Lastly, this is *beam finals* after all and with the effects of having no one-touch warm up, *anything and everything can happen,* so this prediction is probably 80% wrong! I am fully against the no one-touch warm up rule as it "irritates TV broadcasters", especially when the FIG claims it *prioritises athlete safety* (a reason given for the low value given to Simone's beam dismount in 2019). I agree with you 100% that this no touch warm up is dangerous. The temperature in the arena is also an issue! These girls are in temps designed to hold thousands of people, which would of course elevate the temperature! But Japan didn't account for this and its just wrong! Simone can definitely medal if she hits, but as you stated this "is" balance beam and anything can and will happen! I'm routing for all, but would love to see Simone, Larissa and Suni, in no specific order
I think if Guan Chenchen hits, she can definitely take gold because of her difficulty, the problem is that she is very inconsistent, we don't know if she will crack under the pressure. Same goes for Tang Xijing, if both her and Guan hit, they will likely take 1st and 2nd. For Simone, she's likely going just for a double pike dismount since MyKayla said she won't do any twisting, so her difficulty will likely be lower in qualifications, she might need a bit of luck in order to win. I really want Larisa to medal, but I'm worried that her injury might hinder her performance. Suni has a great chance of medalling if she hits all her connections and maintains her execution, I really want her to medal in every event she's in. Valda can also factor into the medals if she replicates her AA beam performance. Overall, it's really anyone's game to medal, I think this beam final's gonna be very nerve-wracking to watch. My dream podium, provided everyone does what they're capable of, is: 1) Guan Chenchen 2) Sunisa/Tang Xijing 3) Valda/Larisa/Simone

She had a great shot of bronze, or even silver there. Still, that doesn't take away the fact that she's the most decorated female gymnast in these Olympics
I'm thinking with her air awareness issues (the twisties) she will go with her easiest. Too many outside this sport have too much to say! They have no idea what happens when mental blocks are in play and that in this sport, mental is just as, if not more important than physical! There are SO many amazing gymnasts out there who just can't compete under pressure so we never even know their names! Simone is and will always be the 🐐!! (I'm a little sad she didn't best Latynia's medal count because that era is so outdated in skill level) But we know she could have!

Hi!! I won't be able to create the video as of now, however the difficulty value of this routine is *7.7 in the 2017-2021 CoP!* In the *new 2022-2024 it would be 7.8!* I would really love to make a video on this, so if I have forgotten in 4 months time when I'm active again feel free to drop a reminder! 😅

But on one of her Instagram (Ask me a question) recently, *she said she will continue gymnastic, she just need to get back on shape and it's not over yet.* And knowing how strong she is a she can still go for at least 4 or 5 years since she's 24 now. It's rare for most gymnast to continue after the age of 28, 27, 29 .... that's why I said that

I agree. I can't remember, which discount she did in qualification (was it a fullin double tuck?), but the landing wasnt good. If she downgrades the dismount and lands it better, she could probably still get a good score.
@@nathanielhalls1893 I personally don't think she will have twists in her dismount. I don't know which non-twisting dismounts, she capable of doing, but it could be a double tuck or a double pike. Or maybe just a single layout and go for a clean landing.

Idk what happened with China! Their consistency on UB and BB usually helps make up for FX and VT... it just seems like the world it surpassing them even on UB.. I hope to see them medal at worlds!

I wonder what happened to them... as the Chinese have hardly ever fell below the Top 5... and usually is a contention for medal... but the last international, where Italy overtook them as Third... the Chinese spirit seemed to just evaporated... and they are, individually, as gifted as any other gymnasts... Indeed, Guan Chen Chen here has a level of skills that even Simone Biles can't match... I really wonder what happened to them, psychologically... since it's not about their skills, which again are world class...

This is the gold that slipped the last time around, so there's no words to describe how much she deserve to get this one after everything she's been through to get to this final.. - Not to mention how she's been so supportive, and genuinely happy for those who have medaled through it all..
Suni’s routine was very pennalized in this OG. Her best E score was 8,0 in qualifiers. I think Larisa is a very good contender for the silver or bronze if Guan Chenchen hits her routine. I talked with Larisa’s physiotherapist and he said me she’s ok! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
So many people speaking as if you all are professional gymnast and you know this sport like the back of your hand. First and foremost don’t cut a person short because they’ve set out due to something many of won’t understand mainly because 98% of you aren’t gymnast. No matter what dismount Simone does just the courage to get back in this game is courageous enough. Her ability, training, motivation, and dedication is why she’s already made her mark in the history books. She could have ignored her awareness and continued on but due to people before her whom has done that she sat it out. However, while the world ridiculed her she supported her team. Even though she was down she still uplifted them. All this chatter about she won’t medal why don’t you wait to see what tomorrow brings when she takes center stage to compete . That young lady has nothing to prove to anyone as she said before her gymnastics speaks for itself. No matter who wins gold silver or bronze hopefully it will be one of our ladies from the USA. We are so quick to knock a person down for doing what some of us wouldn’t do because the pressure would have made you compete and possibly end your career. Sometimes you just have to be wiser.

Since you're Chinese, or Chinese American, I am just curious as to YOUR THOUGHTS as to what happened to the Chinese team (both male and female but especially the female, since they were expected, at the outset, as a having a chance to get a medal... if not a Silver then a Bronze... why/how did they fall all the way to 7th?, especially with the fame Liang Chow from Iowa (head coach of Shawn Johnson and Gabby Douglas) as head coach of the Chinese women's gymnastics? And, yes, THIS GIRL shown here on this video could do things not even Simone Biles could do... So, again, what do YOU think happened to the Chinese women here? I feel so bad for them.... these extraordinarily gifted gymnasts.... having to return to a Communist country like China, where image (to the outside world) is everything and personal thoughts and feelings are nothing, a country that plucked these poor girls as tiny toddlers from their families over a decade ago & brought them to some central training center, where these young women's entire lives revolve around... It's such a tragic situation.... now they've failed so badly, IN THE EYE of the "correct leadership" of China....
@@kiabtoomlauj6249 Well, actually I’m not either a Chinese or Chinese American, and I follow WAG only so I don’t know about MAG. But here is my opinion. First, they pick the wrong gymnast due to political reasons. Their are three groups in the national team belonging to different coaches. Some of the coaches have more power to decide who to compete, and they only want their own gymnasts. Also, they have to pick gymnasts from powerful provinces. Moreover, some of the gymnasts injured so badly but they didn’t have good recoveries. However, they were forced to train and compete in bad conditions. Some of the mistakes in Olympics might come from mental factors, but I think their injuries affected them too. I know that these aren’t the only reasons, but are what I got from Chinese media and Chinese fans.

Anyway, thank you for your thoughts. And, well, you pleading seem to have affected the Mandate of Heaven, as the old Chinese rulers would have put it: Guan Chen Chen and Tang Xijing got Gold and Silver, respectively... That should go a long way to assuaging the anger of those Communist coaches although, I suspect, head coach/coordinator Liang Chow's likely on his way back to his Liang Chow Gymnastics and Dance in Iowa, good ole' USA... with a quite, small send-off.... And that's likely a good thing for Chow, since he's never going to see eye to eye with his former country or countryman, since he's been in the US and has been an American citizen for over 3 decades....
I'm sorry...Guan Chenchens routine is so much easier than the others. No way should it have that degree of difficulty for Leaping so much... girls doing such insane tumbling on a 4 in beam and that's what gets the highest value? Pretty sure any of them could do that. Maybe not as gracefully, but It didn't impress me whatsoever.

It’s because she has a lot of connections. Those leaps and jumps create combos which means extra bonus points; it affects the difficulty. Chinese routines may not have a lot of individual elements, but they are good at connecting their moves if they hit and if they are consistent.
She should have stayed home and taken care of her mental issues. Is gymnastics the only dangerous and stressful sports in Olympics? Why is she the only one causing a stir and unwanted attention? Don’t wait until the last minute to make known she can’t compete . She created dramas and attentions at olympics which not everyone enjoy watching!

Honestly I think Tang Xijing will get a medal. She lost a team medal and an AA medal so she will be fit and ready to fight for a medal on beam finals.

I feel so bad for them.... these extraordinarily gifted gymnasts.... having to return to a Communist country like China, where image (to the outside world) is everything and personal thoughts and feelings are nothing, a country that plucked these poor girls as tiny toddlers from their families over a decade ago & brought them to some central training center, where these young women's entire lives revolve around...
It's such a tragic situation.... now they've failed so badly, IN THE EYE of the "correct leadership" of China....

@@kiabtoomlauj6249 Well, actually I’m not either a Chinese or Chinese American, and I follow WAG only so I don’t know about MAG. But here is my opinion.
First, they pick the wrong gymnast due to political reasons. Their are three groups in the national team belonging to different coaches. Some of the coaches have more power to decide who to compete, and they only want their own gymnasts. Also, they have to pick gymnasts from powerful provinces.
Moreover, some of the gymnasts injured so badly but they didn’t have good recoveries. However, they were forced to train and compete in bad conditions. Some of the mistakes in Olympics might come from mental factors, but I think their injuries affected them too.
I know that these aren’t the only reasons, but are what I got from Chinese media and Chinese fans.

And, well, you pleading seem to have affected the Mandate of Heaven, as the old Chinese rulers would have put it: Guan Chen Chen and Tang Xijing got Gold and Silver, respectively...
That should go a long way to assuaging the anger of those Communist coaches although, I suspect, head coach/coordinator Liang Chow's likely on his way back to his Liang Chow Gymnastics and Dance in Iowa, good ole' USA... with a quite, small send-off....
And that's likely a good thing for Chow, since he's never going to see eye to eye with his former country or countryman, since he's been in the US and has been an American citizen for over 3 decades....

I'm sorry...Guan Chenchens routine is so much easier than the others. No way should it have that degree of difficulty for Leaping so much... girls doing such insane tumbling on a 4 in beam and that's what gets the highest value? Pretty sure any of them could do that. Maybe not as gracefully, but It didn't impress me whatsoever.

It’s because she has a lot of connections. Those leaps and jumps create combos which means extra bonus points; it affects the difficulty. Chinese routines may not have a lot of individual elements, but they are good at connecting their moves if they hit and if they are consistent.
She literally has two acro series.. a layout and a front tumbling pass. That’s extremely difficult. And her leap connections are difficult as well
It’s easy because she handled in a way that you think it’s easy, btw, gorilla move is not beautiful
She should have stayed home and taken care of her mental issues. Is gymnastics the only dangerous and stressful sports in Olympics? Why is she the only one causing a stir and unwanted attention? Don’t wait until the last minute to make known she can’t compete . She created dramas and attentions at olympics which not everyone enjoy watching!
