Stunning as always, superb job! No one can doubt the genius of Reni's drumming, but when you see it up close like this it's just mind blowing. The bloke that clicked 'dislike' did it by accident obviously. I'd say he's living a life of shame and misery - poor chap.
Great drumming, have you heard the isolated track of Love Speads on you tube, though? It's hellishly more complicated than it sounds as a lot of what Reni does is buried by Squire's guitar.
No it's not exactly how Reni played it but that's just nit-picking from us know-it-alls. Hey, come on guys, here is DetaRamei playing his ass off and keeping the legend alive that is RENI for us. He's the best of them. A tip of the hat to you, brother!
Would be so cool to hear him tackle the Daybreak drum track too.
@robert140602 I think I have got it wrong, but it was something along the lines of largest record sales per capita and it mentioned Tricky, Portishead, Massive attack, Roni Size etc. Not so much rock are they? N'e'ermind
Not quite the same Reni plays a drag on his ghost note and it may be a small thing but it makes sound quite different from that typical Manchester beat. Also at the start rather than 16th notes on the hi-hat it sounds like he is using one hand and making it swing.
+George Mutter If it was me and someone spotted something I had missed I would want someone to tell me. It is how we improve. In another life I taught drums briefly and this is what I would say to a student. It does sound good but not perfect. Also if we all just said good then how could that person improve?
Yeah i get all that, but just one positive wouldn't go a miss seeing as, i'm assuming, you're not the guys teacher. Even if you are... a positive wouldn't go a miss.
+George Mutter I am not great at communication. I tend to be more about the facts. No that was a lifetime ago. I do not teach anymore. I work in my own profession. I would rather be factual it helps more in the long run.
+George Mutter PS Occasionally I come across drummers who really do impress me such as Travis Orbin but we are not at the level yet so I would rather keep my superlatives in my pocket until we are.
Don't think a lot of people know how hard this is to replicate. He's got a good flow and beat, but it's nothing like the original i'm afraid. Go and check on babyshambler for some great cover versions of songs.
I'm not shitting on him at all. I said he has a good flow, and looks very natural, but this song is VERY hard to replicate to the original. All you have to do is listen to the isolated version by Reni and you will see the differences.
My 12 year old watch this vid to getting the hang of this song. Thank you.
Best drum cover I've seen of this. Great work, the transitions, dynamics, all pretty much spot on. Well done Deta.
Whatever it is, this cat has definitely got it. Mind-blowing.
Superb man, I fkn love that song and the drum track on it, well done!
fookin legend right here ladies and gents
Reni has a distinct advantage over most drummers in that he has 7 brains.
Yeah and 8 limbs! 😄
Saludos desde México
I've spent an hour in my garage tonight, trying to work out that roll at 3:04. It's no use, I'm going to have to get a drumkit
I'm back, seven years later, cracked it ;-)
😂
Wonderful cover❤
Nice, real nice. Like your cymbal positions, I'm gonna try it.
Hands down Best cover on here.
A fine drum clinic on that song, dude. Them tom rolls Reni does on the track though are damn near impossible to replicate exactly.
Stunning as always, superb job! No one can doubt the genius of Reni's drumming, but when you see it up close like this it's just mind blowing. The bloke that clicked 'dislike' did it by accident obviously. I'd say he's living a life of shame and misery - poor chap.
Holy hell this is good!!!
Excellent
Very nice!
brilliant, well done. hope you're still drumming

great job, good feel
great cover!!

This was an awesome cover. You have not uploaded for many years, so I hope you are OK. Thanks for sharing.
Those rolls you do at 5.15 aren't even on the original! Reni himself would love a lesson on how to do those rolls you legend!!! Amazing :)
Nice one mate, you have a really nice relaxed way of playing
Mint!
Awesome!
great drumming man, very natural!
He's one of the tightest drummers i've ever seen
That was VERY fluid, but not quite Reni. And that isn't a criticism, that's just how good he is. You did a better job than I could do ten fold! 👍
Very nice drumming i am learning this for a2 music tech(Y)
Spot on, at least to my ears!
Class mate!!🍋🍋🍋
Muito bom, very good
awesome
cool! mate! really! cool!
ahh, if only you were the same age in 95 and youtube had been around then maybe we wouldn't have had robbie maddix. Great drumming !!

Coulda just said 'sounding good'...? This is a really great attempt here.

freaking awesome! :O
nice one dude....
@robert140602 It's Bristol actually
Fuckin hell!
Superb ✊️
Tight drumming, love it!
Any chance of the notation Deta, especially the kick?
I can't watch drum cover videos because it makes me really envious, but also upset that I don't have a drum kit. Practice extra hard for me DetaRamei!
tune
Yeah mr Alan Wren would approve this
nice
"Reni Hat" no doubt!

F lawless cover. U nderstandable and clear. C ool hold. K ind of you.
jesus
Only good drummers use open hi-hat=)
Not bad, timing is a bit off and you need to learn to set your kit up properly. I'll give this a D minus.
Nice, real nice. Like your cymbal positions, I'm gonna try it.
