    Games with that kind of graphics have a way to stimulate my imagination that 3D can't touch. They had more style like comic books, and were less trying to look real.

      Rodiculous There is indeed and I play spme (Hotline Miami, Wolf Among US, etc). A game I really liked back in the days was B.A.T. 2 Koshan Conspiracy.
      Adventure game with secret agent story, freedom in a great looking city, and some life simulator aspects (need to eat, drink, etc).

    • @rodiculous9464

      ***** yup I recently picked up Sinless on steam, if you don't mind point and click adventure games it's pretty good. one cool thing about those cartoony graphics is that it's much more indie-friendly since the budget involved is much smaller but you can still make a great game.

    Drive through postapocalyptic seaside city in my hot pink Lambo, use katana to summon undead-summoning panther, use giant robot arms to pull apart it's head to open portal to land of techno-skeletons with bad posture, blow up car to unleash chromed hoverbike, exceed skeletonland speed limit to fly to disturbingly organic/industrial penthouse suite of tallest building, confront annoyed, glowing kitchen disposal unit, break favorite pair of mirrored wrap-arounds.

    For people that didn't quite catch it, here's the story:
    The mechanical alien beings have laid waste to our planet and the spirit of vengeance (the puma) is
    coming to the graveyard to resurect one of the most powerful human warriors to take revenge
    againts the oppressors. Once she is selected from the spirit world she is resurrected and rides untill the sunset
    in order to summon the puma spirit to open a warp gate to the alien homeworld. There she quickly heads for the
    ultimate being to show him her eyes of death and sacrifice herself to destroy it and avenge humanity.

      Actually, this is Perturbator's representation of the Apocalypse, Hell and Satan, in that order. You can clearly see satanic elements all over the video, including a black cat and a triangle as a gate to hell (symbolism), not to mention inverted pentagrams and crosses. In Perturbators case, Hell is represented as an cybernetics, soulless, dystopian world, and Satan as a machine.

    Imagine a Triple A title with these graphics. The amount of things you could do with graphics like this is ridiculous. Instead of developers focusing on graphics they could focus on things that mattered, like replay-ability and what makes the game tick.

    Damn, what does it mean ? What is the storyline behind the music video ? I want to see more. This should be made into a mini series. It was SO INTENSE watching this.

      @ifellbecauseofyou1712 8 ปีที่แล้ว +79

      +Steven Aguilera The video is actually complete, there is no more story left for future videos - this one tells the entire story. However, you can definitely get more out of it if you analyze it - break it down in your brain and try to see how the pieces come back together. You know, the thing your literature teacher tried to teach you? Yeah, believe it or not, it does help you get more out of stories.
      This one is pretty obvious I should say - Once upon a time a girl with limited understanding of reality, symbolized by always looking at the world through her super cool glasses, went on a quest for eternal life, symbolized by the black ankh hanging next to the front mirror in her car. The road to eternal life, a.k.a. wisdom, leads the protagonist down a dark path of necromancy and conjuration of entities whilst driving at breakneck speeds and leaving the driver's seat empty. In an act of magic Ms Protagonist FancyGlasses draws an upward black triangle and opens a portal to summon Satan, symbolized by a wolf's head as is customary. Which is just a silly mask anyway, so it melts down to reveal the inner robotic machinery, bare circuitry symbolizing detailed understanding of the inner workings of reality, hinting that scientific knowledge replaces mythological fairy tales, and then this layer too is stripped down to reveal the next underlying level - a blinding light streaming from within that symbolizes that which is beyond our capacacity to comprehend, the neverending light of ultimate knowledge, or you could interpret it as the impending singularity, same old shit if you ask me...
      So Missy keeps driving but when the easy part of the journey is over, she has to climb a mountain now, and the car starts holding her back, so she transforms it into a lightweight motorcycle so she could complete the last, steepest part of the journey faster. She passes some futuristic undead dancing in a cyber megapolis and eventually reaches the top above the clouds.
      At the end of the video Missy is at the very apex of the mountain, alone, staring face to face into an anthropomorphic robotic personification of the godhead or the ascended mode of being, destiny if you will. Because this is the end of the journey now, Missy undergoes her final transformation - she takes off her glasses, symbolizing the casting aside of her old worldview and her old way of thinking. She now sees the world for the first time through her own eyes, no longer limited by her previous ignorant outlooks that blocks her view the way eyeglasses do. Her eyeglasses are shattered, symbolizing Missy's point of awakening. Once she has born witness to the greater reality of things, she can no longer go back to seeing the world the old, limited, small way - the glasses are broken, reminding us that the quest for ultimate knowledge is a one-way street.
      And as is typical with these things, in the process of attaining enlightenment, Missy has to pay for it by sacrificing her innocence/humanity and leaving her body behind, that's why she gets flash irradiated into a skeleton at the end. We can speculate that Missy's essence was uploaded into the electronic superbrain of the A.I. at the heart of the futuristic megapolis. It doesn't matter much through, cause at the end of the day Missy dieded.
      You know, actually I think you're right. It's a shitty way to end a story. Kind of wanting to know what happens next myself too lol

    • @stevenaguilera9202
      @stevenaguilera9202 8 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      +Morninglight Byrnes Me thinks that was an extremely well-thought out and accurate analysis of the video. I knew the black triangle symbolized something supernatural but had forgotten what. I like your symbolic interpretation of the video. Moreover, the process of attaining enlightenment is seemingly futile because reaching the end means death. Ultimately, it is her choice. She was so adamant about reaching the top; physically and enlightenment-wise. The ending really got me. The head seems to reflect HER because when she takes of the glasses, she dies along with the deity; like they were one. Rewinding a bit, the slave skeletons seem like they tried to accomplish what Missy did but became slave to the deity instead; slave to the same view, unable able to go forward; stuck. The black panther is a symbol of death and rebirth in spirituality. So I'm actually wondering if she summoned the black panther to guide her since it is a protective spirit animal.

      I was a kid and remember the Amiga scene, the only "demos" I could see was the pirated intro screens to my games (I lived in a small city outside EU or US, so it was difficult to get anything)! and some graphic design or animation software that had their example projects, amazing times
