In the manga lance didn't even say he had a sister complex. He just told mash that was his sister but mash kept taking out of context. The anime added that line because they thought it was funny I guess 🤷🏿♂️they a little weird when it comes to that. Now that I think about it, the teachers don't really *do* anything, huh? I think everything that's shared between this and harry potter is more of an homage, especially in the ironic sense. Taking the seriousness of harry potter and turning it into a comedy. It's effectively a parody of Harry Potter. Not stealing, more like making fun of Harry Potter (hence why Mash has no powers and beats all magic users.)
Mash is in a way a parody of the "why didn't they just use guns?" idea. The Wizarding World is so obsessed with magic they just ignore everything else.
Mash even comments in the first episode how everyone is using magic to do what they could just do with their hands.

Well, think about it for a second. In order for a ball to act like a boomerang, it would have to spin extremely fast - so fast that it creates its own gravitational pull and revolve around that. For Mash to be getting dozens of points per second would mean the ball is spinning like a super tornado of death, at hyper sonic speed or greater. Magic is prohibited in this sport, except with the use of the broom for flying, so none of the competitors can even go near that death ball without being pulled in via wind pressure and torn to shreds.

Mash is the strongest character in the show. The final antagonist literally had to ascend and transform into a higher being to hold his own against him. The main antagonist has 7 sons that are stronger than all the divine visionaries and mash flattened all of them and embarrassed the main antagonist strongest son. Thats why people calls him the Saitama of this universe and that's because he is. He toys with his enemies and then proceeds to body them.

I think Roshi is right! Think about it...if the ones without marks have no magic why would the magic society care if they live or die, i mean they are harmless if they cant do shit? BUT, if losing the mark actually mean that ALL YOUR MAGIC is converted to RAW POWER AND STRENGHT....now THAT would be a huge problem since almost all of the wizards have pratically no physical attributes. Everybody who played some RPG phantasy knows that when a Warrior comes close to a Mage...dude the fight is over the Warrior will clap the shit out of the Mage.
