The ESPN 2k Baseball series still has the best commentary

Animations in the game are awesome.

On face surface, yes the animations looks wonderful. But if you truly analyze the animations, they're not "awesome." There's still a lot of work that needs to be done and certain terrible animations needs to be removed from the game.
For one, the pitching arm motion doesn't truly resemble a real pitching motion. The follow through on the arms are unfortunately too slow. Look at real footage of a pitcher vs batter in action and you'll see that MLBtheShow's pitcher's arm motion is too slow. Plus the follow through of the body's upper torso lacks the "force" needed. If someone in real life pitches like a character in MLB the Show, the ball will never reach 90 mph at all. What MLB the Show's pitcher does seems to be in slow motion, warm up pitch.
Secondly, there are lots of throwing animations that is simply off. Check the arm follow throughs.

I've been wanting to know for some time the name of the songs for these season games in MLB The Show. Can someone tell me? I can't find it anywhere.
Can you turn off quick counts in this game?
Game looks better graphically then a few of the ones that came after noticed that players looked less realistic

soo Pumped to get this game looks soo good lots of good improvements from 14 just need to hurry up now it doesn't come out in Australia until the 3rd of April and i have already Purchased it from Ebay so just need the post gods to hurry up and put it in my mailbox hopefully by next Friday i will have it in my hot little hand my PlayStation 4 needs to get ready for some serious playtime

Pitchers delivery animations look soooooo slow.
That is just Masahiro Tanaka's delivery, a lot of Japanese pitchers have slow deliveries to trick batters

TheWeallstandup Yes and I'm not talking about the windup, I'm talking about the delivery. Pitching is a violent motion and the animation makes it seem really slow and easy for all pitchers, not just Tanaka.

corkyrules1 There's an option in game called 'quick counts' that starts at-bats with a random number of balls and strikes. It was introduced for those who want faster games.

yes, huge difference in my opinion. Plus the roster is up to date.
That's stupid, how baseball is played, now... The balls n strikes should always be reset to 0-0, for every time the batters come to bat at the plate, until they are out or they walk, the way baseball used to be played.
1-2-3 they're out, 1-2-3-4, they walk.

What happened to placing your pitches? Lots of lagging here. And the characters and animations look no different than from 2011.
Why 60fps?... this game is running 30fps max.

Birdman44 The Yankees have never had names on their jerseys. They've worn the same home uniforms since 1912 and the same road uniforms since 1931.
The Red Sox do not have there last names on there home jerseys but they do on there away and the Yankees have never had there last name son there jerseys
I don't really see a difference in the graphics for player models. The players and music is all the same, it's pretty much the same as MLB 14. But I rate it 8.5/10 IGN.

Commentating is still bad but and improvements to just graphics and the fans is pretty much it. Also, why in gods name would they give stephen drew a standing ovation, he batted .162 and .179 so far this year LOL

This is why I cannot play this game. It is too realistic. If I wanted that I'd grab my glove and go outside. MVP Baseball 2005 was the best baseball sim ever. That is what we need again. Faster gameplay and none of the fluff they add into the games nowadays. Boring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, that was a bit harsh. Anyways, I played baseball my entire life up until high school. Sorry, I know pretty much everything about it. When I want to play a baseball game at home, I don't want to watch something that's basically a live broadcast of a real baseball game. I just want to play. None of the baseball games that have come out since 2005 have kept my interest. They're just "blah" to me. I have an idea of what I like and will spend my money on, thank you very much. I play more than just shooters.
I guess that makes me retarded or something. Grow up kid.
***** We're two peas in a pod. My exact feelings/thoughts of the over realistic-ness of sports games now. I don't have endless hours to play anymore since I've grown up and have responsibilities. When I was a kid and could play 6+ hours a day I'd be fine with it now, but it doesn't fly with work, kids, gym, etc etc.
chocoloco654 I agree with you on the sport itself, but mainly I want a game where if a pitch is made and I swing and miss, the ball is already waiting with the pitcher to be thrown again. Reduce all the fluff and I'm down with it.
