This is a whole thing with some millennials and Gen... whatever follows millennials. They also HATE constructive criticism. They think it is hate and toxic. Give me good praise or nothing.
@@sabrinarosario6499 going to give you some constructive criticism-it's just not true of our generation (gen z is the "whatever follows" that you're looking for) as a whole; it's only true within certain communities. it's the communities that spread "good vibes" that do so to the extent of avoiding any controversial topic, discourse, or criticism, in the name of faux cooperation. i'd actually say the opposite, that our generation is quite confrontational and is looked downed upon for our constant calls to action. we've been associated with "cancel culture" by older generations for some time now.
Maybe it's due to the game's genre and primary gaming audience, but die-hard fans respond childishly to criticism. They speak like children who aren't used to others having opposing opinions.
@@sabrinarosario6499I don't think this is a generation thing. It is notoriously known that older Generations cannot take any criticism whatsoever without getting upset so I hate when people attribute these kind of things to the younger generation as a whole
@@NeshaBoo21 I agree that it's not a generation thing, but disagree with what you said about older generations. My parents are boomers and they certainly can take criticism. Well the sims 4 engine is honestly way worse than the engine of the sims 3 so I do believe it wasn't easy thing to code - which begs the question why on earth are they still developing this hot garbage of a game and haven't moved on to the sims 5 yet
Yeah they're because those people are delusional and they live too close in their eco chambers where everyone is nice and anyone who dares to criticize it get blocked
Yeah, they are. In a SatchOnSims thread where someone was complaining about bugs a EA shill said about how they just fixed a major bug what are you talking about they fix things all the time. He actually said that, like it was ok that these lackluster packs came out full of bugs in the first place because they fix some of the problems later
Having “sims gurus” really was a genius marketing move. Turning your huge faceless corporation into individual people that can be “bullied” for creating subpar products to make fans attack each other instead of said subpar product, was clearly a smart move for their business plan.
The concept of Simgurus (then called "Maxoids") existed since the days of Sims1, so they could communicate directly to the fan base to promote the game and get feedback. They just abused that power recently...
@@moneppeli Loyal to a fault though is the key I think. If they mess up big time, people shouldn't be there waiting for them to hopefully pick up the pieces.
The biggest issue is that people are treating a literal game company with years of experience and knowledge as if it is an innocent little independent game developer who's working on their very first game.
sims 4 fans have a serious issue with infantilizing people and this company, it's been around for decades... they know what they are doing, they are a business first and foremost and everything they do is calculated and purposeful.

I'm a professional QA who worked on a very popular (millions of downloads) mobile game for years. I'm laughing my ass off at how much Sims 4 players want to lick the EA management asses without knowing a single bit of how gamedev actually works. They act like EA is a tiny indie studio who creates stuff with passion. Literally none of it is true. This is so stupid and sad. They seem to really think that TS4 team cares about them
And these are the same people that will nitpick sims 4 competition like paralives which you can count employees on two hands. Its actually insane how little self respect this fandom has, a lot of other gaming fandoms would not tolerate 10% of the bs sims 4 puts them through
one of my favorite simmers from my childhood was defending ea claiming they're "full of passion" and she's sick of us complaining.... babes I'm sick of my unmodded game breaking everytime EA decides to release yet another half-baked dlc I can't afford and will not be partaking in, while the same creators are being sent game codes & profiting off videos pushing said dlc. simfluencers & ea are so out of touch with the fanbase.
@@Carrots-sb7qo I think most of it comes down to producers and shareholders shoving down bullshit down the throats of devs and designers. it’s so manipulative too bc the simgurus essentially being influencers disincentivizes people from criticizing the game 😭 it’s why we always see “the devs worked hard on the game so shhh” as a common response to valid concerns

It’s because we’ve genuinely lost some of the technology games used even 10 years ago. I can’t remember the video title but there is a video talking about this. Modern games are huge and demanding, and optimization doesn’t go nearly as far anymore. Games like Sims 3 and the original rollercoaster tycoon are much less demanding on your computer than sims 4, so EA literally couldn’t figure out how to make bunk beds not break the game for a long time.
@@DustyHoney i don’t think that’s it, even back in 2014 coding bunk beds should be light work. main problem was trying to make sims 4 a multiplayer online game and then scrapping it last minute to churn out this mess. i’m guessing the technical debt is so insane now that it’s not worth the effort to fix, and they just keep adding on to poorly optimized code
They BEEN carrying the community since sims1. They just got recognized when sims 4 dropped. Tbh once I peeped there was no openworld, toddlers or cars (the main most beloved additions to the game) I Knew I wasn't moving on just yet. After 5 -6 packs dropped I said nah, I'm good lmbooo. S4 was a regression as far as I was concerned 😅
the cancellation of the sims 5 should’ve sealed the deal for long time simmers that the sims team has no passion anymore. they can try to fake it with these little too late lore editions and acting like they care but if they did, they’d pour it into a new working fresh game. not keep milking the hell out of this one. because like they said it themselves they don’t want simmers to start over…
They dont want us to enjoy the sims4 like sims3 players are doing now: unbothered and happy! They know, a lot of us are over these micro-worlds, buggy sanitised gameplay and silly never-ending kits. Cc and mod creators are the only reason, the game is actually enjoyable and they are not the ones being paid to make the game. The sims4 model is bs.
This why I don't use X. It's just unhinged in general. The Sims constantly gaslights people. Honestly, I'm still pissed having to play the game a certain way in order to get free content.
The Sims team and the people in the community who think they can do no wrong are birds of a feather. They both make excuses for why the game is lacking content that the developers are more than capable of adding because they done it before. They both gaslight you into thinking you're the problem if you hold them accountable. At this point, the Sims 4 community and Sims team deserve each other.
Im gonna be honest, I used to watch a whole lotta series (creepy pasta and other mods) of it(sims 4, around 2016ish) So in a way it was part of my childhood (when I also brought a couple packs I loved as well) although I still play it for the memories I had,it’s still pretty messed up. With there only now being more base game updates, And as you said before, the devs management(them not listening to the players) also adds into the problem. - -- But ya I’d say not all of the players in the community are ignorant/gaslighters (adding onto your last sentence btw!)
Just because past dev teams could add content that the Sims 4 doesn't have, it doesn't mean the current dev teams are capable. How many of the current team are from Sims 1, 2, or 3? It's quite possible that the current team is not talented enough. Just a thought. 🤷♀️
@@BunE22 you’re telling me a multi billion dollar mega corporation is incapable of putting together a team of competent devs to code for one of their most profitable franchises? this could be an excuse years ago when sims 4 was in its infancy but it’s the 10th yr anniversary of the game, if they’re having issues on the development level it should’ve been resolved years ago
@@BunE22 ultimately thats still a symptom of the problem that created all of this: their goal is money. short term profit over long term growth and its still not an excuse or something to defend them with, if thats what youre doing
My biggest problem is that most if not all sims 4 EPs are not worth the money. For the price of an expansion pack, the content is lacking significantly. They could avoid most of this backlash if they just made them cheaper 🤷🏾♀️
The majority of what I own was because I waited for a really good sale (or was free), though I found it took longer and longer for packs to drop significantly in price over the last few years. Of course, I purchase them as if it were just or stuff, with a bonus of gameplay if it works, though I have avoided some because I'm scared they will actually break the limited gameplay I have now.
I feel like the frank way to put it is that they're whales. The people who have sunk so much money into this fuckup of a game that they feel the need to self immolate to defend it are whales, in EA's eyes. People to squeeze money and clout out of, whom it is entirely unnecessary to respect - they'll open their wallets anyway. It's so incredibly sad. Have some dignity, people.

Gaslight. Gatekeep. Girlboss. It's in the Game. Seriously, if an entire community starts harassing the developer of a sex mod to update their mod barely a week after EA released a major content drop that broke more than half of the mod's mechanics, while said developer has announced that they were on vacation, then you can tell how lackluster TS4's gameplay has been. As much as I question Krafton's ethics, I'd much rather have a new life sim game than deal with TS4 or TS3. Especially when the code to both games are slowly rotting away.
I think inzoi is a beautiful game. The unfortunate thing about the game is the fact that they use GAI (generative artificial intelligence). If you do not know why that is a problem, let me explain. Lack of transparency: Krafton, the developer, has not fully disclosed the training data used to develop their generative AI model. This lack of transparency makes it difficult to assess the potential risks of data mining. Web-scraped data: Some generative AI tools are trained using web-scraped data, which can raise concerns about copyright infringement and privacy. If InZOI’s AI model has been trained on publicly available data, it may be vulnerable to hacking attempts that exploit this data. Client-side processing: InZOI’s AI capabilities are built into the client as on-device solutions, which means that data processing occurs locally on the player’s device. While this reduces the risk of data transmission to external servers, it does not eliminate the risk of data being accessed or manipulated by malicious actors. Prototype hacking: The Sundai Club hackathon demonstrated how generative AI tools can be used to quickly prototype ideas, including those with malicious intent. This highlights the potential for hackers to exploit InZOI’s AI features for nefarious purposes. User-generated content: InZOI’s character creator allows players to upload their own patterns and photos to generate custom textures. While this feature is intended to enhance creativity, it also increases the risk of user-generated content being exploited by hackers.
@theamazingpoof2205 I'm not too worried about harassment. I do not care enough for that to matter to me. What I do care about is warning others to be careful. If someone does not care about privacy and personal data security, then go for it. It will be interesting to see what happens. But do not say that others and I didn't warn you. Ha
@theamazingpoof2205 I can certainly understand that. Same here. I was very excited about it at first. Then I heard about them using GAI. I did a bit of research, and I then decided I would not be playing it because of all of the dangers and risks of using GAI. It's very disappointing tbh.
There's some shenanigans going on with EA. I don't know how it ties in, but I'm noticing a pattern in their products. Dragon Age is getting RAKED over the coals right now. It feels like Sims 4 players at launch. The game doesn't feel like the previous versions, gameplay has been drastically dumbed down and the writing subpar. I think EA should dissolve and leave Maxis to their own devices. Good or bad. See what happens.
@@ayou2470 I’ve noticed the lukewarm reception to dragon age too… it’s crazy that EA has become so averse to taking risks and prefer to just play it safe 🤷♂️ i think they need a change in leadership
Not even HALF of what EA has done in The Sims would be allowed in ANY other game/community. If this was any other game, EA would be traumatized and crying. The sims would be a whole different monster. Casual gamers, man...
TS4 players are funny because they say you “aren’t letting people enjoy the game” if you have an ounce of criticism towards it 🌚 newsflash: I don’t have to like what you like, and I don’t *ever* have to be quiet just because my opinion makes you uncomfortable, stinkabutt. Welcome to the real world. Now go play ur lil game 🤣
I think that they say sims 5 is not in production just to make people buy more packs. a lot of people have stopped buying expansions for ts4 because they are waiting for the sims 5.
Right, this. The line in the sand for me was somewhere around 3 years ago, I realized then the game couldn't hold itself up any more and I am careful to be offfline when I pull up the app so it won't update. Happily playing it untouched by updates and new packs. There is no way this thing is going to hold up for much longer unless there are massive fixes. The gurus said years ago that certain things couldn't be added because it'd break the game (I believe that, I believed much more of what they said prior to 2020). Dead things bloat, and that's what Sims 4 is doing. I suspect what will happen is that the renee pack that comes out will be fully playable by itself, or made to be programmed so it could be in the near future, and the game will continue as "Sims 4" while technically being something else entirely. Or they'll dump it and blame the community for it. I clocked out of the community ages ago because at that time there were verified statements that were wholly vile. Genuine criticism disappears under the folds of the hyper positive or hyper negative. I don't disbelieve that this guru was getting threats. But also there is something fundamentally wrong about the player to company relationship, and I don't think any party is guiltless.
Every time a company does some shady shit and we think they’re the worst, EA will come swooping, reminding us that they are, indeed, the worst, and don’t you dare take that away from them.
What I’m really wondering is, when did all that crazy toxic behaviour start in defending a game that doesn‘t work properly? I have now for years, when i felt like buying an „expansion“ pack of the sims, never bought any of their stuff at full price. There are a lot of sites where you can get sims 4 game keys for prices, these packs should have been from the beginning. It‘s just so crazy for me to pay that much money for this game. But I‘m not near owning all the packs, that‘s just way too much and i wouldn‘t want or even need it. EA should be ashamed of themselves, but they will never :D
the people who play the sims 4 genuinely seem to lack critical thinking. why are they so offended by people critiquing the game? all games are susceptible to criticism. especially ones that are knowingly sucking money out of their consumers and lying. god forbid people have a differing opinion. the intense hate people SPECIFICALLY have towards you is genuinely gross. it’s mob mentality
You know what’s funny about the bugs in this game? The fact they can’t/won’t fix them. A single one guy can fix a not game breaking glitch for a game that only one person mentioned, but the sims team with more than one member cannot fix game breaking glitches that hundreds of not thousands of people are mentioning? In stardew valley 1.6 from April this year, I was the only one who mentioned to the creator that when Willy was fishing the texture of his rod was messed up. I told him on Twitter and just didn’t fish nearby Willy so I wasn’t annoyed. I got off that evening and the next day I got on there was a patch that fixed that and a few other bugs. That was one guy. For one person’s complaint. The sims team can’t fix things that many people are complaining about. Things that make the game hard to enjoy.
When someone cooks fried chicken for the first time and nearly burns it, they usually try again until they get it right. They don't drop the recipe once and for all. EA abandoning The Sims because of their own decision to release a lackluster version is such a bad and flimsy excuse.
Gaming companies suck, their attitude towards their customers is disgusting, I don’t buy games new anymore avoid large companies and go more indie companies if I can I buy second hand.

And the worst part the people who support it don’t realize how giving them a pass every time is why we are in this mess. Every time a sims influencer says how great it is it just hurts the franchise and people are dumb enough to keep buying it. If the sims dies, good, it should at this point.
EA threatening people to invest in The Sims 4 to make sure The Sims 5 happens only to not make The Sims 5 despite fans investing a ton of money in 4 (even after a decade) is literally the kind of thing you would see the irredeemable bad guy in a kids movie do.
I refused to buy TS4 after EA said they won't produce TS5 if TS4 isn't a success. I know people claim it was business logic but it was clearly a backhanded threat.
Simguru deactivating his account and the community changing their tune is the equivalent of a child doing something bad and getting scolded only to get coddled after crying about it
At this point I only play The Sims 4 when I want to build a house. If I want a life sim I've been playing Desperate Housewives The Game lol it has a really good cooking mini game and adequate gardening mini game and you can seduce the mailman.
I used to have a Desperate Housewives game on CD. I no longer have a disc drive, so I couldn't play it if I wanted to. But where did you get this game you're playing? Is it a DL?
Everything you're saying is true and people really hate hearing the truth. I gave up on Sims 4 many years ago (around the time after toddlers came out, journey to batuu, and all the unnecessary kits) because of all of the problems, lack of content, and how expensive the packs were for nothing. I've never bought a sims 4 pack at full price and always waited for sales because they're not worth it. When I bought high school years pack (on sale, of course) I was pretty shocked at how bad it was. I'm a huge Sims fan... I bought Sims 4 the day it released as well and was underwhelmed. I tried for years to give it a chance, but it's still extremely disappointing 10 years later and buggy as ever. It's virtually unplayable. The only thing that even keeps me coming back to it is the modding community and that's about it. I stick to playing Sims 3 now. Unfortunately for some reason I can't get my Sims 2 Ultimate Collection working at all on my computer these days.
Those who constantly defend Sims 4 and EA are almost always new gen players. 4 being your first sims game isn't bad, but it just seems that because it was their introduction to the series they can't take any criticism of it. When we tell them they should try the other games and see how much more they delivered compared to Sims 4, we almost always get shut down. It's weird.

I've said this a bunch of times on videos before and I'll keep saying it. They kept saying that it was all this person's fault, the game worked fine, they just broke it with mods so they need to just remove their mods and shut up, the Sims 4 is the greatest game of all time. The kicker though: OP WAS A CONSOLE PLAYER. Literally no possibility of mods and CC being the issue. Context: this particular bug was with laundry mechanics in the laundry day pack (some collision issues with the laundry bag going through the sim while they were holding it), and I can recall at least 5 patch notes saying it was fixed and every time I played it would work for a few interactions and then return to the bugged out laundry bag.
Lindsey is definitely the patsy for Sims (4), she's the "face", and nothing more, we all know Greedy EA calls the shots; she's who you go to when you look for who's producing the Sims franchise, and she's the one that will reap all of the credit. You can tell because of how much she flip flops on game opinions. Remember the advertising video of her joining Sims 3, and saying how much she loved open-world and family game play, watching her sims be lively and create their own stories; then when Sims 4 dropped(the ball), her new tune was that she loves closed words and micromanaging her sims lives because she doesn't want them randomly doing things she hadn't made them? No simmer in their right mind would want a lifeless doll house as their simulation game, micromanaging everything down to when they sims would fart (literally). She's the one who markets the Sims using whatever language will support the content, and you best believe she'll pretend she was hyped for it. Lindsey takes the credit for everything (good and bad), that's the "Face" for you, so a business can blame one person if things tank. Old Hollywood tactic smoke and mirrors to get the laymen redirecting their hate elsewhere; little does EA know, we know who pushes the decisions and approve of the developments... or, at least, some of us, them Sim Stans are the right ones for EA, I guess... 🤷🤷🤷
One of the biggest things for me is that we assume any criticism of the game is a criticism of all the individual programmers, but really, the criticism is on the company who doesn't spend enough money to make a good game. Basically, all the backlash against people being "mean" is people being corporate bootlickers
Thank you so much for doing these videos. im sad for what it has become, i was more than happy to give them money but they never fixed anything and i regret it.
"if you dont buy the sims 4, we wont make the sims 5" 😂😂😂 The snow thing really bothered me tbh, i love winter in game and i was already imagining the world with snow all over. I tried living in the new world but it was honestly kinda boring without seasons, i literally moved to willow creek after a few in game weeks
"-but there are other worlds that don't follow the 4 seasons, like look at Sulani" Because it makes sense in reality? Ravenwood's mostly based on Romania, which, surprise surprise, actually snows in real life! I don't know how much cope people can get with this. "Perpetual autumn" but it's green in summer and winter like I can't-🤣
After watching your Let's Play of the Moretti household, I felt inspired to reinstall Sims 3 after having put it aside since Sims 4 launched. I was surprised at just how much fun it is compared to the Sims 4. Each expansion pack in Sims 3 really delivers; they add so much depth and variety that you can easily play for days or weeks without feeling the need to buy anything new to stay engaged. On the other hand, Sims 4 DLCs feel shallow-they offer about two hours of novelty before the excitement fades, leaving you wanting more. It feels like you have to keep buying packs just to bring some spark to the game, but they rarely meet expectations, leading to disappointment again and again. Even with mods, it’s hard to escape the feeling of monotony. And don’t even get me started on the Sims’ terrible autonomy. They freeze in place, walk through walls, start doing push-ups at weddings, and completely ignore commands unless you spam the interaction. Even then, they’ll sit down for about four seconds before randomly getting up to sit somewhere else, craning their necks like an owl just to keep talking to a Sim in another room. It’s an absolute mess. The code is completely breaking down under all the new junk they keep piling onto it. It’s like they’re forcing more and more features into a system that just can’t handle it anymore, and it shows. I don't even want a Sims 5 because I know it's gonna be just as awful as the Sims 4, and more heavily monetized. You'll probably get the same old boring base game experience and have to individually pay for a couch and then pay for all of its swatches. 🙄
Thank you for your content. I am so happy that someone is talking about the ridiculous behavior of EA. Don't forget how badly they try to virtue signal to appeal to Western audiences (My Wedding Stories controversy in Russia), as if EA and moral principles have anything in common
Honestly, I love the sims 4, but man the way EA acts I feel ashamed that I've bought hundreds of dollars worth of dlc since I began playing. I've got all the expansions (aside from life and death) and all the occult game packs. I haven't played since life and death came out because I have to have my mods and I'm waiting for them all to get patched. I'm glad I never got engrossed into the sims 4 community though
Seconded. I am a writer, for fun, for myself. Sometimes, it's really fun to create the characters and put them in the world. My current save is so lively. I don't buy packs full price, though. I got a bunch of them from this one site for like way less than half off. like 20 bucks per EP which seems a lot more fair than what they make you pay.
I thought there was a lack of snow because of the nightly, night revelry thing with the lake. Can't dip in if it's frozen over, or imagine how many sims would freeze to death.
This is why i play the cracked version of the sims 4. They don’t deserve my money. And the content is not worth the money. And I don’t play often enough to play my money’s worth, because it’s boring.
I was there in the beginning too, I remember the lack of things and the explanation I heard was that since its an online downloaded game they would add things for free over time so don't worry the improvements are coming. So over time we got pools, ghosts, and toddlers. And then they stopped. The rest of the list didn't get done, or the vast majority because some came with packs so was behind a paywall. Which is a theme, they "give" us something, do it about halfway and stop. Likes and dislikes only come with new packs, they weren't willing to go in and add them for old packs because once a pack is released it pretty much doesn't exist for them anymore. The standards from The Sims 1 through 3 dropped significantly with 4. Unfortunately the majority of the player base didn't play the older games to understand that or, like the 'game changers', have forgotten, or "forgotten", over time. Now, I have a controversial take on JTB. I wasn't upset that they made it, I actually liked it to a major extent. My problem with it was that it wasn't "Star Wars" it was more a cosplay Star Wars theme park. We couldn't have a variety of aliens, we had people dressing up as aliens, we didn't have a force skill, there was so much they COULD have done but they just did what felt like the basics, which again is a theme as mentioned above. Lyndsay Pearson is also the one who said it was her decision to have so much less "chaos" in the game, you know consequences. She said she hated in previous The Sims games when she was playing and had a plan for her sim and something in the game messed it up or even they died from like a meteor strike out of the blue or something, so she made the decision so "people could tell their stories". So instead of a game we have a story simulator. Have you ever noticed how all the gurus in the livestreams, especially the early ones, talk about simmers telling stories? Yeah, because they thought that's what regular players did since thats what they saw people doing on youtube, whereas most of us were playing a game and liked when unexpected things happened.
I lost all my respect for the devs and Sim gurus behind the Sims 4 like straight up they just do the bare (damn even less than that) minimum for a game that makes over a million dollars A MONTH if not more and then cry because people pick up on their bullshit deactivating their Twitter account instead of act like professionals and adults facing the consequences of their own actions instead of locking themselves in their eco chambers inhaling their own farts And we all know why people bought the Journey to Batuu DLC just to being able to make Ray Palpatine and use wicked whims on her (and don't lie... I know you did...)
You should see how people bend over backwards to defend the decision of "no snow in Ravenwood" by saying they are liking this "eternal autumn" vibes. I'm no defender of the Sims Gurus, whether there is evidence of harassment or not, but harassing people over a video game is wrong. Knowing how feral people can get in Twitter, it is not impossible Ninja got threats privately. That pales in comparison of EA's blackmail of "If Sims 4 doesn't sell, there wont be a Sims 5". Also oh my days of my PTSD of seeing how Batuu went down. That was the moment I gave up on the Sims 4 going to be better.
Not to mention the CLEAR FAVORITISM they have towards certain influencer creators. Absolute trash. RIP the good ones, Maxis, who got absorbed by the greediest company ever, EA.
Wym "if modders can't do it, neither can we" THEY ARE LIMITED TO ASSETS FROM YOUR GAME! They work with what you provide 😭 ladders didn’t exist, so it was impossible.. Sims team made ladders, bunk beds became possible. It's not rocket science 😭
I bought a physical copy of Sims 4 the day it came out. I couldn't play it when I got it because I had satalite internet and it took an entire day to download -.-
I remember that when the horse ranch expansion came out, it was mentioned that “hey, this $55 expansion pack doesn’t have very many features or gameplay” and someone basically commented, “Well… animating horses is hard and probably took up most of the resources” and while I’m sure animating horses is hard, it seems weird to say “for only $55 we can only give you horses (on top of the base game you likely also paid for if you didn’t get it recently after it became free)”when for $15 more you can get Breath of the wild…. Which has the entirety of the game breath of the wild, which includes horses…
My god the sims guru are dramatic as Hell. Crazy how people switched sides so quickly why are they so adamant on mooching the gurus' asses I'm crying 😭
EA has killed some of my most loved franchises (rip PvZ garden warfare), literally scammed me out of 6 sims 4 packs while customer support told me that "it is what it is" and to just "buy them again" and now they cancel Sims 5 for a mobile game and half working sims 4 packs. Seriously F this company
Another problem that nobody talks about is instead of going after EA for a lackluster game they go after modders and attack them for not uploading fast enough, when it’s literally not their job to do this
I love The Sims series, which is why I'm the biggest EA hater lmao. They've ruined revolutionary, fun, quirky series with lots of dark humor into soulless, boring mess of corporate overconsumption and community protecting them is still one of the biggest disappointments. Thx for a great video!
Im disappointed in myself that I spent SO much money on this game. (I bought every single pack up until Lovestruck). I can’t even play the game for 5 minutes without bugs that completely interrupt my gameplay. If I queue up tasks for my sims, they glitch out at the first one and just stand there for hours (in game hours) on end staring into the abyss. **sigh**
At least you should feel proud that you have realized that this was a bad investment, and know not to do it any more. We can't say the same for a lot of the players who keep the money hungry machine alive.
Ea is the reason I have trust issues with gaming companies. Growing up being gaslit into giving hundreds for a game that is buggy and doesn't work. Begging my mom for the new expansion for birthdays and holidays. We didn't have money, so sometimes that'd be the only gift I got. To now get stardew updates and minecraft updates for free. I didn't know how taken advantage of I was, and it created my villan era. I refuse to allow the rich to keep feeding me garbage while they tell me its fine dining.
That simguru Grant 'threat' (lets be honest, he was just throwing a hissy fit) was in a Sims 4 forum post where people where reacting about the empty ass game they just downloaded, how disappointed they were and how they'd be sticking with sims 2/3 for a while (and rightly so)-- that 'If you don't $upport us, there won't be a sims 5 you know' was him being snarky about the playerbase's first reaction to that trash fire
#IwasThereIremember Sims 4 was the last game I ever preordered, and the last I ever will. The one thing I can thank that thing for is for teaching me a valid lesson 🙏🏻 Never preorder a videogame Well, two. That and 'it's always morally correct to pirate from EA'
The Sims 4 community seriously thinks anyone who disagrees with them on any topic is "toxic." Like who tf takes them seriously anymore at this point? And who knows if that designer even took down his Twitter himself, it could've been EA themselves for all we know. Then there's those that wonder why some of us just still play the older titles
I’m just sick of big channels criticizing the sims 4 and being so dramatic only to turn around and make videos getting “hyped” for a new pack then getting mad when it’s inevitably not up to standard. It’s like why make a huge deal out of this if we aren’t gonna stand on business and idk? Boycott the sims? Not like it would do much this late in the game though.
There's an issue with toxic positivity in the Sims' community. A lot of people seem to equate criticism to 'being mean'.
As others have said, it's certain (relatively small, they just SEEM huge because they're so vocal) groups that are like that, not generations as a whole.
"Maybe bunk beds are just hard to make" said the guru for the game who had them in 2009 XD. I guess technology regressed a lot since then 🤡
They be lyin. They can’t say, “my boss is forcing me to release this before it’s done”
It really did, color wheels ?.. I still believe they can implement them, it’s just vey hard so they just don’t bother
But the Sims 4 has bunkbeds now
Toddlers, pools, ghosts and myriad other things that were in TS3 FROM THE START must have been hard to make too 🥺 it’s ridiculous
Well the sims 4 engine is honestly way worse than the engine of the sims 3 so I do believe it wasn't easy thing to code - which begs the question why on earth are they still developing this hot garbage of a game and haven't moved on to the sims 5 yet
No WAY people are still defending the sims
Im not defending, that's why I use the ANADIUS services 👀👀👀
Yeah they're because those people are delusional and they live too close in their eco chambers where everyone is nice and anyone who dares to criticize it get blocked
The same people defending Disney
Yeah, they are. In a SatchOnSims thread where someone was complaining about bugs a EA shill said about how they just fixed a major bug what are you talking about they fix things all the time. He actually said that, like it was ok that these lackluster packs came out full of bugs in the first place because they fix some of the problems later
Listen, i like the sims, i don’t like EA.
The best thing the Sims situation has ever taught me is to never be loyal to a company.
Pretty much. Though I grew up with Nintendo, and I haven't "broken up" with them yet...
Never be loyal to BAD companies, ones like larian and now game science deserve all the loyal fans

No literally like Ea was founded in 1982. It’s been 40 years.
sims 4 fans have a serious issue with infantilizing people and this company, it's been around for decades... they know what they are doing, they are a business first and foremost and everything they do is calculated and purposeful.
@@solomonwreath5576 this is so true lol the amount of times I’ve heard players say “guys we need to support the devs” anytime people criticize the game… 😭
Ikr? I started playing, with the 1st game but I stepped off the sims4 train when the Wedding pack launched. $40 for a broken pack??? From EA of all developpers???? Yeah, the bugs are a choice and no amount of bullying from toxic sims4 players will convince me otherwise.
🤷🏾♀️
Would you say the sims 4 devs lacks talent, or are they just lazy?
I HAVE to shoot my shot. Do you work at mlbb? 😂
@@Carrots-sb7qo I think most of it comes down to producers and shareholders shoving down bullshit down the throats of devs and designers. Not so long ago shortly after sims 5/project rene's cancelation I read comments blaming inzoi and paralive's supporters, saying all we wanted was for the sims to die.
We just want to have More options because of how shallow sims 4 Is smh.

How DARE anyone make actual competition? How DARE anyone want for a better game?? How DARE we want our money's worth???
Project Renee wasn’t cancelled afaik, it just was not Sims 5. They didn’t cancel Sims 5 they just officially announced they were never working on it in the first place. People just assumed Project Renee was going to be Sims 5 when it was announced

Baffles me how sim guru says it’s hard to make bunk beds when they were in the sims 2/3 the sims 2 is what ? 20 years old... cmon now
Bunk Beds weren't in The Sims 2 without mods. You're thinking of 3.
Especially Sims 3, with all of its “problems”. I’m so happy I was able to switch to 2 & 3 again.
A MODDER MADE THEM AFTER THE GURU SAID THAT

the cancellation of the sims 5 should’ve sealed the deal for long time simmers that the sims team has no passion anymore. they can try to fake it with these little too late lore editions and acting like they care but if they did, they’d pour it into a new working fresh game. not keep milking the hell out of this one. because like they said it themselves they don’t want simmers to start over…
It was never Sims 5 to begin with 😂😂
They dont want us to enjoy the sims4 like sims3 players are doing now: unbothered and happy!
*Twitter.
Im gonna be honest, I used to watch a whole lotta series (creepy pasta and other mods) of it(sims 4, around 2016ish) So in a way it was part of my childhood (when I also brought a couple packs I loved as well)
although I still play it for the memories I had,it’s still pretty messed up.

My working theory is EA fired the programmers that actually know how to code after Sims 3 and the Sims 4 was coded by 3 interns in a trenchcoat.
The last expansion that had the full experience of seasons (with snow) was high school years over TWO YEARS AGO. It's a pattern atp.
as much as i think not having seasons in l&d is bs, i feel like it should be pointed out that all the worlds since copperdale DO have seasons compatibility, they’re just not based on areas that have a pattern of 4 seasons irl.
it makes sense for tomarang to have dry and wet seasons bc it’s based on se asia. san sequoia is based on san francisco which famously has cool foggy summers, ciudad enamorada is based on mexico city which is in the tropics, chesnut ridge is the us southwest. none of those have the typical 4 seasons, but ravenwood SHOULD bc it’s based on the us northeast which is known for heavy snowfall in winter.

Gaslight. Gatekeep.
Don't say that too loud. I got harassed for calling inzoi out
@theamazingpoof2205 I'm not too worried about harassment. I do not care enough for that to matter to me. What I do care about is warning others to be careful. If someone does not care about privacy and personal data security, then go for it. It will be interesting to see what happens. But do not say that others and I didn't warn you. Ha

There's some shenanigans going on with EA. I don't know how it ties in, but I'm noticing a pattern in their products. Dragon Age is getting RAKED over the coals right now.
Xmiramira said that? No way💀💀💀💀
Right!?! I was shook when I saw her tweet up there
the people who play the sims 4 genuinely seem to lack critical thinking. why are they so offended by people critiquing the game? all games are susceptible to criticism. especially ones that are knowingly sucking money out of their consumers and lying. god forbid people have a differing opinion. the intense hate people SPECIFICALLY have towards you is genuinely gross. it’s mob mentality
thank you 🙌
You know what’s funny about the bugs in this game?
Gaming companies suck, their attitude towards their customers is disgusting, I don’t buy games new anymore avoid large companies and go more indie companies if I can I buy second hand.
hell yeah! indie games are the future 🙌
malcolm is giving everything i needed in 2014 when ts4 came out i was booed on tumblr for not liking ts4 😂
@@peaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa haha justice for 2014 simmers 🙌
lol the sims is like that rich kid in college who has to have their parents pay their way to graduation. Sure they’re charismatic and nice but talented? Haha nope.
At this point I am so done with The Sims 4 that even sailing the high seas to get the packs isn't worth it anymore.
It's just so boring.
Simguru deactivating his account and the community changing their tune is the equivalent
of a child doing something bad and getting scolded only to get coddled after crying about it
I love how people started gaslight each other after guru deactivated their account
Is it a DL?
@@BunE22 I bought it on disc from ebay, it came from Germany but it is in English. I think it was $14 CDN. I love the cooking mini game.
It's weird.
same. only play the sims 3 anymore, sims 4 is so soulless and boring by comparison
Yeah Pixelade cried "Leave my multi billion dollar company alone!" in a video about that 'harassment'. The guy is such a shill while acting like he's 'one of us'.
Because we don't give a fuck how much you don't like the game but writing simsgurus death threats and bullying them over a damn game is entirely to damn much. If you don't like the damn game just stop buying and playing it DUH 😂😂😂
@shamiaworld8897 overreaction much! Baby watch the video
@@shamiaworld8897who sent death threats? Once again the simguru’s dns are closed. So they would have had ti sent a public death threat. And people being mean is constant within the community yall do it to each other all the time. I’m not saying they deserve to be degraded but ffs someone calling the dev lazy isn’t that serious the man isn’t crying over what some random person says online ppl have has negative takes on this game for years.
@@shamiaworld8897 you have to be twelve or something. there's no way a grown adult is going under tons of comments and writing out defense paragraphs for a COMPANY
This is why I’m playing sims 3 now
same!!
I never got the sims 4 I just play the sims 3 lol
@ I make my sims hoes and have lot kids get drunk at the bar
I've said this a bunch of times on videos before and I'll keep saying it. I knew that the community especially had a gaslighting culture when I was looking on the forums for help with a bug, and I saw multiple moderators absolutely bullying a poor person for describing the exact same bug I had. Context: this particular bug was with laundry mechanics in the laundry day pack (some collision issues with the laundry bag going through the sim while they were holding it), and I can recall at least 5 patch notes saying it was fixed and every time I played it would work for a few interactions and then return to the bugged out laundry bag.
that jackofallgames dude is SUCCCCCHHHHH an ea shill its insane
🤷🤷🤷
It's been 20 plus years and no Spiral Stairs. It has become clear that EA management not the designers are cheap and lazy.
There are spiral staircases in The Sims 3
One of the biggest things for me is that we assume any criticism of the game is a criticism of all the individual programmers, but really, the criticism is on the company who doesn't spend enough money to make a good game. Basically, all the backlash against people being "mean" is people being corporate bootlickers
Another day, another slay!! And Malcolm is here to expose EA for gaslighting the Sims players 💅
Keep clocking them, Malcolm 💅
Thank you so much for doing these videos. im sad for what it has become, i was more than happy to give them money but they never fixed anything and i regret it.
Please, please make a video about how the sims4 players and creators behave kinda... like a cult?
the fact that a life simulation game released a "life and death" expansion pack should speak for itself
"if you dont buy the sims 4, we wont make the sims 5" 😂😂😂
The snow thing really bothered me tbh, i love winter in game and i was already imagining the world with snow all over. I tried living in the new world but it was honestly kinda boring without seasons, i literally moved to willow creek after a few in game weeks
I'm glad that you're spreading awareness of how *the rest* of the gaming world works among the sims players, notMalcolm 🖤
2:29 meanwhile they cancelled it anyway
EA manipulates their players? Fork found in kitchen and water is wet. People need to realise that criticising their interests ≠ criticising them.
A big thank you to modders for doing the job, EA is too lazy to do. You guys keep the Sims alive.
I lost all my respect for the devs and Sim gurus behind the Sims 4 like straight up they just do the bare (damn even less than that) minimum for a game that makes over a million dollars A MONTH if not more and then cry because people pick up on their bullshit deactivating their Twitter account instead of act like professionals and adults facing the consequences of their own actions instead of locking themselves in their eco chambers inhaling their own farts
And we all know why people bought the Journey to Batuu DLC just to being able to make Ray Palpatine and use wicked whims on her (and don't lie...
It was so weird watching all this unfold on Twitter. The people who lit the flame got mad at the people who added the wood
Not to mention the CLEAR FAVORITISM they have towards certain influencer creators. Absolute trash. RIP the good ones, Maxis, who got absorbed by the greediest company ever, EA.
Oh my god the way I gleefully click these vids. They're so damn refreshing thank you for not lining up to crawl up EA's dark place.
thank you haha i’m glad you enjoy them!
Wym "if modders can't do it, neither can we" THEY ARE LIMITED TO ASSETS FROM YOUR GAME! They work with what you provide 😭 ladders didn’t exist, so it was impossible.. Sims team made ladders, bunk beds became possible. It's not rocket science 😭
oh i'm so glad i only play the game and stay out of the community, cause stan twitter already makes me go crazy...
Guys, you need to chill. The Sims 4 is still on beta. (contains irony)
I was so confused why snow wouldn’t accumulate in ravenwood. & this is why 😂💀💀💀
My god the sims guru are dramatic as Hell. Crazy how people switched sides so quickly why are they so adamant on mooching the gurus' asses I'm crying 😭
The bunk bed part got me laugh.
My mom and I are pissed because the Reaper Rewards Event has been buggy since it launched a month ago, and there is still no fix.
Sims+Twitter= Never good.
Another problem that nobody talks about is instead of going after EA for a lackluster game they go after modders and attack them for not uploading fast enough, when it’s literally not their job to do this
THIS!
I'm just glad we have Malcolm to watch our backs and call people out. great video as always!
appreciate you watching!!
This is literally their only job 😭 It's so unprofessional of him tbh.
The one thing I can thank that thing for is for teaching me a valid lesson 🙏🏻 Never preorder a videogame
Well, two. That and 'it's always morally correct to pirate from EA'
hahaha yeah iirc he didn’t exactly have the best soft skills
The situation we are in is sad but damn I love your videos about toxic sims community
I always despise EA. The whole sims 4 thing is a train wrack!
Can't wait for other life sim games to come out. Especially the Indie ones
