Ok Risa, let’s be honest: you can manage this routine in 10-15 minutes because you are a makeup artist. You are a pro. If I’m being very focused and dedicated and practice this a few times, I believe I might manage it in 30 minutes. No less. I started wearing makeup in the mid 60s. My one and only foundation tool was my fingers. We knew no differently. I use other tools now but I still prefer to use my fingers for foundation. Of course I wash my hands prior. I'm so happy you clarified that there's nothing wrong with finger application. 👍🏻
I just don't like feeling a ton of product on my fingers. I do use my fingers for my undereye and eye makeup. Also I'm clumsy so I want to avoid getting foundation all over my clothes and dressing table and mirror. Lol!
You’re so right about using fingers for foundation. I’m 56 and when I was young everyone used their fingers. I remember you could buy make up sponge wedges but I don’t recall anyone using them. To this day I use fingers for foundation. I’ve tried using brushes and blenders but I can’t get the beautiful natural finish I get with fingers. I love the look in a palettes from CT. When I’m in a hurry for work they’re my go to every time.

Fingers for MAC F&B and similar fluidy foundations definitely! Ring finger to dab in concealer for me also, only use a brush when I happen to use my BareMin brighten concealer mineral powder. :) Thanks Risa!

I did a Google search. It depends on the brown. It's got to be a warm brown not a cool brown. Also try plum, purple, coral, bronze and copper. It mentioned warm and reddish shades but not pink.
@@MM-li8nk I think best most people are looking for a neutral palette or have brown or blue eyes. Grey eyes are rare. I'm black so I wouldn't buy the Charlotte Tilbury palette because the shades would not show up on my skin. Urban Decays palettes like Heat and Ultraviolet are more my speed.

Love to know if you’ve got a one and all in done, you know, for those days when that’s all you’re up for.
CT setting spray is 1 of the best products to come out of 2020, and the flawless filter now comes in a mini so I'll buy that now because am like you Risa i would only use it on the cheek bones so i think the mini is perfect
Beautiful Risa, I never thought of using the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter as a highlighter on top of the cheekbones, genius. I use Estée Lauder Double Wear a lot as well and sometimes, as you say, you just want a bit of glow on the matt.🥰💜
Risa, I love you and your videos! May l ask you what drug store concealor you recommend for mature under eye skin? That covers and brightens, but won't cake up. I'm tired of throwing money at bad products! Thank you!😊💖
Um... I don't think there is any drugstore concealer that will do all of that. A lot of people like the Maybelline anti age/age rewind eraser cushion top concealer. To avoid caking you have to apply a sheer layer. To brighten you have to use a corrector first and then a brightening powder in sheer layers. Also placement is key. Whatever you do don't do that semi-circle or the hideous giant triangle of product. It's too much for mature skin and small eyes and undereye spaces. Wayne Goss and Robert Welsh prefer to use two dots where you need it most and then blend. So even the amount Risa used is too much for them. I also saw another artist say only conceal in your under eye socket line because that where the blood pools the most to create the most darkness. For me, I'm 39 but my skin is in fairly good condition and my under eyes are usually concealed with foundation. On days where I am not wearing foundation, I apply a sheer layer of any drug store concealer and powder it works. The brands I use are LA girl, Revolution and Sleek UK. I've used mac cream concealer before but for me there is no huge difference between that and my drugstore concealers. I also use an eye cream, an eye spf and an eye primer. Sometimes the cakey-ness come from dry under eyes. I like using my fingers for undereye concealer because it really warms up and blends it. Whatever you do don't bake your undereyes. Mature and/or dry skin cannot handle it. I use a brush (sometimes an eyeshadow brush) to give me the sheerest amount of undereye powder.

Looking beautiful, Risa! I had bought (and used) the CT Instant Look In a Palette primarily for travel (I have the Smokey Eye Beauty). In 2020, when I found I just needed a quick and easy look most days, I reached for that palette more and more (to the point where I bought back-ups when it went on sale). It really is so easy and versatile, and the look lasts all day.
I want to share the way I apply mascara. I apply the mascara to both sides of my upper and lower lashes. I first using a magnifying mirror apply the mascara to upper side of my top lashes. It seems you are knocking down your lashes. I then immediately apply the mascara in the usual way. They curl right up. I never need an eyelash curler. I repeat this again so it is 4 coats. I think because there is mascara on both sides of lashes, that it supports the curl in the lashes. You can do the same technique on lower lashes. I love the way my lashes look. I was actually asked if I had lash extensions. They do look full and not clumpy. I use Loreal lash paradise mascara.
There is no way I could use 4 coats of lash paradise. Lol! I use a mascara guard and the seems to do the trick for me. My lashes are fine, small and unruly. I'm obsessed with Max Factor Masterpiece waterproof.
@@marleyhill34 it is really only 2 coats as you are applying on both sides of lashes. They are not clumpy . I have never used false lashes. With this technique I don`t feel I need to. Just wanted to share

I love having everything in 1 pallette and the Stoned Roses pallette was my first CT purchase. Although I really like it I feel the first 2 eye colours are a bit too shimmery for me and I wish I'd bought the other colour way, which has more pinky/burgundy eye colours, but I think it's discontinued 😕. It looks much better on you than me x

@@lindatollerton7305 OK. Lash paradise is way too thick for my fine lashes. After I used it, I always have to comb through my lashes to unclump them.
