The entry of so many brands into this segment of the market (that is already considered "small") probably has Truman (and other companies as well) thinking about their strategy. It's turned out that we hear about it from Truman and, as far as I know, not as much from other makers. If a company wants to grow its revenue, it seems logical to expand its products to entice additional buyers. From my perspective as a consumer, I hope we will always have the opportunity to buy from Truman the boots they are known for making today. But it's true, when you talk about long-lasting rebuildable products, customers can/will only purchase so many before they can't/won't buy again.
I already have nine pairs of rebuildable long lasting boots. Considering that I am working from home, I already questioned myself is it wise to buy more
I have a pair of the brown double shot and was looking at their cypress but even using their sizing guidelines I'm probably suited to their wide width. Even with my limited collection, I usually have to buy a couple pair of boots before I can dial in which size I need when making another order. They're beautiful boots and while I'd like a pair of Nick's Americanas exactly how I want them, the months (6-10) long wait is a downside but again, getting the exact size, width construction, hardware, sole, heel etc. (to a certain extent) is an advantage. Waiting to see what Truman does going forward.
I’ve purchased 30 pairs of Truman Boots I’ve had zero QC issues and great customer service. These few complainers are getting all the attention, all this speculation is just that, speculation. The boots are certainly flying off the website in mere minutes of being posted. I see Caswell or Parkhurst going down before Truman as they’re practically the same product IMO. No one else in the space does what Truman does and frankly I think they take flak for no apparent reason at all. He appears to have stated that if people are going to complain about certain products he simply wont offer them anymore, I put this down to customers being ignorant of what an artisanal product is. Just my two cents, have a pair arriving from Truman on Tuesday.😎🤘👍🇨🇦
My guess is they are going to start focusing on non-boot products......aka shoes and loafers. They are cheaper to build material wise, sell for almost the same price, and has a larger market.
I'd hate to see the current version of Truman fold, or morph into something else. That said, I own Red Wing, Grant Stone and Viberg boots, as well as others, but no Trumans. I guess my history might illustrate Vince's problem. Cheers
In all honesty, i have no doubt that whatever truman boot becomes they will succeed because of vinces attention to detail. He isnt some clown who bought a company and is squeezing it for money, he knows everything and every aspect of his company. I think what will become of truman is that they will expand their line to work boots. Why? Even red wing company their best sellers are their work boots not their heritage. I think vince will most likely take something like steel toed boots and improve the leather and comfort and introduce a steel toed or heavy work duty boots that both the regular everyday person can appreciate and the heritage collectors can appreciate it. I also would expect vince to take his company or a whole new company to a direction that thursday has, going for fashion as well. In reality only time will tell but i am excited to see what vince has for the public.
For the price, truman is kinda bum. So many other manufacturers out there with higher quality for the same price or lower! Also, JK is WAY more comfy without using inferior material

I tend to agree. I can't see myself buying any more even if my size is offered.
