Perfect dose before going on a flight.
Oh no
dose of what????
flame out!!!!???
Yeah, you "laugh now," smarty pants 🤔🤨
I do that too!
33:32 is that you Shang-Chi?! 👁👄👁
There is a reason why his face is on the thumbnail
Who would have thought that his face going to be a clickbaiter for this kind of channel when he started, right? 😅
@@izzfp9802 prolly the thumbnail has been updated after massive success of Shang Chi and the legend of the ten rings.
I'm gonna spaz out because noone is mentioning Simu Liu acting as an ATC worker. He's right there y'all. 33:00
Indeed “noone”. 🙄🙄😒🙄🙄😒😒🙄🙄
LMAO I only clicked on this to see this comment
Holy crap there are others who noticed lol.
@pro Austrian painter shang chi
your father simu chui is your father
I love how this video translates the languages from different countries to English so that we can understand about airplane crashes. Also, Rest In Peace to all victims of any plane crashes. We will miss you.
All TH-cam videos do that
@@WaynePryce not all
the subtitles are terrible , many words are wrong
@@evenbiggerthanthat So you’re saying you don’t want non-English speakers to understand these documentaries?
@@petergriffin3194 where do I say that, grow up and get a life
The repeated words, "Pull up. Pull up. Pull up." can send cold chills up and down one's spine.
Me too
Oho shang chi became air Traffic Controller
Did anyone see Shang chi as air traffic control
huh?
@@bxbygotsmoove 33:00
Yeah
Yes XD
Yup
All respect to the courageous pilots..past, present, and future.
10:16
that was a better jumpscare than any horror game
R.I.P to all of the People Who died
It’s so great to see huge channels like Wonder and Smithsonian making hour-long compilations of air crash investigations!
I love watching these types of videos to be honest

Fr tho why
The coolest part of the story of Lauda Flight 4 is how niki lauda basically tricked boeing into admitting that the thrust reverser caused the crash by calling their bluff and insisting that they allow him too fly a 767 set up too suffer the failure.
They refused by saying "but you could die" and he had his answer.
As a formula 1 fan, I never expected to see Niki here! Rest in Peace Legend!
9:17 Speaking of which, to the passengers and crew of Lauda 004, and Niki himself, Rest In Peace.
hes reborn in builderbuddies
Today make 31 years of this crash 😥😥😥
"Flying is the second greatest thrill known to man...landing is the first".
Respect to the camera man for surviving all the crashes
😂😂
Much needed light humor! Great comment my friend! Lolol 😂😊😅
Did he just say nikki is the best known austrian since mozart? Lmaoooooo
oops Sorry 😅 😂
who's gonna tell him 💀
Omg Simu Liu is in the thumbnail😂
Did anyone notice Shang Chi is the ATC here😂
I did
I actually remember the fed ex m 11 crash one on the news, after i checked out some following new details over a few days, in the back of y mind i kept thinking, these circumstances sound similiar to some of the md-11s previous accident history and than it was shown to be true. I still can't believe it happened as it was totally preventable :(
46:48 "Something is happening"
Well no duh somethings happening.
23:11 did anyone else think that the bumping noise wasn't from the video? xD
Simu Liu on the thumbnail...I see what you did there haha
ah yes, im at LAX airport while watching this. 💀
says flaps 1(sees him mvoing it to 10)
me: bruh. is it so hard to set it to 1 its ONE pull.
Lol
Sometimes flaps one is really 10
Must be seen by every pilots in globe. well inspired smithsonian. good move
I was part of the Navy diving team that resurrected the bodies and plane of the JFKjr incident. Crazy times indeed.
31:27
Shang Chi and the legend the the rings?
Simu liu on the thumbnail 🤣
I don't know how I got interested in plane crashes
Question in my head

Mee too bud

32:36 sheesh
Good idea putting the air traffic control in the FedEx crash as your thumbnail. Wonder what he got up to...
23:07 I literally love this shot of the 737. Sadly it crashed.
Yes
Hi
I am so addicted to these videos. I love planes so much!!
Same
I was a pro athlete in the 1970's.
I used to fly on Continental often. 727's. Then, on the newer 747's, or DC-10's.
Never again. The maintenance crews are unconcerned, and not highly trained.
My dad was a small fixed wing pilot, and bought new planes, Bonanza, Piper, Cessna. and Mooney. He always did as much on his planes as possible, and always used the same tech. He flew out of El Monte, and often flew to Big Bear, to his vacation cabin. He took safety very seriously. I can't fault him for that. There are no road shoulders, pullout lanes, or pullouts, for airplanes.
What sport
Rest in peace Pilots Who have tried their best salute to People who didn’t make it home.
Thx 4 sharing. Always do long ones like this. Longer the better.
Also first air 6560, because the captain falsely believed that the autopilot is still guiding them to runway, when in fact, the captain's yoke movement switched it to manual automatically. Not only that, there were poor communications and a flaw in the GPWS since it only goes off too late and a strong wind drifted the plane further to the right.
Lol you just spoke a different language to many many people haha!!
I’ve already seen almost all plane crash investigation documentaries here on YT and this is by far the newest compilation I’ve seen. Great job Smithsonian!
🤩🤩👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
2:41
Captain: Flaps one please
F/O: (pulls flaps to 15 and there's no such a notch marked "1")
🤦♂️
They need to come out with four new episodes per day every day lol pretty sure I've watched every single one.
Are you hoping to have more airplane crash???
@@coolwei1427 theres many plane crashes dude
@@jadenparker1229 and they have made a lot of video about them.
@@jadenparker1229 this man is hoping they made *more* video mean he wants *more* airplane to crash
@@coolwei1427 I'm sure there's more crashes they haven't made some about, but if a few planes gotta "pull up pull up" for my entertainment. That's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.
Air traffic controller here: ATC will never "clear" a aircraft to deviate from a route. Saying cleared is used for permission to land or depart and that those surfaces are free of obstructions. The ATC can not verify if the new route is clear and will therefore say approved instead. The correct phrasing is "aircraft ID, heading deviation approved, turn left heading 090 then climb and maintain fl xxx, report next 30 or arrival next, how copy?".
Also atc will never ever say "over" at the end of a message. That's a movie thing.
Never knew flight 80 be on here🛫🛬❤️
RIP pilots😭❤️❤️😭😭
99% you guys won’t see this but if you do rest in peace all who died

Good job 👍 to the camera men on the airplanes, they managed to get the clips online!
Always enjoy your videos. The amount of Insight that you put into these videos explains the "What Happened" aspect even a novice like myself can understand. You definately keep my mind occupied and I rarely drift . I think most of us know someone who has survived and or died in a Plane crash.
Thank you so much for all you do .
When ur about to board the flight
TH-cam : Then this is the right time for you to see this video
31:28 Shang chi main character actor
FedEx has planes
Yep
Yeas
Yes such as the md-11 dc-10 767 737 atr72-500 L-400
Oh boy...watching this 4 days before my flight literally
Was that Shang Chi in the thumbnail? Lmao literally watching it rn
ATC in FedEx 80 crash
Never board a plane if you see a Smithsonian camera man on board
wtf 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
I watch your videos because if I get into a plane crash and I survive I know what the pilots were going through before they crashed
How does that help?
It I got into a plane crash i would rather die than survive because wherever it is there will be no food so I will just die after a few hours or days
Finely its here i have been waiting for this video
Thats freaking Shang Chi, the Master of Kung Fu…. He’s overqualified for ATC!!!
Alright
10:30 thats some cool music 😎😎😎😎
Love these compilations but hate where one ends and the next starts… I find myself looking for the entire episode to figure what the ending is lol

big mad respect to the cameraman who died and came back to life to record these crashes
Lol
HEY shang chi was present in this universe 🤣🤣
A video that requires you to have a Wikipedia tab open to read the causes, because the video doesn't really offer resolutions.
Was looking for this comment.
Yeah obviously. We’re just hear too see the crashes
Ok so lesson learned: Get the hell off the plane if there's a Smithsonian camera man
Love watching this while on an airplane
the narrator's voice is what makes these documentaries more thrilling and interesting to me ...like the narrator of Forensic files ,not sure if its not the same buh medical detectives too
Very interesting. Great job.
My sincerest condolences, to all those who have been killed in aviation crashes. God Bless You all. Rest In Peace
31:27 he looks like shang chi
You wanna know why?
A plane on fire is the perfect thing to see before you get on a plane
Imagine how terrified the people at 10:51 we're when they just saw flams outside
It's awful :(
I can’t believe Niki Lauda Formula One driver made his own aeroplane commercial and it’s destroyed😂😂
Yeah but How Ended the story ?! Suddenly there came a new story from brazil 😮 . Or are they connected and i am Not yet far enough in the video ?
Love to watch such documentaries while going to sleep 😊
Relaxes me that I am not on the flight.
33:01 That's the actor from my favorite movie Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings💜💜💜💜😍👍 Such a great great movie👍
I think that flight attendant is a vampire in the first 1
exactly what i have to watch month before flying
Am I dreaming this is the best series ever and may the victims who didn't make it rest in peace 🙏🏻❤
That why I tell u boy I never wanna fly in a airplane
PLEASE THE SCREEN'S ARE ALWAYS TOO DARK TO WATCT, PLEASE CORRECT IT, THANKS:
39:25 when he said hidson river i immediately thought of sully
Bruh you got a potential Avenger who is working that day, sees a plane get taken down to hell, and still not give a shit.
That’s Kim’s connivence guy who also starred in Shang Chi at 33:00!!! Guess you gotta start somewhere
Epic Crashes
Yes my favorite

He sure gave them a different way of flying
"I think Niki is the best known Austrian since Mozart." Yeah...you sure about that.
It needs poetically rephrasing.....'I think Niki is the best known, law abiding decent humane Austrian since Mozart' !!!!!!!!
Lets be real alot people probably think Hitler was German
david alaba is
I've experienced an airline delay as scary as it seams the flight was American from Charleston,South carolina to San Antonio, texas
52:29 Fun fact: Obama was elected that night, I still have some fuzzy little memories about that.
"this is my first plane crash" lol
Knowing what we know now.. I think aborting after V1 would have been the best option for the Concorde. Yeah it would have ran off the end of the runway. But that airport (Charles de Gaulle) has a very very long field at the end of the runway (about 3000 feet of grass) then a highway that sits down a small hill and more farm land.
3000ft wouldn't have been enough to get the aircraft on the ground and stopped, and due to the fact its an uneven field the aircraft would have suffered structural failure, and more than likely killed everyone onboard too.
its not as easy as saying "Oh he could have aborted"
This Smithsonian team is smart af. Changed the thumbnail of this video to accommodate the smaller role played by Shang Chi, aka Simu Liu, to gain more views.
The Brunette in the Concorde segment is Sarah McLaughlin's Doppleganger.
It's puzzling how a plane crash in the modern day ages can happen, you have all your instruments and Warning systems.
Its the other way round, if you know physics, engineering, you would not build planes with these amount of uncertainities, faults at all. Same goes for cars, trains as well. The systems appear safer than average consumer thinks.
Also, a lot of commercial airplanes are freakin old as all get out. I wish they replaced them more often. These companies have sooo much money. It shouldn’t be too difficult. Also, from what I’ve seen here, the pilots nowadays don’t really know how to fly the planes. Computers do everything now. Among many other factors. I am avoiding writing a novel as a reply lol. Don’t come for me please. This is just my observation. You will not catch me on any planes nowadays for obvious reasons. Also, bc I have flown a lot as a kid. I feel like over tested fate enough lol…
Y’all take care up there!!
It's a miracle that the British one
737 had no deaths
Had not seen the VARIG or the FIRST AIR episodes... Cheers
Shaun is up here grinding
oh my god md 11 fedex express upside down accident!
What fascinates me about plane crashes is the warnings the plane gives
The machine you are in control off is tell you that you are about to crash and that you need to pull up
Or the stall stall warning
The machine you are in control off is telling you what the issue is and as a entity you need to react accordingly
The captain was flying so not his job to check altitude. Plus he saved the plane . He's a hero
