This is literally my favorite childhood/teen shows, no joke. It honestly helped me get so invested into other works of fiction that involved mystery and deep plots. I was always so hyped for the next episode every week!
YESSS! Somebody ACTUALLY still cares about this show in 2018! I was going to make a few videos here and there, but alas, my motivation seems to have scattered here and there. I miss this show, and I miss having the first reactions to all the crazy revelations that ensued in Detentionaire.
You kidding me? I have loved this show for such a long time, and am somewhat ashamed this is really the first time I am talking about it. The most difficult part of talking about it is the level of dancing around spoilers you have to do, because the narrative is so tightly woven. I have also never really seen any videos tackling the subject, so I felt it prominent to discuss.
The cliffhangers made the show really addictive. No plot holes and a organized flow made the show grow and develop as episodes continue. The animation may be lacking, however the story and plot and characters made the show amazing. Nice to see characters grow and develop. The monomyth cycle of Lee Ping extended to other characters but placing focus on Lee but not overshadowing supporting characters. Sometimes when having multiple stories in some episodes not one story is more important. Example when lee is investigating the council and cam investigating who is blackmailing him. Both stories are important and get solved and progressed the show
I’ve started watching this show-man it’s hard to stop watching I love how each episode is connected to each other and no filler or random episodes each one is important in some way like, how many cartoons, or even shows in general can boast that??
I love this show so much! I cried because I had a dream about the opening of season 5... it was beautiful... but then I woke up. We need a season 5... I want to know the ending. Thank you for blessing me with this video. There are STILL fans out there!
Thank you so much more talking about Detentionaire! I found out about it a few years back and binge watched it and loved how the story went on and was so upset that the series didn't get a new season! Thank you again for giving it the recognition it deserves!
It's a damn good show, my only issue with it is that (and I may be reading this wrong) the way Holger's character is written seems like it may have been intended to be a tad transphobic.
oh my god i loveeee this show! i stumbled onto it back in 2013 after someone mentioned it, highly praising its background art, and i remember i was looking for a distraction during a SUPER rough second year in undergrad -- i had gotten incredibly sick and was in the hospital and missed about 3 weeks of class, and detentionaire fell into my life on the first day after i'd returned and was grappling with all the work i was going to have to catch up on, on top of finals being less than a month away. and just, man, detentionaire became my crutch -- i would watch it as a reward after getting back in for the day while eating a meal and then go do a bunch of work and treat myself to another few episodes during work breaks. and after i crawled out of that semester, i just kept up with the show as we got new seasons and episodes. because not only was it something i had a deep emotional connection to, but it also was a wonderful and amazing show that looked so unique and had great characters and an enthralling plot full of foreshadowing and hints and high school sleuthing. i really really love detentionaire, and i'm so happy i stumbled onto this video that shares the sentiment of how well done the show really, truly was.
Detentionaire came on my tv once on the kids channels recently and i got so obsessed with it!!!! They need to carry it on they cant just leave on a cliff hanger😭😭😭

Gravity falls is my favourite show but Detentionaire is my second. Season 4 ended answering nothing about the pyramid or the clones so I hope they add a season 5 to answer them.
I know this is late, but I have it reversed. I was more interested in the first season of Detentionaire than Gravity Falls as you feel like you’re going somewhere unlike Gravity Falls where they have filler in season one and got more plot heavy season two. To me Detentionaire is more focused and I prefer detective shows a lot.

Most of what i have found on its cancellation was that when Cartoon Network got ahold of the show for The US audience, they aired episodes out of order, censored and removed episodes completely. It led to low viewership and its cancellation.
@@mictheartist7991 unfortunately, they didn't even air it. They listed the episodes on their app, and from what I could tell, they put them in alphabetical order.

I kind of agree. I'm glad the series turned its tone down after the first episode, because if it didn't, I honestly would have been completely turned off from it. This is why I don't watch certain shows like Clone High for example.
I got to say, this show is amazing. I absolutely love how this series goes way beyond Lee finding out who set him up with the prank on the first day, and how he delves deeper and deeper down this rabbit hole of conspiracy, as well as finding out a lot of things that raise questions. The plot points are like so neatly woven together in this growing narrative that is constantly building upon itself. It's absolutely ingenious how the story just keeps outdoing itself with all these plot devices that the characters go through throughout the series. It sucks that the series got discontinued at the end of the fourth season, because there are many questions that remain unanswered. Here are a few (Spoilers ahead): 1. What was Lynch's motivation to frame Lee in the first place, or to put it simply, why did he frame him? I mean, obviously he is Finwich's apprentice/assistant, so it would have made sense for Lee to have been framed for a good reason since he is smack dab in the middle of this whole conspiracy, hence his connection to the pyramid under the school and that mark on his arm. It just wasn't clear as to why Lynch, out of all the characters, framed him and how he was able to get away with it so easily without having to face the consequences. 2. What is the relation between Lee Ping and Li Ping (Stinkninja)? It was revealed that Li was the baby in the picture, so that kind of proves that they are brothers, but one time, Li mentioned to Lee "You are nothing but a half-wit copy of me." or something like that. So, are they just brothers or is Lee really a younger clone of Li? Lee's dad must be the one who has the answer to this, since he's been keeping secrets from Lee this whole time, because if Lee turns out to be a clone of Li just like how his mom is a clone like all the other teachers, that would be a big deal and a real gamechanger. But we don't know if he is or if he isn't. 3. What is the deal with the arm-markings on Mann, Wurst, Finwich, and Ping, or more specifically, what sort of special power or specific connection to the pyramid do the marking-bearers possess? The big lizard thing that came out of the pyramid gave them those markings on their arms, but for what purpose exactly? Was it to bring forth the destruction of human kind and the lizard people to take over the world using the pyramid or something? Maybe they were all marked so all four of them can be used as 'keys' to unlock the pyramid's full power while it's opened, causing the end of the world or something? And maybe Lee was given the protection on his arm-marking so that he wouldn't die from unlocking the pyramid? This question is very up in the air, as this is all just speculation of the purpose of those markings.
Well, I've got (kinda) an answer for your questionn for Li (the servant)/Lee ping's relationship, per se...Apparently,Li and Lee were actually long lost brothers (from what I recall reading on about the series long/many,many moons ago again, mind you..)-One _WHOM was stolen/taken as a baby and used for whatever the main antagonists were doing at the time (Think: supersolider/assassin for their conspiracy,yada-yada) and Lee (our main protagonist here) was the..err,replacement child/hypothetical twin (albeit Lee probably came aroundlater on after his brother was taken away from his parents,again-mind you..so he was the replacement kid after Li was kidnapped, mind you-so..) and they were gonna do a "sitcom-like" situation had the series continued before they cancelled it..
Honestly, This show seemed to have been broadcasted only in 1 french channel which truly saddens me, it also seems that there is no existing version except for the english one on youtube
Too say this here my opinion on the show in general Pros: -Good mystery for season 1 - a likable main cast in Cam, Lee, and Bif - character development in Tina, Cam, Brandi, Jenny, Biff and Many others - Easy to binge series - An environment that doesn't distract you from the story. -Decent villains in season 1, and Serpant -side characters that are interesting and fun to see on screen such as Cyrus, the goofy 15 th. @@fxtima2613 Holy crap, this is old as hell, please disregard that outdated opinion. Camp Lakebottom is basically about 3 kids that were *meant* to go to some really awesome, cool and high-tech summer camp, but they get lost because the stereotypical bully character switches the directions sign around. So instead of that really shiny and new summer camp, they end up at Camp Lakebottom. It's an old, decrepit and generally spooky camp with a zombie and a Sasquatch as councillors, a creepy old lady as a chef, and a giant tentacle monster in the lake (both camps are just over the lake from each other, leading to the bully ending up always coming over, causing trouble and then getting his butt kicked). It was a good show (at least, that's how I remember it), but nowhere near as good as the others I mentioned.

Are they gonna make a next season in Detentionaire?
but we need needed neeeeeeeed season 5 like yesterday
I really liked this show and its animation. But I find it went to far from the original plot, got overly sci-fi and didn't have a true ending ( resolution)
Can you please can a video, with spoilers
ARE THEY MAKING SEASON 5 OR NOT PLS TELL ME !!!!!!!!!!
We need to set up some kind of fan story to continue it... like a novel or web comic...
There is a fanmade continuation just recently www.wattpad.com/story/238089423-detentionaire-the-game-begins
Christine Marie Gepilano Thank you!
Christine Marie Gepilano It’s shite.
Detentionaire, Camp Lakebottom and Slugterra > Gravity Falls, Samurai Jack and Teen Titans (original)
whats camp lakebottom about?
@@dist0rted320 i know this thing is rlly old and thabks
@@dist0rted320 I never got into compared to Detentionaire. It looked boring to me.
@@dist0rted320 Booooooy, good thing you took that back...your opinion is laughable.
