    This is a cartoon that I wish I had known and grown up with as a kid,as this show seems to offer a strong feeling of childhood mixed with chalky imagination.☺️

    So glad that you like this underrated cartoon man. It’s really sad how the most creative concepts for a cartoon are also seemingly some of the most abused when it comes to distribution. And I think, without a question that I played a factor into having CZ being a more cult classic show then one remembered more fondly by many people, like say Fairly OddParents or even Teenage Robot.
    On the subject of the two ditched OYC shorts of ChalkZone, while ChalkRain is my favorite of the two, I feel it’s actually quite sadder how they ditched ChalkDad considering how they introduced a recurring character for ChalkZone that was kinda important sentimentally for the main character. Hell, Rudy’s dad isn’t even voiced by Jess Harnell in the pilots (for those curious, it was some currently unidentified VA who did a gruffer butcher’s voice), would’ve been nice to Jess’ take on Chalk Dad’s first appearance.
    Maybe Bill and Larry (or even Nickelodeon) wanted to focus on the OYC shorts that featured Penny as a part of the stories so viewers can get used to her in the cast dynamic (the ignored shorts only featured Rudy & Snap as a duo), but it’s still a shame those more interesting shorts got kicked to the curb as a result. For those who want to see the lost ChalkZone Oh Yeah Cartoon shorts, I believe they’re available on Fred Siebert’s Vimeo account.

    Sweet review. ChalZone has always been a show I've kept my eyes on, and this review has made me want to check it out. Thank you for sharing your take on it and not spoiling too much of it, I hope that more people come to discover the show as well

    Discounting post 2006 Nicktoons, this, Ginger and the X's are the most WTF in terms of mistrestment. Literally the worst treated Nicktoons from this timeline.

    the more I think about it, ChalkZone would've gone SO hard as a DS game. You already have the stylus which has tons of potential as the chalk, even though Drawn to Life and Scribblenauts borrowed this idea already. (not bad games, they just popularized this concept)

    I checked out a couple episodes of Chalk Zone. It’s a pretty decent series, but it doesn’t really feel like it belongs on Nickelodeon.
    I don’t know what it is about the series, But if you told me it used to be aired on Disney’s 1 Saturday morning They would probably believe you.

    • @alexkumaratunga2834
      @alexkumaratunga2834 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh my god, yes! It would've been a perfect show for One Saturday Morning, given the overall school theme.

    There is one scene where someone throws a slice of half-eaten steak at Rudy, also, the "where's your ticket" zoner was wearing an angel costume for some reason. Can someone tell me who threw the meat at Rudy and which episode it took place?

    ChalkZone is certainly the tamest Nicktoon from the pre 2006 period of Nickelodeon, if not the tamest Nicktoon overall. Really feels more like a Disney cartoon that somehow managed to enter production in Nick Animation Studio, rather than being something Nick would truly greenlit.

    • @Brewart2012
      @Brewart2012 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I think it’s the dotted eyes. It and Doug are the only 2 to use them instead of white circles and pupils, makes them look more kiddy compared to the rest of the Nicktoons

    • @PeterGriffin11
      @PeterGriffin11 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think Doug is the tamest nicktoon.

    • @alexkumaratunga2834
      @alexkumaratunga2834 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @Brewart2012 That's part of it, but it's mainly that the insanity and the craziness pales in comparison to most Nicktoons. The overall writing and tone is more in line of a late 90s to early 2000s Disney TVA show rather than a Nicktoon from 2000-2005. Like this is a show that should've aired alongside The Weekenders and Recess, not Invader Zim and Jimmy Neutron.

    • @justyumi4410
      @justyumi4410 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Brewart2012ironic because Codename: Kids Next Door, a show well known for pupil eyes, was anything but tame. Feel like ChalkZone could've used that edge in its stories to stick out from the Fairly Oddparents' and Jimmy Neutrons of its time.
      funnily enough, Numbuh 2's Grandma and Snap have the masked eyes and share a voice actress, Candi Milo.

      @happaxgamma 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I think a more famous example of dot pupil eyes is Adventure Time, which is more recent than any cartoon discussed here, yet somehow even less tame than KND. This and Regular Show were some of CN's more mature shows. Heck, even the recent Fionna and Cake series is even more mature than the original series. Not every character has one dot pupils, but many of them do.

    I remember that I liked this show, but I don't know why I stopped watching it. I don't know if it was because of lack of interest or if Nick Latin America put it on at times that weren't very accessible.
    I am surprised that the show lasted so long despite having irregular schedules.

    ChalkZone feels like the kind of show that would do way better if it was made now, instead of the late 90s-early 00s. That edgy era of the channel is over and newer shows and reboots like Kamp Koral, FOP: A New Wish and Monster High are a lot softer in tone
