  • The 2016 Honda HR-V aims to capitalise on the growing compact SUV market. Available with a 1.5 litre petrol or a good 1.6 litre diesel engine, this highly practical car boasts 470 litres of boot space. A quality interior teamed with modern exterior makes for a good combination.
Can the 2016 Honda HR-V take on its rivals in this highly competitive class? We find out.

This was a great review as all your previous ones I've seen.
I own a Qashqai, I'm considering changing cars. I really like this Honda HR-V. A bit pricey , well... so is the new Qashqai..but this Honda is ''perfect'. I read Dominic Joseph's comment and he wrote that the diesel sound was very intrusive around town!! I'll keep this in mind when I test drive it next week. I really want to buy this one....so I better love it when I test drive it !!!!! Thanks again for this great review.

I own an american '17 HR-V. I think this guys review was spot on. I just wish we had the euro headlights and diesel option here, that would make my HR-V perfect!

Another excellent informative unbiased review, as usual. It looks fantastic in white. Test drove one yesterday for over an hour. Whilst u enjoyed the drive. I really wanted to love this car. But couldn't. I just don't like the rear quarter end styling. And the diesel sound was very intrusive around town and on open A-roads. I loved the little Mazda CX3 Sport Nav. But rear space and boot was so cramped. But think I'll choose the CX3 when I get rid off my thirsty 1.2DIG-T Juke.

      What are the differences?

+ldawson103 By the way, you can buy a Mustang or Camaro around $25000 or a Porsche Cayenne $58000 or BMW 550i for $65000. Cars in the US are very reasonably priced and cheap. Anyone can easily afford those cars.

+Sener Songur In the UK we do get taxed a lot on cars. :/ Even cheap cars are not really that cheap.

In the 1990's Honda produced the orginal small suv and brilliant CRV mk1 which even today is a perfect balance of basic simplicity, practicality space and performance, still got our 1997.
Bought the later one which is good but we still hang on to the old girl.Test drove this HRV today and what an absolute pile of uningspiring underpowered dullness even in S mode (Shoot me please) was embarressing that a major manufacturer as angus says allows a car like this to bear the Honda Badge. Who the hell are they employing who passes a not very well thought out vehicle. The centre console is awfull seat uncomfortable steering a rudder. Oh one good thing the brakes a great, so sharp they throws you through the windscreen.Relief!

nothing like the aussie version, we get 1.8 litre, no gps, no radio knobs, wooly vague handling and unprecise electronic steering. diesel awd manual would be better
