. Part of why I pulled for Kafka was her connection to the Trailblazer, that they function fine together, etc. Hydro Traveler being so horrible, I don’t feel compelled to get Lyney or whomever to go with them, and I just use the blocks for puzzles, so HMC is essentially a wasted slot due to their mediocre utility. Even with the new mechanics it does nothing to make me like the HMC at all. Even the thought of getting a better whatever pneumousia element HMC is, I don’t care since I can just ungabunga everything with my actual fave characters. New or not, HMC is fucking terrible, why would I waste a slot on another kit I have to waste a fuck ton of mats on just to make them USABLE, not even good?? And reminds me of my disdain for them making everything so Paimon-focused, I keep on having to wonder and ask to myself, “what on fuckin Teyvat is the point of having the Traveler be a thing at all beyond being nothing more than a plot device??”, cuz at every turn they refuse to do anything with them. Mediocre kits, mediocre animations, very little screen presence, minor opportunities to present a personality, and no customization. At least something like Monster Hunter World lets you make your own character and make them look however you like since all the other characters take precedent in the story. Genshin doesn’t even do that
Zhonglis animation should be a or s. His animation perfectly sums his character, an elegant, mature gentleman. But I dont judge him, everyone has different opinions.
I would've given Zhongli S if they used the pose from his Splash art and he held the small version of the meteor the same way, that art is so cool and shows his personality really well after all we have a couple of elegant characters but Zhongli is first and foremost the god who is one - if not the strongest warrior amongst the archons. I think he deserved some of that badass tone that Raiden also received as a warrior-type archon.

Listen, I hate the bastard child Xingqiu for being in every team comp recommendation on the planet, but everyone putting his intro into low tier is just so annoying. It's perfect for him, and no one seems to be taking "is this representative of the character" into account. For me personally I think it's B tier minimum. This applies to Alhaithem, too, really. Tho he can be C
i know this is completely subjective but kuki and sayu in A while lynette is in S is very… hmm. raiden in S also screams bias imo (which is also completely valid i’m just observing)
Honestly, even at their worst, at least these animations are in-character. It just that I want a little bit more than a plain animation or a reuse of their idle animations. Like Beidou's could be a mix of both of her idle animation from drinking her wine, toss the bottle and turned while cracking her knuckles. The Travellers and Baizhu could add Paimon and Changsheng for a bit of interactivity. Dehya could yeet her greatsword at the screen and ready to go full knuckle on your ass. Alhaitham could use his mirror shards to help in his deductions like in his character demo. Just a little bit to add some pizzazz. And it's so disappointing that Amber doesn't have her Baron Bunny. Now it just looks odd when pairing with Collei.
Fischl with no Oz doesn't feel right. Idles as their intro are too simple. If you get Diluc's 5 star costume, you should automatically get a better intro.
