A view of every member lined up. In this model alone, there are 66 members.
An interlocking bracket complex is a trademark feature of temple and shrine architecture; but how
are these assembled? Here we examine the Engakuji Shariden and introduce how to assemble an
    interlocking bracket complex.

This is the sort of design that drives mass employment.

I've always admired designs such as these, but admit I don't understand the utility of it. Is it purely decorative or is it structural or both?

In terms of Japanese architecture, this kind of structure serves both structural and decorative function, it will also provide flexibility against earthquakes. You can also find the same elements in Chinese architecture, but after the Ming dynasty (ca.1600), the scale of it shrunk, and serves more as a decorative feature.

This is the connection of pillar and beam invented in China. And it was widely used during the time when metal fasteners are not available in Asia.

Basically, it is a construction technique in which parts made of wood are fixed in a complicated combination like a three-dimensional puzzle and assembled firmly without using any hardware (nails and bolts) or adhesive.

Korea thinks that the best way to get people to shop at your store is to make the building look like a gift box. That’s the result of all of the gobbledygook fish head pigeon chatter that goes on upstairs
