It’s years and years of travel, research and trial and error. Over time you end up figuring out where to go, when, what to chase. That’s what makes fishing exciting, it’s the adventure not knowing how it’ll go.
I'm a bit cursed with not being able to catch trout. Been to Lake lyell, lake wallace, Thredbo River with the trout everywhere infront of me and never a bite. Plenty of redfin though so I don't mind too much I just can't get myself onto trout. Nice video
To help you land your first trout but a rod or two, ensure it’s extremely light and fish with light line and gear. Use baits such as worms, power bait, corn and focus your efforts on their movements. For example, during Autumn I’ll fish for them in rivers as they are moving up river to spawn, during Spring I’ll fish for them in dams as they return after their spawn and they’re hungrier. A feed of Redfin is always welcome by catch but by being persistent and having more than one offering will greatly increase your chances of catching Trout. I hope this bit of advice helps you land a few.
Trout fishing is fun and productive at times. Most of my spots you need a car but if you’re based in the Blue Mountains than Wentworth Falls dam is a good start. Lake Lyell and Wallace dams are also great.
@@aft-fishing90 not based in the blue mountains, I'm just south of the gong, but I do quite frequent the Lithgow area from time to time, have heard of a creek that fishes well near the train line
@@QuailsFarmY unfortunately don't have a licence so the driving part is out of the question, as mentioned in the first comment I left on the original post
@@MarkOzFishNSW my bad didn't read it properly. I think there is public transport to Goulburn which holds redfin and I think in the past has been stocked with trout that might work.
Nice water, beautiful spots and great fishing trip, thanks and thumbs up from NZ,, Tony.
Thank you Tony, still dreaming that I’m fishing in NZ beautiful rivers and streams

Never been trout fishing, isn't easy to find locations as I don't drive, but that doesn't mean I can't get to certain locations

@@MarkOzFishNSW you could always drive down to lake jindabyne etc. It's a long drive but mainly just on a highway so you can take it easy
