Brad's friends: "Turn that song off!"
lol
Lmao! On point!
😜😅
Lmao 😂💀
Lexes firiends. Oooh, Turn it Up! Lol!
This happened to me and my best friend in high school. I wanted his girl so bad. We hung out as a trio quite often so she and I were always together. I respected my boy though. I did nothing inappropriate and kept my fantasies to myself. My buddy was a serial dater though and I knew he would cast her aside soon enough. Soon enough became 2 years. But they did break up amicably and we all remained friends. I asked him if it was cool if I dated her. He said he was down with it. And I got 'Jessie's ' girl in the end. Married for 31 years now.
@@mattbecham597 either way she's lying. Lol. But I give the guy credit. He did the respectable thing and asked his guy first out of respect. I can get with that
Cool Story! Respect. Question - did she KNOW you were crushin' on her the whole time? Just curious if one can truly hide that.
That's awesome
Actually despite what many people comment about "Jessie's Girl", it is extremely common in school for someone's buddy to date a girl you may want to date also...after all, most guys are usually eyeing the same girls that their buddies and circle of friends are. The only uncool thing is to try and snake away the girl or backstab your buddy. Rick isn't trying to or talking about stealing his "best friend's girl"...he just wishes he was in his buddy's shoes and he had landed her.
It is funny that "The Cars" had a huge hit in this period called "She's My Best Friend's Girl - But She Used To Be Mine"
@@mattbecham597
They ALL do, they just never admit it, lol.
"Size doesn't matter", all lies. :-P
A lot of people wishing they had Brad's girl...I get how this hits home.
😂. I hear that, she’s so down to earth bubbly and Beautiful, but they make a really good couple though.
I wanna adopt her!
@@sarahzentexas would love to go to a good rock concert with her I bet she’d be a blast
...you had to go there... c'mon man! Even if I was about 45 years younger.... wait.... Bradley's Girl? And even though Lex is totally "sitcom cute " today, like Penny on Big Bang Theory...
Brad’s reaction sounded like it was personal, lol.
It's only about his feelings, he doesn't intend to move on her. The friendship is strong enough!
'Where can i find a woman LIKE that?'
Cheers!
This song was originally made for a trashy soap opera. I think Rick Springfield was a character on the show at the time? I never watched the show but I'm guessing the characters eventually hooked up.
I heard he nailed her
Ya, that's how I ALWAYS heard the song/lyrics, since the first time I heard it. It seems pretty dang OBVIOUS to me.
@@jem77469 The album was released before he got the part in General Hospital.
@@jem77469 This had nothing to do with General Hospital. He saw this woman in a pottery class.
Jessie's girl is the kind of girl the guy dreams, in the way she is, how she looks "cute" at her boyfriend, etc, not literally her. He even admit he feels "dirty" when thinking those things. It's an introspection.
"Where can I find a woman like that?" Go easy on Rick, man :D
Ya, that's how I ALWAYS heard the song/lyrics, since the first time I heard it. It seems pretty dang OBVIOUS to me.
Exactly. I don't think this song was meant to be literal. He asks over and over throughout the whole song. Why he can't find a woman like that. It's the idea of her. Not the actual girl herself.
he said "jessie's got a girl and i want to make her mine" right out the gate. lol. also, he said he'd been funny around her and cool with the lines so he was flirting around and running game on her...and he feels dirty...because he wants jessie's girl.
Brad, as Lex alluded to, art reflects the entire human experience. To ignore the darker parts of our characters in art wouldn’t be honest. And, if it makes you feel any better, it’s pretty clear he never actually acted on his jealousy. People think all kinds of crazy shit in their heads. Civilization is not acting on those thoughts.
Unless you are Trump supporters. lol
I think he was a sign that we are getting close to the END of civilization.
@@djm0111 If Trump is able to rise to power again, I agree with you. He should be rotting in prison right now for his treason.
@@carlgibbons5777 oh, so you hate greatness. then you should love the awfulness of sleepy, creepy joe.
@@mysonandme8424 Greatness? Trump is ON TAPE trying to steal the election. You want to hear it? Your kind never does. People in his own administration have now called him evil and have said that he needlessly killed hundreds of thousands by lying about the pandemic because he was worried about reelection. He's the absolute worst thing to ever happen to America and here you are bringing up Biden. If you support that POS, you support anti-Democracy and racism. At least be man enough to admit it.
This is a JAM and he was such a hottie, all of us were in love with him. This song is still played everywhere today.
This song was huge when it came out. At the same time, he was a
star in the most popular soap General Hospital. I honestly don’t
understand the big deal with lyrics. We were more into the music.
There's a lot of songs where people don't really pay attention to the lyrics.
Brad is the most literal person alive, lmao. "He's bringing her lines..." I've never heard someone interpret that line like that, especially being that he said "I've been funny, I've been cool with the lines". Every song with this guy, lol.
Yeah, but you have to admit, with how many times that antandra has been used, (especially with rock n roll), any time you hear it your double checking your thoughts to see if it's meant like that, and more often than not...; it usually is.
😫🤣🤣 right! This new generation.. its not drugs yall 🤣🤣✌🏽
Yes, but you aint a brutha. Bruthas interpret differently. lol
@@Joe-to8og I am a "brutha," listening to rock since the 70s as other "bruthas" gave me shyte for it. I never interpreted these songs like Brad does when he is off the mark.
This is one of the only times I'll say this about a rock song... It's NOT about drugs.
Just because he wants a girl like that, because he sees how happy they are, doesn't mean he wants to steal her away, it just means he wishes that he had a girl like that for himself and he might find someone like that out there one day!
even though he asks where can he find a woman like that, he said he wishes he had jessie's girl. and in the beginning, he said jessie's got himself a girl and he wants to make her his.
@@mysonandme8424 you nailed it. He just wants his girl.
Nope.
"I am disappointed in Rick." Hahaha! I discovered your channel last night and have been bingeing today but that comment got my sub. You guys rock!
I swear that everyone hearing this song for the first time forgets what it was like to be young. Particularly that teen to early 20s part of your life when you were still maturing. Many, if not most, people had a crush on a friend's partner at some point.
I love how disappointed Brad gets with poor decisions in songs.
Integrity isn't often found today.
"I guess he brings her lines, like white powder." WTF is wrong with you LOL
"Lines" were actually his come on lines as an attempt to flirt with the girl.
The wig! Haha She’s so cute, she looks good in anything.
@-Steve - I’m sure there are some trolls out there that would get offended, because their whole reason for living is to be offended, they go out of their way to look for it. But it wouldn’t bother me at all. Either way it’s just hair…
🎶why can’t I find a woman like that?
About 15 years ago I was employed with a company that supplied stage gear for local concerts. I worked a Rick Springfield concert on the beach in Ocean City Maryland. I must say he put on a good show and it was shocking how many hits he had. I had forgotten about most of them until they were played.
I don't believe he's talking about drugs .... being cool with the lines is just being cool with things he says to her... like pick up lines or being funny with jokes and such. He's saying he wants a woman like her and he's definitely jealous but he's not acting on that aside from Possibly low key flirting with her through "come on lines". Or just trying to be extra charming around her.
He tends to put meanings that don't exist.
Or literally feeding the hoe lines?
He’s definitely not talking about drugs. Lol
Love that look Lex!
God Bless The Eighties and its boldness!!!!. One of THE best generations ever for music.
Thank you for posting.
Oh my goodness did I have a crush on Rick Springfield!!! Loved this song and many others. Love the hair Lex!
I was a roadie for a Rick Springfield concert in summer of 1985, he was the bomb! Took place at West Fargo Fairgrounds, hundreds of blond permed hair girls - Rick would make one small move, and they would go crazy! One memorable thing: there was a long (~50') runway in front of the stage, about 8 to 10 feet above the ground, a teen girl was hoisted up to the top/end of it, and started running full speed towards the stage, the crowd went crazy, and just before she got to Rick, a security guy grabbed her and whisked her offstage.
'"You know I wish that I had Bradley's girl" LOL
Rick Springfield travels the country playing county fairs all the time, and this is by far the biggest song he plays. The crowd just goes crazy! A song about wanting to steal your homies girl. What a world.
I've been asking for more Aussie content, thanks for that keep it coming 👌
Great reaction Brad. If no-one is checking out your girl then you do have problem 🤔😊🇦🇺.
Thanks for reminding them his Aussie AF end off mate
"been cool with the lines" i believe refers to his verbal approach to Jessies' girl
Fell in love with this song when he said the word "moot" and used it correctly in a sentence.
Rick Springfield, aka Dr Noah Drake… my childhood crush. He was such a dream boat. 😂😂😂
"I hate that I like the way this sounds" We all felt that way back then lol
Brad's got himself a girl, and I want to make her mine. 😂
y'all thirsting for Brad's girl meanwhile them reacting to this song is absolutely priceless.
My thought exactly!! Totally understand Brad's feelings on this one!
@Frisky Fella I'd never guess a guy like you ":frisky" would be throwing out compliments to chick's online. I'm totally caught off guard. Lmao. I'm just teasin bro, no disrespect
This is a Brad who would LOVE to steal Lex!!!
LMAO My favorite part of the video was the end when Brad said "Hide your kids and hide your wife" 😂😂😂
Brad with the integrity. Respect.
"That Dirt bag sound GOOD" says Brad LOL.
Great Song.
This song was used perfectly in the movie Boogie Nights.
My mind goes straight to that drug deal scene every time I hear this song and Sister Christian from Night Ranger. One of the best movies of all time. Dirk just staring into nothing while firecrackers keep popping in the background and robed Alfred Molina dancing. The damn best.
That scene is iconic.
Omg! Y’all are hilarious! I really needed this😂🤣😂
the iconic guitar riffs in that song were a collaboration between Rick and Neil "Spyder" Giraldo.. who was the guitarist and later husband of Pat Benatar
This song is a big part of one of the most crazy scenes in movies in "Boogie Nights."
And the Sister Christian song. One of my top ten favorite scenes of all time.
This was my first vinyl record and I still love it. Rick Springfield is still a good looking man at 72 years old too.
He was a Soap Opera Actor so I think this song really goes a long with that
Wasn't his name dr Noah Drake?
Had nothing to do with general hospital though
@@andreadeamon6419 He was also on Battlestar Galactica.....briefly.
@@heatsinker_5517 you're right. I forgot all about that. His imdb is longer than i thought. I thought it was funny that i remembered his name on general hospital. I haven't watched that since the 80s
I really enjoy some Rick Springfield, I still have his greatest hits. Another High School memory trigger.... 👍😄🎶
I have been in this position ( i never acted on it ) falling for your best friends girl. But loyalty is important
I wish that I had Bradley's girl ! Why can't I find a woman like that !
Back off! If she ever leaves Brad I'm first in line!
you guys are wild
@@brayanramirez8465 Brad should be very proud. Everyone wants his girl, but he's the one who got her!
Rick Springfield has an absolute banger of a song called "I've done everything for you". Also covered by Sammy Hagar. Check it out
Sammy wrote it. I'm pretty sure they were on the same record label.
You got it backwards
@@SamC379 No I don't.
I've Done Everything for You" is a rock song which became a 1981 Top 10 hit in the US for Rick Springfield. It was written by Sammy Hagar. In addition to recorded versions by Hagar and Springfield, the song has been performed and recorded by numerous bands, including Buckcherry.[1] Wiki
@@rsw1227 I'm pretty sure he was agreeing with you and saying Ron Parsons had it backwards.
... You've Done Nothing For Me! 🎶
Geez, listing to Brad talk about the things you have be concerned about makes me realize how much things have changed. This song is from a different time and things were different. I sure miss them days.
Saw him in concert in early 80's. Highly talented dude
I was a senior in high school when this song came out. It was a big hit, especially with me. At the same time he started playing Dr. Noah Drake in General Hospital. We all fell in love with Rick Springfield and wanted to be Jessie’s girl so he could want us. LOL
This song was a gigantic hit! And its still incredibly popular with 80's cover bands. It's an awesome dance beat.
Just Love Lex new style! Always a bungle of energy!🙂
Please note the opening guitar riff was done by Neil Giraldo who is married to Pat Benetar. PS: There was no Jessie. The name was changed to make the song make sense.
Check out Rick Springfield introducing Neil Giraldo in the first time they perform together in 35 years.

This was great, guys. Thank you. Brad, you cracked my shit up the entire time. Let's hope he's just thinking about it and not acting. "Dirt bag". Hilarious. Thanks bro. Thanks, Lex.
BTW - Rick Springfield was a star on General Hospital first, and everyone was surprised to find out that he could actually sing. And that his songs were actually very good. His Greatest Hits record is fantastic.
Actually he was a teen pop idol in the late 60's and early 70's before he went into acting. He was a musical guest on The Sonny and Cher Show in 1972.
This song was popular before he was on General Hospital
He was known as the soap star, like Ricky Nelson. I usually play the Jesse Girl, Garden Party, and Stacey's mom trifecta.
the way brad was reacting to the song was fkn sweet as fkk ;D
but hey, at least you dont have to wonder about the lyrics this time, its pretty obvious ;D
as always, enjoyed watching u guys
Brad you cracked me up in this one, C'mon man!!! HUGS!!! :)
Brad is a real bro. Respect. Lex was all in it lol
Somehow I missed this song when it first came out. I didn't hear it until many years after it's release, when my friend Jesse, AKA Sancho, began singing it one day, and then played it for me.
Hi there im pretty new to your channel and let me tell you that you’re one of my favorite reaction couple . I like how you guys are a combination of cool , sassy , and you are definitely enjoying the music. The way you analyze the lyrics is great and what people don’t understand that it’s your interpretation and not something that is literal. I see the comments on this song and realize people are way to opinionated of how you guys see this song . We all get our own meaning from music and what ever it is just enjoy the music . Thank you for your channel
Loving your hair Lex!! 💖💖💖💖
Hahaha! You're killing me Brad!
I can't hear this song without thinking of that scene where it plays in Boogie Nights.
Rick Springfield is an underrated songwriter and arranger. I think the "lines" he was talking about were subtle pickup lines. Great reaction, and Brad's right: You don't mack on your friend's girl.
"I want whats in the safe. We want whats in the gd safe, in the gd master bedroom in the gd f***ing floor safe, thats all." --Todd Parker, Boogie Nights.
I enjoy hearing your take on song like this that I’ve heard so many times over the years. I never thought “lines” was a drug reference but , again, I first heard this when I was a kid and was more innocent than I am now. But our brain still sees it in the old way.
its funny cus rick also has a song called ''DONT TALK TO STRANGERS'' lol
brad luv your reaction in the begining lol
"Cool with the lines" I believe means the lines he uses when talking to her.
You should listen to The Cars - My Best Friends Girl and see how these 2 songs relate to each other.
Also check out "Operator" by Jim Croce.
Watching Brad read the lyrics is making my fricking day! 😆
Rick Springfield started out as a Soap Opera actor on General Hospital in the 80's then he put out an album. Looks like the soap opera's script made its way into his music.
The first part of the song was great. The look of disgust on Brad's face was awesome!!🤟 You know Rick was a daytime soap opera star so you can't expect too much. 🤣🤣.
"I've been cool with the lines".....mild flirtatious banter that could go sooooo wrong. That fine line that can fracture friendships. Male/female platonic relationships can be so complex at different times.
I seen a televised live concert of Rick Springfield and a girl in the audience had a Tshirt that said....
I'm Jessie's girl. Lol ❤️
0:33
When your girl says “how bout you decide where we eat tonight?”
"You know I wish that I had Brad's Girl".... "Where can I find a woman like that?".... ;-P Lex, I love the hair color hon!!
I cannot listen to this song without thinking about the Boogie Nights scene anymore.
This song was Rick Springfield’s first hit in the USA. He wrote the song about his friend’s girlfriend. I remember from an interview he gave at the time it had just been released, he admitted that the woman in question never gave him the time of day, and she ended up marrying the friend Jessie.
Well, good songs reflect the human experience, the good bits and the bad bits, like jealously. I've always had the impression that the singer in this song is a teenager, who's still learning boundaries and self-control and also suffering from the despair of ever getting a girl that afflicts teenage boys in particular, right up to the moment they actually get one.
This song always reminds of the movie Boogie Nights that crazy scene.🤔
Y'all's reaction is priceless 😂😂
I like how Lex let this one sizzle deep on poor Brad! She was like "ow..." "owkay..." "yeah, so..." lol!! Well played Lex, make him think hard about it girl!!😅👍
Oh, you must react to more of Rick's songs! So many to choose from...Don't Talk to Strangers, Celebrate Youth, Love Somebody, My Father's Chair (about his dad), State of the Heart, and so much more!
loving the hair Lex looks awesome
Rick Springfield was one of the original double threats, He was an actor on the hottest soap opera playing Noah Drake and then his music came out and his career exploded.
Yea. I hear this song, have this thought... EVERY TIME I watch your reactions. Your chick ROCKS... "wish I had a girl like that"... would never move in it. It's a compliment.
Rick Springfield was a huge heart throb in the early eighties and when this came out there was a lot of girls that wanted to be Ricks girl!! Huge hit for him!!
Yeah, so many girls would have dropped their Jessie for Rick!
Brad's triggered - I bet this happens to him *A LOT.*
Lex may be a little nervous, but it’s Brad’s way to make an indirect point that he isn’t happy when the guys are hitting on his girl!
@@lantose And can't fault him for that, he is no simp.
@@vanhattfield8292 Your right, he’s pretty savvy! Lex is a ball of fire and I’d bet she knows how to flirt (in a respectful way)!
Exactly! I could see Brad’s friends hitting on Lex all the time. She is wonderful…

Y’all need to listen to more Rick Springfield!!! Love Somebody, Love Is Alright Tonight, Bop Til You Drop, Don’t Talk To Strangers, Human Touch, Affair of the Heart, Souls, Celebrate Youth, State of the Heart, I’ve Done Everything For You, What Kind of Fool Am I, and I Get Excited
Oh man we all crushed on Rick back in the day lol. And he was a hunk on General Hospital. I've heard he's just as nice off stage to his fans.
Classic! Saw him 3 times as a kid with my Aunt. Met him once, super nice dude. His later stuff is a lot more refined and deeper. "Affair of the heart" and "Dont walk away" are worth a listen.
Haha Brad’s face at the first lyrics. Too funny
Another good one from him is "Don't Talk To Strangers".
Yup. But even more importantly: Dio has a "Don't Talk To Strangers" as well. Both should be reacted to. :)
"... I am disappointed in Rick..."
Was the comment that won you my subscription. I laughed so hard.
Late 70's/early 80's power pop. A lot of gems are in that period of music. A LOT.
A few years ago Rick was on Supernatural as an aging Rocker who became a vessel for Lucifer.
Lexi looking like one of the pink ladies from Grease. 😂
Rick was actually a heartthrob back in the 80s. He was also an actor on General Hospital.
They've got to watch the official video of this and a few live versions which are terrific. The audio on this version they've selected sounds like it's from the AOL 56 kbps dialup days!
Rick Springfield was my high school crush big time❤️❤️❤️ Factoid...Rick actually directed the video to this song...so check out the video! This was the 5th biggest song of 1981.
This was literally a psych study in our hosts.
Brad; offended by the lyrical meaning of the song
Lex; just bopping and loving the beat
I'm pretty sure "lines" means pick up lines, not white powder.
It's funny, but most rockers won't acknowledge that this song is a banger. I still love it, and so do audiences that we've played it for.
