There was never a Kingdom of Palestine, an Empire of Palestine or a Nation of Palestine. It was a REGION that got split up and changed hands over and over through the centuries. Calling someone a Palestinian is like calling them a European.

@@DonutelloPasta You missed my point. I'm not talking about calling a Palestinian arab a European.
I'm saying that calling a person (a Gazan for example) a "Palestinian" is the same as calling a person from one of the many countries in Europe (Hungary for example) a "European". Palestine was the name of the entire REGION until the late 1960s when Arafat took possession of the word and changed it.
Before that, southern Syrians, southern Lebanese, western Jordanians and all Jews / Arabs / Christians /Druze / etc who lived "from the river to the sea" ALL called themselves "Palestinians" because it was the name of the region they came from.

You are talking about a region that has been inhabited for 13,500 years, with historical relics that date back four thousand years of great buildings and cities built under Empires such as the Assarcid, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman. Before the British, Palestine had ancient cities, mosques, Turkish baths, squares, libraries, universities, abundant agriculture and fertile lands along the Jordan River. It was an international trade route for centuries and has an ancient culture, its own society, with its own identity, language and religion. When the British arrived, the population of Palestine was 800,000, of which 60,000 were Christians and only 20,000 were Jews. The vast majority were Arabs, the spoken language was Arabic and the predominant religion was Muslim. EVERYONE LIVED IN PEACE. Go educate yourself

because it was qonquered by Muslims. the jews didnt choose to call it that. the 1948 split was fair. Plaestien got what used to be philistia and even Judea(west bank) they got the best land and still refused and started the war. Muslims are only okey with people they qonquer if they can control them and get their taxes from them. ottoman qonquer after killing all the defence of the country they attack or until they surrender , then offer either convert to islam or pay a high tax to stay alive and keep your faith. so the extra tax to keep your religion pretty much makes you a slave inside your own country they qonquer.

Yes and no. They tried to get Arabs and Jews to agree to a shared "country", but the Arabs and Jews would never agree to share their land with the other (even if they shared it, "de facto", during the British occupation). The Brits quit in despair, letting Arabs and Jews to figure out a solution by themselves, and we know how that went. But it's a bit rich to blame the British for what came next. Arabs and Jews were committed to "never compromise", and that could only mean conflict and war...

Its another Palestine the one after 1948.... When the ottoman empire fell in 1918 the British gave that piece of land the name Palestine and ruled it for 30 years, 1918-1948. It was not an arab ruled state. Everything made between 1918 and 1948 with the name Palestine, is English made, every penny, every passport evert map every stamp, everything! Before 1918 the Turkish ruled for 600 years. Also no arab state Palestine. In 1964 An Egyptian (PLO a political movement) took a replica of the flag from jordan, cut the star out and said we are Palestinians. So arab Palestinians with a arab leader came in 1964 and not before that time. So no, it was Palestine all right but not an arab ruled Palestine!

@elisa5441 with this stupid logic, Algerians did not exist because they were under the french mandate for more than 100 years and before that they were under the rule of ottoman empire and it was not called Algeria before😂😂😂 And India and Indians did not exist and the british mandate created them . 😂😂😂😂 WHAT stupidity is this I dont know 😂😂 Of course Algerians and Algeria, Indians and India did exist despite who ruled. Same for Palestinians and Palestine. And no it is called Palestine way before 1918. In a book of Shakespeare in 1604 called Othello, he mentionned PALESTINE.
Also in a map of Palestine by Thomas Bradford in 1838, the name of the Land PALESTINE is written. And many other historical documents all over the world mentionned Palestine way before the british mendate contrary to what you claim. There continued a Jewish population in Israel after the Roman conquest. The Arab migrants who entered Israel in the centuries afterwards did not change the fact that Israel continued to be a Jewish State, though under foreign rule and suffering under an Arab migration invasion. The end of the Ottoman rule over Israel in the aftermath of WW1 changed the politics and the demographics; the Arabs lost the rule over Israel. The British Mandate over Israel in the interbellum was intentionally called palestine to please the Arab migrants, and all that ended after WW2 when Israel was reinstated as a sovereign state again in 1948 . Remains the fact that prewar Israel was Israel and under British occupation, considering this nice movie about prewar Israel.

True. To hear Palestinian towns referred to by colonial names such as Tel Aviv, and in 1941 to hear phrases such as 'the Jewish people have made huge progress in a short time' whilst pointing to modern construction projects. Portraying Arabs as primitive farming in traditional method and Jews as progressive and advanced using modern tools. Even in 1941 the Western media was just a giant propaganda machine. You can see the ground being layed for the usurpation of that most holy of lands and the unholy and barbaric Zionist things committed thereupon.

I read many comments saying jewish were there first and my answer to that Ofcourse since judaism came before Islam and christianity, when islam came a lot of people in that area converted to islam, so the whole time it’s been the same people living there and they just decided to change their religion.

There is actually a controversy regarding this. If Israel expelled Palestinians in 1948 then how come more than 20% Israeli citizens are still Arabs?? Arab Israeli activist Yoseph Haddad said that his grandfather got an order to leave from Arab leaders from Syria & Lebanon. The Palestinian Arabs, who listened to these orders, became refugees. Those, who refused to listen, are today’s Arab Israelis

So many here seem to misunderstand this video - this was a 1941 british narrated film clip about the area that the british called palestine, more formally known as the "british mandate of palestine". It is adjacent to the west of what was then known as the "british mandate of trans-jordan", now known as jordan. They referred to all inhabitants of the area as palestinians. The jews and arabs were both inhabitants of british mandated palestine. At 5:10, they refer to the jewish administration of palestine, and at 9:00 they refer to the muslim bathing his hands and feet before entry into the mosque as an arab. They do NOT refer to the arabs as palestinians, and certainly don't validate any kind of prior claim to the land. They also call the land where jerusalem is located as Judea - NOT the "west bank".
Here is another documentary from the 1920s on the jewish settlement of Shechem, now known as Samaria or the west bank:
    th-cam.com/video/PTytwXHZEWQ/w-d-xo.html
The Quran mentions Israel 43 times. But it does not mention the word Palestine even once.
Further, in an interview in the March 31st 1977 edition of the Dutch newspaper Trouw, PLO executive and close associate of Yasser Arafat, Zahir Muhsein stated the following:
"The Palestinian people do not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct 'Palestinian people' to oppose Zionism." "

      @TonyNaber 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

it seems you're the one who misunderstood, and then you go on to misinterpret an old quote. How do Arabs not have a claim to the land? You see them living and breathing right there in front of you. On what basis were they expelled and brutalized? It's called British Mandate because the territory was administered by Turks prior to British control. The British didn't come up with the term "Palestine". It can be seen on maps that are centuries older than this video.
You're so biased and eager to spread your agenda that you don't even make sense. There was also no "Swede" or "Norwegian" or "Estonian" or "Albanian" before they became nation STATES. Emphasis on the word "State", a fairly modern concept. A "Palestinian" is simply someone who lived on the land that was called Palestine. Yes, again, it was called Palestine. This isn't debatable, it's verifiable by looking at old maps, newspapers, books, etc... Herzl himself referred to it as Palestine. Deranged clownery is what this is. The darkest and most vicious corner of heII is reserved for ur kind.

    • @TonyNaber

Once upon a time, there were Romans. A greek was a roman, an Italian was a roman, and even a German was a roman. Now there's no such thing right? But romans spoke latin. And latin is the father language of many European languages today. Arabic is the Latin of the Middle East. Arabic didn't branch off, so you have a whole territory of people who still call themselves "Arab". But that doesn't mean the territory didn't consist of sub-territories. The levant was known as Syria collectively. Now only a small part is what people call syria. The Romans referred to what is now Palestine as "Palestina". They invented the term. That was about 2000 years ago. So you are wrong on so many levels, but I suspect you have an agenda cause this is not that complicated.

Yes, in the Quran you never hear the word Palestine, because Palestine isn't an Arabic word. the people of Palestine have been there since before the Quran so Palestine predates the Quran and the word Israel being said in the book.

Although the Quaran does mention the word "Israel" 43 times, the word "Israel" in the Quaran DOES NOT refer to a specific area of land or a unified nation in that land, to claim otherwise would be blatant misinformation and a complete mischaracterisation / misrepresentation of the truth. The truth is that "Israel" is the name of a prophet in the Quaran, and "the children of Israel" refers to the tribes that decended from this prophet. Whenever the word "Israel" is mentioned it the Quaran, it is specifically referring to either the prophet "Israel" or the children of Israel. The Quaran does not mention any region of land or any unified nation named "Israel". Therefore, the Quaran is specifically referring to an ancient group of people, the Quaran does not refer a specific region of land as "Israel".
Where do you think the british got the word "palestine" from? Palestine is obviously not a british word the british made up out of nowhere, it is a word that has historically been used to reference the region of palestine by its inhabitants that the british later co-opted when they gained control of the region. "they referred to all inhabitants of the area as palestinians", "they do NOT refer to the arabs as palestinians" these two statements directly contradict each other, did the british call the arab inhabitants of the area palestinians or not? Palestine USED to be a multi-religion society, but pretty much all the inhabitants, whether jew, muslim or christian, were ethnically arabs who primarily spoke arabic. The racial demographic only started changing singificantly when eastern european white jews started immigrating there, and we all know what happened next :/
Watch the video "Debunking "Ancient Israel"" by the youtuber GDF, he provides evidence that yes, the land has historically been referred to as palestine.
