@The Bing Buzz You can only fly within the confines of the flying field. You are not allowed to fly outside the boundary of the flying field. Everywhere else at Flushing Meadows Corona Park, flying drones is banned due to flights taking off from nearby LGA airport. You are also not allowed to fly over people and moving traffic unless you are Part 107 certified. If you are Part 107 certified, I definitely recommend putting that in your video description to be on the safe side. Happy Flying and Please Fly Safely. :)
Almost correct. Part 107 or not, your are NOT allowed to fly over people or moving vehicles. Not only do you need a Part107, but the Mavic Air2 does NOT meet the requirments since it is too heavy and is not a Category 1 drone. But you are correct otherwise. You cannot fly outside the confines of the park. And flying in that area also bothers the wildlife. I suggest you also both get at least your TRUST certificates (REQUIRED AT THIS POINT TO FLY IN THE US) and consider taking your Part107 to educate yourselves on the rules and proper way to fly. I chalk up this video to youthful enthusiasm.

Hi! I was just wondering what you had to do to fly/get clearance to fly in the DJI app? Wanted to head there tomorrow but confused as to how to do it legally/properly but also because the app says its restricted airspace.
From what I gather, the ceiling there is 200’ and can only takeoff and land from the designated spot. How did your flight go? I’m going there soon myself.
I will go to Flushing park to fly my mini 2 this weekend, do I need a special permission? I only have the trust test, is that enough?, thanks for the answer!

You can't leave your house in NYC without committing at least one felony.
