Hello James, I found your channel a couple of months ago with your PS3 Dev kit video and I've been watching a lot of your other videos and they are fantastic. Your channel reminds me a lot of early youtube days where the videos were of a different kind, more personal sort of style and I can tell you enjoy making these and sharing knowledge, I think it's great. Keep up the great work and I look forward to your next video! :)
Don't know if you read comments on your older content, but I just noticed that on that OoT cart you assumed there was a 5 yen price reduction. What it actually shows is first the full price with tax (税込) and then the price of just the cart itself (本体) below it. So your friend paid 105. I don't know what things are like in the UK, but in the states I know that prices w/tax are seldom seen on products (because sales tax varies by locality, I imagine), whereas in Japan the price w/tax is the default and seeing prices without tax is much more uncommon.
@@yoshielectron Taxes must be set at the national level then eh. And yeah, any time. I note you say in a lot of the videos of imported games you could do with a translation. I don't know about whole games, but maybe a box, title, screenshot or something I'd be happy to help. Cheers~
If Snap Remastered becomes a thing, would they add more levels and all Gen 1 Pokemon? They could possibly add the next gens as the sequels. Maybe even share the pics around social medias or printing- as it used to be once upon a time available, but made modernized.
would you happen to know where to find a replacement 74LV2416 or if there is a modern equivalent i can buy? im having a hell of a time finding one lol. Either way thanks to all the info, you have already pointed me in a better direction :) i just want my f zero to work lol
Post game messing about may or may not include attempts to make MM human Link shoot lazers, or make Mario throw explosive fireballs at Goombas. I would however confirm a lot of weird comedic codes for fun. Mario riding a backwards Yoshi into space with Endless Stair music instead of Shell music. Sure is weird, but I like to chrissen the gamesharks with a dose of insanity before I try the epic masterpieces. Just to see that it can handle it... And so I can get a laugh outta it.
Hey YE, interesting video. Do you have any advice - I tried changing the battery in our copy of Doubutsu no Mori, because the in-game clock wasn't updating. After desoldering the old one and putting together a makeshift battery holder for the new one, the voltage across the terminals seemed to be fine, but now the clock resets back to 1st January 2000 or something like that whenever the game's booted (as I recall, the date/time actually varies a little, sometimes shows 2000, sometimes 2001, and sometimes the animal at the start tells you a different date/time to the one set in the settings). Anything you'd recommend checking? Might I have busted the clock chip or something from soldering iron heat?
I've only just started to look at the test contacts on that game's board and found that test point 4 to GND should output about 2KHz signal so it would be worth checking that.
Dude you would get a massive following if you did ASMR videos. It still works out better that you do it unintentionally because it ruins the experience when people try to hard
That sheet music book was beautiful! Even if you didn't play an instrument it would still make a great collectible.

Thank you for your comments :) I've always tried to be original and varied.

Thanks for explaining. In the UK, prices always include tax unless it's for business (e.g. ordering office supplies).

Really interesting to see the Japanese versions of the games, and I completely agree I wish Snap had a sequel, such a missed opportunity.
They still could make a new(remastered?) Pokemon Snap game for the Switch.
Fire Marshall Bill Burns They could, and it'll be great as the Switch is a good console, fingers crossed!

Didn't know you played piano, James. Very interesting... ;)

I couldn't find any for sale online or equivalent so unfortunately you would have to take from another cart that has that chip working.
You should do a project video where you try to fix the ocarina of time by replacing the copaciters and the other parts in it n stuff
You wouldn't happen to know how to fix a Gameshark Cart would you?
I kinda wanna mess around with my favorite N64 games' code.

What is the exact issue with the Gameshark?
