    I love your tutorials because they are so easy to follow! You take your time to show us every step, even measuring wire! I would love to see a tutorial on wrapping an irregularly shaped stone that's been tumbled. I have a bunch of them, but no way to wrap them so they don't look terrible! Thank you for your patience in teaching us a difficult lesson!

    This is lovely. When using such soft metals how does it hold up to constant wearing? Does the metal eventually change color? If a child tugs on it really hard, will it come apart?

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It holds up well, but yes a child tugging hard would bend it out of shape

    • @OxanaCrafts

      you can try putting that rubbery type medical tape on your fingers, or more rough cabochons like lava rock would be less slippery

    I love your video Oxana!! I have almost completed this piece but am stuck. I am using half hard Sterling wire. I am at the next step to the last, where you take the two wires, cut them and tuck them in. The wire is so hard I'm afraid to cut it because I'm not sure that I can get it tucked in. What do you think? Do you have any ideas? Thank you so much.

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe you can bend then in the direction they will be tucked, or even pull them through, so the wire is already in the right bend\position before you cut it

    do you have tutorial for a hexagonal crystal gemstone?

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have a ring one, but you could follow most of the pendant tutorials that have a frame going around the stone, since you can just shape and bend that frame to go around the stone you have.

      Caro G your such a nice person. Now do you know how I can stop wire from tarnishing or if there is some kind of wire I can use that won’t tarnish as fast? Also what size wire do you find works best?

    • @carog7064
      @carog7064 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks barbc38, :). Silver and copper do tarnish fast. Some people like the antique look. Brass and stainless steel wire don't tarnish as much though they have a different look and sheen than silver, copper and gold wire. I have sterling silver coated copper wire 20 years old that's barely tarnished because I always kept it in ziploc bags, so you can try sealing your wire or work in ziploc bags. You can get a jewelry polishing cloth to get the tarnish off. I've also heard the little silica gel bags that you find inside new purse pockets and vitamin bottles put in with silver jewelry prevent tarnish. I'm just trying it & haven't seen results yet. For wire size, it depends on what the project is. I prefer to wrap with 26 gauge, even 24 g, sometimes 28 g breaks from so much winding & it's finer. I like 18 g for a bracelet, 20 & 22 g dead soft for the base wires of a pendant. Hope this helps. Happy wiring!
