Iggy Pop official bio:
Widely acknowledged as one of the most dynamic stage performers of all time, Iggy Pop pre-figured both ‘70s punk and ‘90s grunge and has built a legendary career filled with both critical acclaim and fanatic cult success. There are never-ending migrations back to the Stooges three seminal LPs, while some of Iggy’s iconic solo albums including Lust For Life, The Idiot, New Values, Zombie Birdhouse, Blah Blah Blah, Brick by Brick, American Caesar, Skull Ring, Preliminaires, Apres and the latest Free along with many featurings and cooperations, have cemented his status as a true music innovator. The first two of his solo albums were co-written and produced by David Bowie - a collaboration widely discussed as one of the most epic musical alliances.
In 2010, Iggy and the Stooges were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and in 2020 Iggy received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
Iggy made a welcome solo return in 2016 with his Post Pop Depression album which is a result of a highly acclaimed collaboration between Iggy and co-creator Josh Homme. The album was nominated for a Grammy Award in “Best Alternative Music Album” category. The Tour resulted in a LIVE at Royal Albert Hall DVD (Best Live Music Film Award at UK MVA 2016).
Iggy’s various film work gathered momentum: song “Gold”, collaboration with Danger Mouse, was nominated for a Golden Globe. “To Stay Alive: A Method” movie with Michelle Houellebecq was screened at several festivals to critical acclaim. Iggy also worked with Oneohtrix Point Never on a soundtrack for a Safdie Brothers movie “Good Time” (Soundtrack Award at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival).
This 2023, Iggy Pop is set to release his 19th studio album, Every Loser. The album, produced by Andrew Watt, features performances from Duff McKagan, Chad Smith, Jane Addiction’s Dave Navarro, Foo Fighter’s Taylor Hawkins, and more. The album was preceded by singles “Frenzy” and “Strung Out Johnny.”

Lust For Life lyrics:
Here comes Johnny Yen again
With the liquor and drugs and the flesh machine
He's gonna do another striptease
Hey man, where'd you get that lotion?
I been hurting since I bought the gimmick
About something called love
Yeah, something called love
Well, that's like hypnotizing chickens
Well, I'm just a modern guy
Of course I've had it in the ear before
'Cause I've a lust for life
'Cause I've a lust for life
I'm worth a million in prizes
With my torture film, drive a GTO
Wear a uniform all on a government loan
I'm worth a million in prizes
Yeah, I'm through with sleeping on the sidewalk
No more beating my brains
No more beating my brains
With the liquor and drugs
With the liquor and drugs
Well, I am just a modern guy
Of course, I've had it in the ear before
'Cause I've a lust for life
'Cause I've a lust for life
I got a lust for life
Got a lust for life
Oh a lust for life
Oh a lust for life
A lust for life
I got a lust for life
I got a lust for life
Well, I am just a modern guy
Of course I've had it in the ear before
Well I've a lust for life
'Cause I've a lust for life
Well, here comes Johnny Yen again
With the liquor and drugs, and the flesh machine
I know he's gonna do another striptease
Hey man, where'd you get that lotion?
Your skin starts itching once you buy the gimmick
About something called love
Oh, love, love, love
Well, that's like hypnotizing chickens

Chad Smith?? Duff McKagan?? SWEET!!
We really need to think what kind of world we are leaving for him and Keith Richards.
Seriously, how is this dude still going? I saw him live 20 years ago and thought: I’m glad I’m seeing this, he’s probably not got long left.
This dude is almost 80 years old and he's still freaking killing it on stage in front of a huge crowd. I'm 37 and I feel accomplished if I can go for a long trail walk without injuring my back. 😂
🙋♂️same.
But I'm 48
Same here. Incredible!
I saw him at Mosswood park in Oakland in 2017, with his great house band which needs no ringers. One of the best shows in 55 years. I went back and looked at interviews - he's a serious artist, smart and well spoken, with midwestern charm. An d a physical culturist. Probably too busy to run for president...
what a fucking great human being
Saw him so many times. Never gets old. Fuck he's so Awesome. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💩👍
I'm 65 . The Stooges were Awesome 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Legend 🤗
Chad Smith from red hot chillipeppers is the drummer
Iggy you are historique
Love.. Love.. Iggy, but with his money, can we talk about a hip replacement? He's gotta be in pain from that. Much respect Mr.Pop!
At this point the alcohol and cocaine are keeping him alive.... Power to him tho for keeping going 😂😂
These comments make me think i went to an alternate universe. Are you serious. This guy is awful. Always has been
As someone who reads a lot of TH-cam comments on a lot of concert videos (I've posted 1,400 such videos by now), I can tell you your take is unsurprising. Music is so subjective. An artist some people love will be disliked (or even hated) by plenty of other people. That's what makes music so interesting and exciting. (I just wish the people with the negative opinions would be a little more gracious about it, because I guarantee you that whomever _they_ love, other people feel just as negatively about them too. I'm thinking of the whole golden rule thing). Cheers!

What's awful about it?
