Been thinking about buying one of these but the more TH-cam videos I watch the more confused I get. A simple slow step by step would help rather than someone who is already familiar with scanners rattling through the features.
Hi, I've enjoyed your vids and I've learned a lot from them, well done and thank you . I'm a retired truck driver with a little CB knowledge from a million years ago , so I decided to buy the UBC125XLT . It's a nice bit of of kit but I've not had much enjoyment from it due to the stock rubber duck and the fact that I'm located in an urban area . I'm expecting a delivery today of a Skyscan Desktop 25-1300MHZ Scanner Antenna which hopefully will dramatically improve my [ reception ] and enjoyment of my UBC125XLT , here's hoping . And thanks again .🗼🎧👍
@@HamTechRadioScannerDrones I'm not having any joy at all . I think I'm getting about the same reception as the stock rubber duck . Something's amiss ?
I’m probably thick, but is there a Band Plan 2 on this radio? It says so in manual but I can’t find it! Would be grateful for your help. Thanks. Eamonn.
There is a preset service selection for airband marine , emergency etc also each number has a different band , th-cam.com/video/47J_-96d5PE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=AcKQeYamf9V5a8kV
Hi there! Do you know if Albrecht AE125 and Uniden UBC125XLT technically the same models, but branded differently? Can't find much of info how to buy Uniden in EU....
@@HamTechRadioScannerDrones alright good because I've ordered one, I used to have a manual tuning scanner and got the planes and railway on it but that was ages ago. I live next to a railway and used to hear the workers cussing each other lol on the scanner ,
I got one of these but all this stuff is bewildering. I just want to tell it "scan railroad" or "scan aircraft". All this programming stuff is too much.
Do this , press hold then FUNC then press Srch then you can search through Airraft Military marine etc then whilst in hold mode press F you can scroll the different types
@@HamTechRadioScannerDrones Okay, that starts the search on railroad (or whatever I pick) but the search then continues on through the other search bands.
@@HamTechRadioScannerDrones Ah, figured it out! When you are in "service search" mode, you can decide which "services" to search by pushing the number keys. For example, if you want to listen to search only civilian air frequencies, that is service number 6, so press all the other number keys to turn off 1-5 and 7-0. This way you can easily switch between railroad, air, police, etc.

There is no simple with this Radio , the Hold button is your friend .
@@felixalbion Honestly, follow the TH-cam videos...take your time and within a couple of days max you will be flying

My cat keeps meowing even though she has food, water, and everything she needs. Can you make a tutorial on how to work cats, instead of Bearcats?

Is there a way of checking your signal or if the antena is working?
Go on a hill listen
Is the the pre-programmed version (the -500 one)
Not sure what you are asking ?

These are a very low price .
@@HamTechRadioScannerDrones here in us currency is about 200 dollar for that model.
It’s like $90 on Amazon rn totally worth it

It isnt difficult if you stick with it.
Agree many give up at the first jump .
It’s to difficult to program it’s going back.
Yes all scanners very hard to learn push the Hold button .

@@RCAvhstape thank you!
This scanner is a usability nightmare
Massive learning Curve but the quick way is select hold type freq , or select search -Hold button is your secret weapon.
Too fast without explanation
It's a very complicated device to learn .
