I shot the slow motion using the phone's own camera app rather than DJI MIMO. As for the rotating axis, I had the gimbal control set in FPV mode and physically rotated my hand around the phone to perform the barrel roll. FPV is the only mode where the gimbal doesn't hold "level" so it just follows however you hold it. Slow motion helps that roll look fluid.

It depends on your phone app. This slow motion was done outside of MIMO. Check the full review linked in description for more.
